so we are doing this

I have so far drunk lemon water, green tea, and Rooibosh with rice milk

I have had the worst muesli known to man

did enjoy my rye bread and asparagus and poached egg for lunch

tonight it is salmon with broccoli and kale (looking forward to this)

but I do want to go to sleep

if the devil were here right now I would hand over all my chocolate for the next 5 years in exchange for a latte

btw you can take some supplements

but tbh it all depends what you are doing it for - I'm not going 100% organic cos I can't afford it, but for the reasons I'm doing it I don't think I need to

if you need to start taking your folic acid I should do it deffo

I would say however that I expected this to be hard like when I did crash diets as a teenager but it is not at all what I expected

oh noddy you are so right

I would far rather eat yogurt and spring greens than eat some of the bizarre desserts WW come up with to torture you

kiwi fruit with sugar free jelly anyone?

noddyholder · 28/05/2007 18:24

I bought the book and it is very interesting from a health point of view.

noddyholder · 28/05/2007 18:26

My sister had this WW pizza and I have never tasted anything so vile and it was full of c**p(sorry) You can eat REAL food and feel brilliant and fit I did it before and then fell off the wagon at xmas. The difference in my health is shocking if I'm honest.

littlepicklesmum · 28/05/2007 18:30

Oh, hadn't read previous thread ! I'll be interested to know if you do feel more energetic & thrush clears up. I eat pretty healthily anyway tbh - veg soups / stir fry / salads. But more energy to face the day would definatley help.
I just never seem to be able to stick to anything that i need to plan!

littlepicklesmum · 28/05/2007 18:34

Oh good grief i don't eat all the WW crap over priced food (appart from that one dessert), I just pay attention to what I eat!
Not saying this detox doesnt work at all!! was just interested in why!

Pollyanna · 28/05/2007 18:36

I am going to start tomorrow. I did this last year, and felt much better on it. But think i have food intolerances and am certainly addicted to sugar atm so really need to do something. dh is going on it as well because he is has put on a stone in less than a month and has a huge unattractive belly that starts at his chest

noddyholder · 28/05/2007 18:43

Hi Pollyanna dp is planning on joining me too!He is slim but knackered and we both are stress monkeys who love to eat rubbish when under pressure.I bought the book and am off to get the food tomorrow.I will find it a lot easier with him in tow I went to food for friends for lunch today which really inspired me xx

Cappuccino · 28/05/2007 19:50

ooh am very glad we are bulking up (in numbers not in personal size!)

welcome to noddy and pollyanna btw (didn't acknowledge you formally before )

I do find evenings the worst though because I cannot nibble on anything

cept an oatcake

OP posts:
noddyholder · 28/05/2007 19:58

Any snack recomendations?I am planning to stock up tomorrow as don't want any excuse to nibble other stuff.Rice cakes are ok too aren't they?

Pollyanna · 28/05/2007 21:05

oatcakes are actually quite calorific I believe (at least I know that on SW they are lots of syns per oatcake). I am planning on having carrot sticks and celery to nibble on - but not very inspiring

Hi Noddy - I really like Food for Friends. I feel much better when I cut out wheat definitely, and also am eating sweet things every meal practically.

I have stocked up on rice milk and porridge (I can't face the non-gluten stuff though) and lots of green veg. It's pretty difficult to do salad without cucumber, tomato or avocado or peppers though isn't it? I suppose it just leaves you with leaves?

Cappuccino · 28/05/2007 21:06

oatcakes I'm wolfing them down

carrots and bok choi ( to bok choi as a snack) and mangetout with hummus (which you should make yourself - fat chance)

but actually I really love live yogurt, I always have, so I've been having a bowl of that when I'm snacky

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 28/05/2007 21:07

I can't do salad without dressing

so I'm having to steam stuff

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 28/05/2007 21:07

what is Food for Friends?

OP posts:
Pollyanna · 28/05/2007 21:16

it's a veggie restaurant in Brighton. Very nice. I had a lovely mushroom dish when I was there last - sadly mushrooms are acidic too I think?

Cappucino, did you make the rye bread/poached egg combo up, or is the recipe in the book somewhere? I couldn't see many lunch recipes in there. I do remember eating the carrot soup alot last year - it is nice, and also there is a brown rice/wild rice pilaf which is nice I seem to remember. I think I will be living on oatcakes too.

noddyholder · 29/05/2007 07:55

I am up too early!I fell down the stairs outside yesterday but felt ok today I am in agony!I do like oatcakes but will try to stick with carrots and celery too.I am like you pollyanna when I get on a sugar roll I can't stop.I am hoping to improve my terrible sleeping Off for my hot water! Check in later xx

paulaplumpbottom · 29/05/2007 12:32

I want my latte

Pollyanna · 29/05/2007 13:52

I have succumbed to a coffee - no willpower here! (have had several herbal teas and hot water/lemon this morning though). I have had rye bread and porridge so far today though and made a veggie soup for tonight.

It's very difficult, there are alot of cakes and chocolate in our house atm.

Pollyanna · 29/05/2007 13:54

(in my defence I have also been up since about 4.30 this morning and am feeling exhausted and looking after 4 children all day).

MamaG · 29/05/2007 13:56

I enjoyed my chocolate orange today

however i now feel sick

noddyholder · 29/05/2007 16:09

Very virtuous here!Ginger tea rye bread homemade houmous!BUT I feel sooooooooo knackered I am craving a cup of tea with one sugar.Have bought some v healthy stuff for dinner am determined to give this a go.pollyanna 4 kids and one coffee is ok I am planning to adapt this after the 21 days as I can't live without one cup of tea in the afternoon

Cappuccino · 29/05/2007 18:23

at coffee

it is really kicking in now I am starving

I have had my nice banana yogurt shake and rice cornflakes (I have discovered on closer inspection that they have grape juice in them but ffs, I can't find anything else and this crackly muesli does my head in if I don't liquidise it)

last night we stuck the chicken carcass in the slow cooker to make a stock so today I had the most fab soup with the leftover roast squash and carrot from yesterday

later today I discovered I actually like carrots and hummus after laughing my arse off at anyone eating one in front of me for years

but after my haddock and purple sprouting broccoli I find that now I am so hungry I could eat the kids

also I have a sore throat so am craving Strepsils

Pollyanna yes I did make the asparagus thing up, I'm making most of it up tbh because he doesn't have enough recipes for my liking

however I am going to try the - oh god - brussels sprouts dish tomorrow night while the family tuck into spag bol (the rest of the time they're having what I'm having with a token potato )

OP posts:
noddyholder · 29/05/2007 18:25

noddyholder · 29/05/2007 18:26

Pollyanna · 29/05/2007 18:43

I have had my veg soup now (at 4.30 actually!).

I am not hungry now as I am too tired to be hungry.

Cappuccino - the haddock dish sounds nice, but I definitely couldn't eat the sprouts one .
