Good evening

Our previous thread is here

If you've got cancer, this is the thread for you. Introduce yourself and feel free to ask any questions. We also welcome anyone who is waiting for cancer tests. We know how scary it can be. So don't be shy. We will happily hold your hand and hopefully wave goodbye when you get good news :)

purple - I am so sorry to read that. I have no idea what to say but I am thinking of you. Flowers

basher I hope Friday bring some better news than you fear Flowers.

I finally stopped bleeding after 15 days but have felt awful the last couple of days with weird stomach pains and a strange feeling like I've eaten something non food Confused.

I have my appointment! Scan next Wednesday. nervous

purpleunicorns · 14/06/2018 14:51

Glad you're feeling a bit better Leslie Smile**

I forgot about being radioactive after the scan, I should have mentioned the possible kidney infection sooner as I'm guessing they won't be able to test properly until it leaves my system. Hopefully I'll manage to get into see a doctor tomorrow. If not I'm back at hospital on Friday for my pre assessment so I'll ask then

Glad you've finally got an appointment Year, is it an MRI you're getting? I fell asleep in the pet scanner, far too comfortable Grin

purpleunicorns · 14/06/2018 14:52

As you can tell from that last message I'm still half asleep Blush

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 14/06/2018 15:30

Do you have a cancer nurse purple? I'd maybe phone her today and ask what you should do. If it's a kidney infection then it really needs treatment ASAP. You're not so radioactive that you'll harm anyone, unless you're hugging them, but they'd probably want to put you in a separate room not the main waiting room, or maybe have a GP come out to you on a flying pig. I'm glad you managed a sleep in the scanner Grin fingers crossed for your results

Year great that you finally have an appointment! I hope that you feel better soon Flowers

Lol! I wondered why you were shouting purple!!! Grin

Hope your adhesions start behaving Leslie - they don’t sound fun. A break from chemo can only be a good thing though I suppose!

Hooray mrsp for the good news! I remember Easter - that’s when everything started to go a bit pear-shaped for me too! Here’s to a better Easter next year!

Good luck basher and also good luck for your scan next week Year!

Taytotots · 14/06/2018 19:42

MrsP great that you are up and about already (with or without Hermione Grin).
Leslie glad you're improving, hope you feel better soon.
Year glad you got your appointment through. Good luck for Wednesday.
Purple my daughter would be very jealous of that hot water bottle too! I have to admit to being a bit addicted to my heat pad (like a mini electric blanket). Great for stomach pain. Hope you get your kidney infection sorted.
I'm feeling rubbish today, just very tired so shouldn't moan, and meant to be working from home but have retreated to bed. Last chemo starts tomorrow Grin - bit worried about having the oxaliplatin with no picc line but hopefully will be ok - will take my trusty heat pad along!

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 14/06/2018 20:24

I have a heat pad too Tayto. I had a belt version too when my pains were really bad. I basically lived in it. It sounds like bed is the best place for you right now :) good luck with your last chemo Flowers

purple is it your EUA tomorrow? And/or pre-op assessment? Whatever's going on, good luck :) and I hope you are feeling better this evening.

Waving to everyone else!

TQ meant to say the other day, I go to the chemo unit for bloods so they can use my port. So unfortunately I don't get to skip the queue Grin

purple I'm having an ultrasound of my pelvis according to my letter.

Thank you for the good luck messages now if someone could just make my 13 year old behave at school.....

chasegirl · 14/06/2018 20:42

Hello. Am feeling quietly terrified. Got my sentinel lymph node biopsy result tomorrow so find out what my next treatment is.
Every time I have been to the hospital things have been worse than originally thought.
Feel like crying but no tears.

YearOfYouRemember · 14/06/2018 21:00

I'm sorry to hear that chase.. Do you have someone who can go with you?

Petalflowers · 14/06/2018 21:06

Haven’t contributed to this thread for ages (bc six years ago, almost tomthe day I discovered the lump). However, having one of those moments when my boob hurts. I’ve had breast pain before and have always been told it’s hormones. Maybe it is. Under arm aches a little also which i’ve Had before, trying to convince myself i’m Having a hyperchondriac moment as it’s close to my ‘anniversary’, and the pain will disappear once the anniversary passes.

Thanks for listening.

chasegirl · 14/06/2018 21:21

Yes my sister is coming with me. Not sure I will sleep well tonight at all

TwitterQueen1 · 14/06/2018 21:23

Petal I guess the fear never goes away does it? Sorry you're worried - you know you need to get it checked out though, don't you.

Chase and Purple good luck tomorrow.

