For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

The film festival was great. There are only 5 classes at DS's school and each class had made a short 'movie'. We had everything from the rain came down to shakespeare. Ds's class did the news, teh items being songs e.g miss polly had a dolly.... DS was the news reader. He was great, so serious. It was oscars night so I dug out the old ball gown and got glammed up. Such fun except it is * freezing here, there was no heating on and I couldn't feel any part of my body after it finished. Spared me the sausage roll fest though, we were so cold and DS2 so tired we left and came home.

MrsCarrot · 26/06/2007 21:05

I have had steak and chips for dinner, I don't know what has come over me.

at everyone

welcome back SauerKraut btw, nice to see you. What did you have? Sorry we weren't very helpful...

Have eaten mushroom, carrot, cauli, butternut and bean (2 types) stew. Or was it sweet potato? Can't remember. Anyway. was yummy. Still a bit full from Thornton's chocolate ice cream earlier (dp and ds made me, after the theatre)

I've come to boast at my amazing three meals today. Firstly muesli, then an omlette (ver nice with rocket and toms but no goats cheese) and salad (from pot grown by ds2) and salmon and green beans for supper.
Also quite a lot of sunflower seeds inbetween.

Is a big day for me. I feel vast. AND only 3 cups of coffee so far.

Now, who needed the welly boots? I have SCORES of them down in the basement. Does anybody still need them?

Hmmm. Franny, you're looking nice tonight. What is it? Ooooh are you wearing eyeshadow?

FrannyandZooey · 26/06/2007 21:34

Dp just noticed it (he never notices ANYTHING)

I said "Ooh you SOD you have been reading Mumsnet"

he said "No I haven't, I noticed it this morning"

I told him I had documented proof and witnesses that he could not have seen me wearing it this morning

I am not sure if he is speaking to me or not

FrannyandZooey · 26/06/2007 21:35

I would like to buy someone's welly boots, for me, but I feel quite sure you have small feet, 100x

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 26/06/2007 21:37

I have the largest feet of anyone I know, sigh,
the shoes look so pretty on the shelf, then they bring my size and they look like canoes.

Tatties · 26/06/2007 21:38

You know I would quite like some wellies for myself too you know. What's all this about eyeshadow?

ahundredtimes · 26/06/2007 21:40

LOL, how did you know Franny? I'm confident that Joyce Grenfell had massive flippers for feet.
I thought someone wanted some children's wellies, didn't they? It is quite possible that I have totally made this up. But NO I have adult ones. I don't need them. I stick to the pavements as a rule.

FrannyandZooey · 26/06/2007 21:42

eyeshadow

MrsCarrot · 26/06/2007 21:43

I would kill for small feet, 100x, well done on three meals and three coffees

Franny, I almost thought I'd have to give up rocketdogs as my ankles and knees ache, I'm getting old, but hurray, the chemist sells springy foot shaped insert thingys and I can wear ballet flats once more. Thought I was destined for Scholls.

FrannyandZooey · 26/06/2007 21:46

MrsC I have a fkd up foot and really shouldn't wear flat shoes

have had to give up FLIP FLOPS (tragic as I do heart flip flops )

and the worst of it is this week I noticed ds's foot goes down on one side the same way mine does aaaargh

anyway I find some rocketdogs very nice and cushiony. The brown sequinned ones are excellent for instance. However the ballet string ones are dire.

aha, I have found SPRINGY flip flops, a slight wedge and very pongey and comfy. Three coloured flowers on as well!

Avi- I'm an 8, so if it comes up small it's tough luck. There are never any 8's left either...

MrsCarrot · 26/06/2007 21:50

LOL spongey not pongey they don't smell yet

FrannyandZooey · 26/06/2007 21:51

Really? Springy? A friend keeps saying I should wear Birkys, but they don't have that same insouciant flippancy as flip flops

OP posts:
Tatties · 26/06/2007 21:51

Flip flops are the closest you can get to barefoot and therefore the best.

Like the sound of eyeshadow but it would probably be wrong of me to buy some as I rarely have time for it... I do like buying make-up though

ahundredtimes · 26/06/2007 21:51

Well Mrs C they are small, but they're a bit wide really and not particularly attractive. I'm not mad about them.

Last summer Franny, I bought brown rocketdog FLIP FLOPS, they had sequinny strap, and had very thick bouncy soles. Were delish. Could you wear those do you think?

MrsCarrot · 26/06/2007 21:56

there's something about a birk that feels encased I think, like you might sink into them and never come out.

I had to wear them when pregnant with dd as my 8's swelled to a 9 and nothing else would fit, so now I associate them with heaviness.

FrannyandZooey · 26/06/2007 21:56

oooh god ENVY at 100's flip flops

Tatties I can't go barefoot any more either

I should wear proper shoes with a footbed and an insert and all that but I just can't quite bear it just yet

the flip flop denial is the first stage of my acceptance of a lifetime's worth of Scholl

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 26/06/2007 21:57

mine are long and thin, 100x, I could probably roost with them

ahundredtimes · 26/06/2007 21:57

Size 9?

Are you very tall Mrs C? I wish I was taller.

MrsCarrot · 26/06/2007 22:00

5"8, not that tall but ish I guess

I'm not 9 now it was a temporary thing but they have grown a little with each baby, I was 7 to begin with

ahundredtimes · 26/06/2007 22:02

Yes, I think mine have widened with each baby to be honest, sort of spread with the strain as it were, I don't think they used to be so, well, square basically. You sound delightfully long to me Mrs C
