so we are doing this

I have so far drunk lemon water, green tea, and Rooibosh with rice milk

I have had the worst muesli known to man

did enjoy my rye bread and asparagus and poached egg for lunch

tonight it is salmon with broccoli and kale (looking forward to this)

but I do want to go to sleep

if the devil were here right now I would hand over all my chocolate for the next 5 years in exchange for a latte

well I have eaten his 'spicy wild rice' and though it wasn't particularly spicy, it was ok

though I can't see G Paltrow eating it

stir-fried some of frozen chicken from weekend's roast and flung in a couple of handfuls of spinach too - it actually felt like a proper dinner

a bit alarmed at what I will take to eat for lunch tomorrow - am working at an office with no microwave so no soups, scrambled egg

I cannot take half a raw cabbage

Ok I'm done, I passed out this afternoon

noddyholder · 01/06/2007 07:06

OMG Pau;a are you eating enough?

noddyholder · 01/06/2007 09:32

where are you all? Have we not even lasted the week out? My dp is on a mission so I can't be the one to eat a biscuit which is probably quite good.I slept really well last night hoping it will last.Food is having an extreme laxative effect though(sorry of tmi)today and I have a few viewings on my house which could be embarressing

paulaplumpbottom · 01/06/2007 12:18

noddyholder · 01/06/2007 12:47

I might have to 'faint'for the weekend

Judy1234 · 01/06/2007 13:39

I haven't got that book but it sounds quite hard - no wheat, dairy, alcohol, potato, fruit but I can understand why it's good for you.

What does it say about meat and about brown rice (which I eat a lot of ).

Cappuccino · 01/06/2007 17:05

Paula ohmigod eat something!

what are you eating? There's loads of stuff to fill yourself up with

I am chock full today of almond nut butter and oatcakes - I won't lose any weight with the amount of fat I crammed down today - get some of that down you

noddy I am still here tho tired but that's more because dd2 got up at 5 than because of the diet

I am not farting - I don't actually think I am eating as much veg as you perhaps? You are very good. What are you having veg-wise? I know he says 40% of your diet should be raw veg but I do not do raw and I'm definitely not managing 40% veg.

Xenia yes brown rice, no meat (except chicken and turkey)

tonight is tuna and capers and green beans

today I had carrot soup from healthy food shop - it might have had a dot of potato in it but what the hell can you buy in town??

and all these oatcakes.. and this nut butter (yum).. oh and some mangetout and houmous

Still going had green tean this am and banana on oat cakes as they are the only fruit allowed and I was desperate.I am making carrot soup today and am going to have some chicken with it Ds is back from his school trip tomorrow so there will be more temptations in the cupboards No slimmer although batteries gone in scales so not sure.Went out last night to celebrate getting an offer on our house and had the healthy vegi option but it had mushrooms in it which i did eat.Had 1 glass of organic wine but drank a whole large bottle of water too.Back on track today I hope Good luck everyone xx

Judy1234 · 02/06/2007 11:54

It sounds quite hard to follow. If I were on it I've been known to eat 9 bananas a day or 20 oat cakes or a whole back of rice cakes which then is as many calories as a small meal. I just don't think I'd lose weight but I'm interested because it seems healthy.

noddyholder · 02/06/2007 11:56

It does feel healthy but is limited.I am like that xenia I can end up eating about 20 rice cakes and i don't even like them! But I 'feel'like it is doing me good No bread caffeine etc I find easy. But fruit is hard and I don't think I cn do without it indefinitely

Judy1234 · 02/06/2007 12:00

Whenever I try to eat less or better I end up switching from chocolate to fruit. I just like the sweetness of it and I can see that it would be interesting to give it up. I can easily buy massive quantities of cherries and strawberries and end up eating more calories on them than a normal meat, rice, veg meal.

It sounds a lot to give up at once. Sugar, dairy and fruit and diet coke all at once would be hard for me. I just ordered the book for £1.80 on line second hand so we'll see....happily sipping diet coke here for the moment.

Cappuccino · 02/06/2007 12:31

it's actually easier to eat completely differently than it is to cut out one or two things

(though I have replaced all the fat in my diet with almond nut butter as of yesterday )

turkey thighs and veg for lunch tho going out to friend's later and do not know what she will make

noddy well done for being sooo good

From the book review it supposedly removes cravings for things but I'll wait and see.

noddyholder · 02/06/2007 13:00

Houmous keeps me sane!

noddyholder · 02/06/2007 13:00

btw my skin looks amazing but I am still fat and knackered

Judy1234 · 02/06/2007 13:21

I've never had it. My daughter has it on the shopping list for her each week. I don't even know how to pronounce it.

Judy1234 · 02/06/2007 14:10

There are some good reports on line about it and this quite funny one - a diary written by a man at the Guardian. Actually there are many more positive than his.

Pollyanna · 02/06/2007 14:28

I did really well yesterday (at work so no temptations) - do you think that endamame (sp?) beans are alkaline? I also ate a bag of carrot batons from M&S. I can't eat bananas as they give me stomach ache, so am feeling really fruit deprived.

I just had to have a glass of wine at lunchtime today (I had the 4 screeching brats with me so it was medicinal ) I did have a green salad with it though!

My children are all eating porridge with rice milk for breakfast now, and they steal my oat cakes too. So they will probably be more detoxed than me. I have done well cutting out wheat and dairy and sweet stuff though, and onlly had a decaf soya cappuccino from starbucks once this week! I am sleeping much better though.
I am going to try to make your hommous this afternoon Noddy. (I hope the open house has gone well )

noddyholder · 02/06/2007 14:40

Didn't do the open house as we sold yesterday!I had one glass of wine to celebrate last night.Have bought some lovely chicken and am trying to think of something interesting to do with it.dp doing brilliantly even went to bills for lunch yesterday which he never normally would as a)too tight and b)he loves sandwiches!

Cappuccino · 03/06/2007 09:50

hi pollyanna - have you tried whizzing the bananas up in yogurt to make a smoothie? I do that at breakfast. Broccoli always makes my tummy hurt so I usually have it in soups if I'm having it

noddy hurrah! take it you have somewhere to move to?

Xenia I will look at that link later but am currently running in and out - making chocolate biscuits for dd's rainbow cake stall (oh god I can't eat any of them it is torture)

yesterday went out to bbq at friend's but managed to only 'sin' by eating a bit of potato in a chickpea curry and a small burger and having a cup of tea. No wine - was easy actually as was driving so didn't have to go into detail, and had salad

I reckon that was pretty good considering the sheer amount of cake that was knocking about

broccoli and beet soup for lunch, going to make joshi's curry later - dh is pleased but