The rat (teacup Yorkie) goes home tomorrow - hurray! I can't cope with anymore early wake-ups. It was 5.45am again today. I gave her a good bath and washed all her bedding again yesterday - she hasn't wee'd on me today though. That's a win Grin

purpleunicorns · 14/06/2018 21:46

I'm not so sure it is a kidney infection, it's still painful but when I've had kidney infections in the past they've been so painful I literally couldn't move. I've got my pre assessment in the morning ready for my eua on Monday so if it's still painful I'll mention it then

Tayto I love my hot water bottles and I liked unicorns before they became cool Grinrest while you can, I found the steroids I had on the day of chemo kept me awake all night

Good luck tomorrow chase and hopefully it's not as bad as you're expecting Thanks

Petal I had a painful boob and underarm and also a lump a few weeks ago that turned out to be nothing. Get it checked out though if only to put your mind at ease

TQ I bet you'll miss the rat when she's gone Grin I'd love a houseful of animals but I haven't got the time to look after them all

addlebrained · 14/06/2018 22:48

Hi petal - yes get someone to help by having a look and hopefully put your mind at rest. I can’t imagine a time when any little bowel symptom won’t take me to that place too, now that we are on our ‘journeys’ but fingers crossed it settles straightaway Flowers

Good luck chase - I wish there was something I could add that was wise and removed all anxiety for you! Huge luck tomorrow Flowers

And Glitterball for everyone (my concentration is fading and am sleepy but thinking of you all! And I just love the glitterball... Wink)

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 15/06/2018 09:10

Good morning

chasegirl good luck with your results today. Good that your sister will be with you Flowers

purple it might "just" be stress/anxiety or something. It can cause all sorts of weird physical symptoms. Hopefully you'll get some answers and relief today either way. Good luck with your pre-op assessment :)

addle I love the glitterball too. Maybe we should make that our official symbol Glitterball I hope you had a good sleep

petal lots of people do get anxious around their anniversary so hopefully it is that. Do you still have a BCN you could talk to about it? Did you post under a different name before? I joined the thread about five and a half years ago so we probably overlapped :) I've namechanged quite a few times since then!

TQ I'm glad the rat is leaving! You've been amazingly patient with her :)

Have as lovely a day as possible lacies :)

purpleunicorns · 15/06/2018 12:55

Have you been seen yet Chase? I hope you're getting on ok Thanks

The nurse I saw at my pre assessment said she couldn't check to see if I had a kidney infection because she's not allowed to prescribe anything so she told me to ring 111. Luckily after getting past the dragon at the doctors reception the doctors taken pity on me so I have an appointment at 3:30 Grin

Petal do you have a appointment about your pain yet? It's more than likely nothing but please get yourself seen

addlebrained · 15/06/2018 15:24

Thanks Leslie yes it was short but quite a good sleep! Lol! Glitterball

Good luck with the GP purple - hope it’s all clear for you...

Hope all ok chase too and you have been seen...

Has anyone had anxiety and nausea before chemo? I’m thinking this might be a problem for me when I go for my next cycle (not for another 12 days tho!) and wondering what was effective for those who experience this... just really wish I could get of the chemo bus! Really don’t want the same reaction I had last time!

chasegirl · 15/06/2018 15:25

Hello everyone. Had the best news I could get.

My sentinel lymph node biopsy was clear so just need radiotherapy and will be on tamoxifen for 5 years. Will be checked yearly for 5 years too.

I can't stop shaking with relief. Wish my Dad had known this before he died. He passed just after my operation.

Glad you got an appointment Purple.

Taytotots · 15/06/2018 15:35

Fantastic news chase GlitterballGlitterballGlitterball - or is that overkill Grin.

I find I get quite anxious before my IV but haven't had nausea. Do you have zofran? That's been the best anti-noise a one for me. I don't blame you for feeling anxious after last time though.

Just finished my last oxaliplatin IV Grin.

Dulcedelecherocks · 15/06/2018 15:40

Chase that's amazing news. So pleased for you and I'm sure your dad knows x

Adle i get very anxious on the lead up to iv and I haven't done or taken anything apart from wine and baileys! Haven't had nausea though.
*
Tayto* how was your last iv? How are you feeling? I'm a few days behind you, my last one is on the 25th.

I'm feeling positive as this cycle is almost over and I'm trying to look forward to going back to work as well as enjoying the summer and going away. Very nervous about results due next week but that can't be helped.

addlebrained · 15/06/2018 15:42

Excellent news chase!!! Congrats! Have a large Glitterball !

Oh Tayto I am so jealous!! I wish I’d finished my last one! How are you able to text?! I can’t see straight and can barely walk after oxaliplatin! Unfortunately Zofran didn’t work last time so I’m going to try something new this time (new and expensive apparently Grin)....

addlebrained · 15/06/2018 15:44

Dulce which results is it? The bronchoscopy? I am also jealous of you being so near the end of your pox oxy EnvyGrin
