My periods have always been okay. Never hurt, bled for 5 days usually until I developed pcos. Period then were wobbly but I was never in pain and it was for 3/5 days. Just not every month
I had ds 10 weeks ago and 2 days ago I came on since the birth.
It's horrific. I'm doubled over, I'm dizzy with it and paracetamol doesn't help me at all.
I wear a super heavy tampon, a pad, two pairs of kickers and I keep bleeding through it when I'm wearing it all at the same time. I've just woke up to find myself feeling soaked and sore and the amount of blood in my bed. I Could cry. I'm getting a doctors appointment first thing today but someone please hold my hand and tell me this can be normal

This sounds terrible. Do you think you could be haemorrhaging ? If so you need to get to hospital. Is anyone with you ? Call111 and ask their advice.

Canwejustrelaxnow · 06/06/2018 05:16

Definitely seek medical advice immediately. Anything could be going on inside. Please ring 111 now. Or go to a&e.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 06/06/2018 05:18

Oh that sounds awful Flowers

I’m pretty sure that much blood warrants a trip to A & E... can you call 111 to advise?

Dinoraw · 06/06/2018 05:21

I don't know. I've got dp sleeping next to me and my dcs also with me. It's literally and sorry to be grim all dripping down despite pads, tampons. I'm really really worried. 111 if it could be a hemorrhage? I didn't even think of it :(

Leave dp with the kids and call a cab or 111. Routines might have to change this morning.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 06/06/2018 05:29

Please wake your DP and call 111.

SnowGoArea · 06/06/2018 05:32

Oh you poor thing, that sounds dreadful.

This sounds way more than a period and in need of medical attention. 111 for sure, but be prepared that they may say a&e because of the amount of blood you are describing losing. That's not to say you should panic, I'm sure all will be fine, but it does need checking out.

Dinoraw · 06/06/2018 05:34

I'm really frightened. What if its something really bad? :( dp is up and phoning 111.
It feels like 5cm contractions none stop. It did all yesterday I had to keep breathing through housework

OP posts:
SnowGoArea · 06/06/2018 05:37

Please don't be frightened, it's going to be fine. It could be any number of things that aren't panic-worthy, but are more than you should manage at home.

Do you feel able to phone 111?

SnowGoArea · 06/06/2018 05:38

Sorry missed that your dp is phoning

J4nice · 06/06/2018 05:41

Elivate your body to slow bleeding ( they taught me that in first aid) I'm not a doctor call for help now don't wait go to a doctor

Crownandheelshigh · 06/06/2018 05:43

Oh bless you, hope you get sorted and it's nothing serious however go get checked. Sending a virtual hug xx

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 06/06/2018 05:49

Please don’t be frightened, you’re doing the right thing by seeking help. Let us know how you get on.

BrutusMcDogface · 06/06/2018 05:53

Oh I'm glad you're calling. I think you need to go in. Could be any number of things but as you've got a 10 week old could it be retained placenta or something? I'm not medical though so just hoping you get seen and are ok.

OuaisMaisBon · 06/06/2018 06:01

Hope you're all right OP, and are being seen by a doctor now.

Turns out 111 aren't all that helpful. They left us with if I'm filling another pad within the hour to phone back. I changed a tampon when I wrote this. (almost an hour ago and a heavy flow tampon) already blood is pouring down my legs and I'm still doubled in pain. (currently taking a bath to try and ease this a bit) apparently heavier and more painful periods after birth are normal. But not to this extent surely?
My nearest and most decent A&E are open from 8am. It's looking like I'll have to go there.

This sounds v serious. I think you should go to a and e and soon. Ambulance if necessary.

keiratwiceknightly · 06/06/2018 06:15

And I'm not a flapper/panicked usually.

AJPTaylor · 06/06/2018 06:15

a and e are open 24 hrs. i would just go there straight away.

Wallywobbles · 06/06/2018 06:15

I think I'd just go to A&E now. No waiting.

Littletreefrog · 06/06/2018 06:18

Ignore Wesherbu I would get to A&E to be honest, even if they say it is normal (which it doesn't sound like it is) you might need a blood transfusion/iron tablets etc depending how much blood you have lost

TenuedeNimes · 06/06/2018 06:18

I don’t want to overdramatise but if you are seriously worried then you might need to phone an ambulance.

The feeling I get from your posts is that you’re really feeling that something’s not right here. I think you need to listen to that feeling. Is there another out of hours number you could call or something like that? (Sorry, I live in a big city with
24/7 services and I’m not sure how it is where you are.)

I’m seriously not much of a panicker but I think we are taught to minimise women’s health issues and/or anything to do with periods. But you recently gave birth and you are telling us that you’re very worried. You clearly need to be seen asap.
