dh back on Chemo

The last round hit him so hard they gave him 2 weeks off. They also reduced the dose to 80%. he had his dose at lunch time

Poor man had already been violently sick twice. And this is insipte of 3 different anti emetics. I don't think that he can carry on like this for much longer, even if they have said the treatment can continue

The thing is the two weeks off were almost like having the old dh back, before the cancer and before the chemo

Bastard fucking disease

God, mb you both must be emotionally and physically knackered!

I wish you both strength for the days ahead. You're both so inspiring. Kindest regards to your wonderful dh

ArtichokeTagine · 01/05/2007 19:36

MB - you don't "know" me so to speak. But I have read bits of your story and I really feel for you. I just wanted to ask if your DH has tried acupuncture to deal with the sickness? When my mum had chemo a friend came to her house and gave her acupuncture and it seemed to help. Mum was pretty sceptical but it did seem to make a difference.

MB, I don't know if you 'do' hugs but have one anyway {{{{{{{ }}}}}}. You've been so strong for your dh, you're really amazing. It's the hardest thing to watch your dh being so ill, I remember it all too well. When will be his next round?

MegaLegs · 01/05/2007 19:36

So sorry MB. How long will the sickness last?

I echo Artichoke's post. My dh had reiki a couple of times and it seemed to 'help' him relax if nothing else.

Blandmum · 01/05/2007 19:38

Tablets are taken for the rest of this week and then he has another infusion on Tuesday.

It is, I think, the infusion that he finds most difficult to cope with.

Up to last round(last month) the antiemetics worked very well. Each round just gets harder.
