For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh I don't know, I'm crap, you'll have to go to the experts!

Boco - ROFL took me a minute then, I was actually thinking you meant you had big ears for a minute! DH is at stage person's now. He will be coming back all wistful for decadence but staging is not conducive to family life . I will see before Friday but think it might be a bit loud and chaotic for Lo, even though it's family friendly.

TheChamberofCarrots · 11/07/2007 22:19

Would be good to meet though, bunnyface!

BocoBeak · 11/07/2007 22:22

Oh don't say that about loud and chaotic - do you think a 2 year old and 5 year old will be ok? It's doing it on my own that's making me nervous. And with absolutely no thought or planning.

And dd2 is wheezing. Now i'm worrying that i'm being totally irresponsible taking a wheezy 2 year old to a festival.

But it feels like i haven't left this village for months, i'm desperate!

3andnomore · 11/07/2007 22:26

Boco, lol at teh description of yourself...
Mrs. C...I like Malfoynomore (that is that nasty blond git, right...or is it?,,,,Should take more notice of what happens in the movies, me thinks, and who is who...)

lionheart · 11/07/2007 22:31

Thought I would be safe from HarryP in here but oh no ....

TheChamberofCarrots · 11/07/2007 22:31

They'll be fine, Boco, it's REALLY family friendly, almost too much iyswim. But Lo is not yet six months and it could be overwhelming, for me as much as him, I find school pick up a bit much at the moment! You are meeting your friends aren't you?

3andnomore- yes, Malfoy is the git! Be him baddies are best.

TheChamberofCarrots · 11/07/2007 22:33

Sorry Lionhart. We are all sheep, and you are a lion, ROOOAAARRR!

TheChamberofCarrots · 11/07/2007 22:33

Sorry, don't know what came over me then

BocoBeak · 11/07/2007 22:41

Forgot you had such a little baby. That'd be harder yes. But just for the day? yes meeting some friends, all childless - those ones are the best as they're all keen to experiment and practice, so they are totally over the top with their attention and do lots of galloping and frolicking, so i can often stay still for longer than usual periods of time, and i like that.

BocoBeak · 11/07/2007 22:41
lionheart · 11/07/2007 22:42

S'okay, CC, let it out.

TooTicky · 11/07/2007 22:51

fmv, that sounds like an interesting soup...recipe please

MrsC, thank you. Now, if I try it and it is nice it will be a lovely surprise. If I don't like it, I won't be too disappointed.

Grapefruit, 2 and a half nectarines, 3 yellow plums, thin slice of apple, carrots, broccoli, hint of cucumber.

Have walked a good 6 miles today what with toddler group, school and an evening walk with dcs. Ds1 got himself ankle deep in very smelly quickmud - in his trainers which he had to wear to school today as his shoes are still wet from hosing yesterday. Goodness knows what he will wear tomorrow.

Dd1 is away on a school trip - it is most odd not knowing what she is doing.

TheChamberofCarrots · 11/07/2007 22:52

LOL, yes, some of our most enthusiastic friends are childless, one of them seems to inspire madness in ours, they leap on him at first sight.

Thanks, Lionhart, feel better now

TheChamberofCarrots · 12/07/2007 08:07

is it morning already, yawn, blueberries in my porridge, grape and mango smoothie.

Franny- your ball is nearly dry, I could write

Franny Zooey
The house near the river
Three types of lettuce
Little Gallop
Essex

but it might not get there....

TranquilaManana · 12/07/2007 08:26

morning

have nothing veggie or healthy to say... but i am v of boco and her big ears going to the festival...i am sure you will have a lovely time. grrrr

NotQuiteCockney · 12/07/2007 08:26

Am completely dead, very very bad night, DS2 is now itchy. And was awake from 11:30 to 4 or 5 or something last night. I am not good with sleep dep, this week officially sucks. Way too busy for the first two days, and now a prisoner in my own home.

I have three people booked to come by later, one before the school run, and two after, so at least there's that. Maybe one won't make it, someone else might, whatever, but that will be cheery.

I have to go out and buy meds etc for DS2, poor thing.

And I'm cheering myself up by imagining lively shopping outings on the weekend, with just DS1.

NotQuiteCockney · 12/07/2007 08:27

Oh, MrsC, her real address is 'near the big blue tree', that does it really.

Don't know what will happen with F+V today. Probably mushroom tart for tea. Maybe leftover stir fry for lunch?

TranquilaManana · 12/07/2007 08:30

NQ - get the piriton down him and keep him dosed. will keep the itching, and thus, the whinging, whining misery, at bay.
trust me, im a doctor.
well, im not but...

TranquilaManana · 12/07/2007 08:31

i didnt give him anything else actually, (ds2 that is with the CP) as long as he was dosed with that, he didnt need anything else. i had medised at the ready for nightimes, but not needed AFAIR

FirenzeandZooey · 12/07/2007 08:53

LOL oh gosh so many posts I am REALLY planning to catch up on this thread today honestly

MrsC sorry I missed the thing about the ball, will get in touch

have eaten 2 nectarine, 4 plums, raisins, 2 kiwis

have stomach ache

NotQuiteCockney · 12/07/2007 09:21

He's actually ok now - the bath seems to have helped. But I will get piriton anyway, and maybe some creams. Is piriton not drowsy-making? I can't have another night like last night.

Malfoynomore · 12/07/2007 10:07

Hi All,
well so far so good....1 Galia Melon and 2 Nectarines so far...yum.... will probably have the left over Pasta Bog for lunch, so, there are some mushrooms, Tomatoes, Peppers, etc....in that...tonight it's gonna be Stirfry (carrots, Mangetout, Soya beans, Mushrooms, Courgette and such things....yum)...

sorry Lionheart about Harry Potter invading this thread...
Carrots...awww a little 6 month old....my youngest will be 3 years old in exactly 1 month...unbelievable...but must admit, I am happy we are out of the Babystage now, lol!
Boco, I have also some childless friends that so love spending time with my monsters....
TT nightmare about all the wet shoes...hope you were able to find some dry ones!
NQC, really sorry you and your lil one had such a tough night....tis hard on them, but just as hard on teh parents when they are ill.
Franny, tummyache...from the fruit or just woken up wiht it not nice...

TranquilaManana · 12/07/2007 10:38

i dont think pirito is supposed to be drowsy... but i didnt have trouble with him sleeping (afair)... like i say, i had the medised on standby for nightime and the extra sleepy element...

tho, i think that the illnes makes them tired anyway, tis just the itchiness/discomfort which keeps them awake and if you effectively remove that problem, they should sleep as well if not better than usual...

its a theory, anyway.

Malfoynomore · 12/07/2007 10:49

yup, Piriton can cause drowsyness...
