For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

but you can't shake the earth off them as well with a spade

and then you may have to spend more money on the osteopath after bending down too much so

buy a new fork

did your oven door really fall off

I have had avocado, tomato and cucumber on rivitas (sp?) I had a very dodgy stomach last night and have been feeling queasy and twisty all day. This is actually worse than I used to feel after eating a bit but a friend said that when you cut it out completely then it is much worse when you have even a small amount next time. Keep thinking 'it might be a bug' but that harps back to an old aniety/obsession, needed CBT for that. No catastrophising, carrot, you do not have a bug. You do no have a bug.

FrannyandZooey · 28/06/2007 14:22

oh jeez Avi, sorry about that

thank christ I deleted what I originally wrote which was much worse

(will not repeat just in case )

MrsC you do NOT have a bug. But sorry you feel a bit poorly.

Good luck Avi, small pieces of oven tend to be monstrously expensive.

MrsC, really sorry you're not feeling well.

Fmv, I am extremely of your cherry and strawberry glut.

I took some old books into a bookshop today to see if they were sellable. The woman was awfully awfully and terribly terribly, and she didn't say no, she said n'eau. Something about her attitude made me very and I had to leave quickly to avoid bursting into tears in front of her. Bloody books. Am feeling thoroughly disgruntled and have no chocolate.

Half a banana, nectarine, bit of apple, grapefruit, bit o' salad.

MrsCarrot · 28/06/2007 17:13

Thank you

I am officially a gas bag and I don't think I will eat too much fruit in case it makes it worse.

Franny- tomorrow I will poke you off the fruit throne

FrannyandZooey · 28/06/2007 17:21

Professorfilthymindedvixen · 28/06/2007 18:00

sigh, well you know, today I have had blueberries, cherries, rasps, strawbs, an apple, melon, a banana, a plum. Have had carrot, lettuce and red pepper in my hummous sarnie and for dinner am having cheesey leeks, mushrooms, sweetcorn and cauli.

FrannyandZooey · 28/06/2007 18:21

Ooh chamomile is good for tummies, too, isn't it? And peppermint, but that always keeps me awake

I have had some odd, but surprisingly not too bad, supermarkety butternut and leek roast thing with wild rice and tomato salsa

also had red cabbage (left over in freezer) corn and green beans

am pampering ds's lettuces for the veg show on Saturday and feeling the hand of doom on them - bet a giant slug will get them on Friday night

do you think the judges would notice if I polished the leaves?

Hello fruity people. I have eaten grapes, dried apricots, strawberries and raspberries. Having green beans for tea. Lots of water.

lionheart · 28/06/2007 19:07

Hello everyone.

That's horrid, TooT. Can you not sell them on Amazon?

Have had lettuce, apples, bananas, grapes, strawberries, smoothie , mushrooms, onion (o.k onion rings ).

TooTicky · 28/06/2007 19:08

Actually, MrsC, dill is good for tummies. And fennel.

TooTicky · 28/06/2007 19:10

I've never tried Amazon, Lionheart. How easy is it? I find ebay soul-destroying unless I have something that is guaranteed to sell well.

Tatties · 28/06/2007 19:11

Oh MrsC - another one with 'bug' issues When I am feeling like this I drink lots of camomile and spearmint tea (don't like camomile by itself). I find it really calming and gives me something to focus on, it is something I believe will make me feel better and it usually does. Hope you're ok.

Made sushi this afternoon which looked so fab I had to photograph it [boastful] I think the seaweed will be good for my PMT

This thread moves very fast indeed, not sure if I can keep up

lionheart · 28/06/2007 19:16

Dead easy to put stuff on--you just need to make sure you are around to collect emails and send book out the next day.

Works very well. They have a standard postage charge of three pounds (I think) and Amazon takes a percentage of the sale (10

percent or something like that) but it's a painless way to do it.

They don't charge you for putting stuff on and will send reminders when a book doesn't sell asking if you want to put it on again (and a quick click does it).

Hope that helps.
