For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information if you follow the link at the very bottom of the page

Wahey Quatt you exercised which was more than I did

Cod stop trying to poach my punters, I know you only want Miss Hundred

100x I have miso in the cupboard but I am buggered if I know what it is. Seaweed counts as a vegetable, yes?

ahundredtimes · 21/06/2007 22:02

erm...that's to cod, if she hasn't run orf.

Quattrocento · 21/06/2007 22:02

Your food is fabulously healthy 100. Did you make the miso soup or get it?

Mrscarrot · 21/06/2007 22:02

bugger, you told them about the miso and I was going to be so erudite!

FrannyandZooey · 21/06/2007 22:03

Quatt I think maybe the rest of us have larger appetites than you

So is miso seaweed or not? Beans? Seaweed? Beans?

OP posts:
Quattrocento · 21/06/2007 22:03

Sorry - meant to say that I loved the title

lionheart · 21/06/2007 22:03

I'm not so good at the vegetables. I blame the smoothies.

Was the thread somehow related to this?

There was a journalist and a book as well, wasn't there?

ahundredtimes · 21/06/2007 22:04

You just buy it in a packet and add boiling water. Is like japanese cuppa soup. I like it. You can get ones with bits of floating tofu in!
Jeez, I've only been eating for a week and I'm outstripping all you lot.

Quattrocento · 21/06/2007 22:05

Oh no, F&Z, have a HUGE appetite but on a bit of a weight loss kick at the moment. Unfortunately despite feeling as though I am completely starving, the weight isn't getting the message and is staying firmly put.

FrannyandZooey · 21/06/2007 22:05

Hmm perhaps we are humouring you a little tiny bit 100x

wait till Lullaby gets here and we will see who is outstripping who

OP posts:
Mrscarrot · 21/06/2007 22:05

you can get it with seaweed in but I believe it is made from fermented soy bean, an aquired taste I think.

FrannyandZooey · 21/06/2007 22:06

Hmm Quatt

think you need to be eating MORE and exercising more, get your metabolism right up

OP posts:
Mrscarrot · 21/06/2007 22:08

I think we should spy on 100 and check for sneaky brie

FrannyandZooey · 21/06/2007 22:10

can we frisk her? Is it legal?

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 21/06/2007 22:12

Well I didn't buy any MrsC, but I got goats cheese instead. I thought I'd have it in an omlette, with lettuce. I think it might be nice. Is it allowed?

Franny, do you really just say eat more veg and exercise a bit more? Is that really it? lol

Quattrocento · 21/06/2007 22:14

Yes need more exercise - I know - not sure where to find time for it really though

Quattrocento · 21/06/2007 22:15

I love goat's cheese. think you are being unfair even mentioning goat's cheese on a thread actually. Ah well. Another avenue of pleasure closed off

Mrscarrot · 21/06/2007 22:16

ooh, yes, goats cheese

fry up some potatoes with garlic and rosemary and put a goats cheese on top. Let it melt and go gooey and a bit burnt. Yum {have with piles of salad of course)

LOLOL at brassic I followed you to check for brie

FrannyandZooey · 21/06/2007 22:17

erm......what did you think I would say? I could advise you about the state of your sex life, or give you tips on how to make finger paint (and if you stick around I may well do so)

but really, being healthier is not rocket science, is it?

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 21/06/2007 22:18

lol. I still don't know what brassica is though. And SHE'S got no idea she's all dressed up as a pervy photographer in a basement in Plymouth.

FrannyandZooey · 21/06/2007 22:19

brassica [taps nose]

when you graduate to the inner circle we shall divulge the mysteries of the brassica

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 21/06/2007 22:21

So am I allowed goats cheese or not. I really don't know much about healthy eating, lol, why did Quatt go into a dead faint when I mentioned it?

Mrscarrot · 21/06/2007 22:21

Ahem, 100x

SHE was trying to look like a mysterious spy

Did you get the goats cheese 'recipe'? Nothing wrong with brie anyway, it's the brie and cappucino alone diet that is lacking.

FrannyandZooey · 21/06/2007 22:23

100x you can eat whatever you like

just make sure you leave room for your 10 f+v

some of us were also trying to eat 26 natural foods per day but it all got a bit messy (don't ask)

I get the feeling you were kind of hoping for more rules and regulations and a darn good talking to

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 21/06/2007 22:24

Yes I did thank you. But I want it in an omlette, can't I do that?
Oh god now I'm picking arguments. I'm just going to sit back and learn for a bit.

No not you MrsC, lol, cod was dressed as a pervy photographer trying to lure me into the basement, you were a spy, and very good one too if I may say.
