The last round hit him so hard they gave him 2 weeks off. They also reduced the dose to 80%. he had his dose at lunch time

Poor man had already been violently sick twice. And this is insipte of 3 different anti emetics. I don't think that he can carry on like this for much longer, even if they have said the treatment can continue

The thing is the two weeks off were almost like having the old dh back, before the cancer and before the chemo

Bastard fucking disease

so sorry to hear this mb. thinking of you all

Blandmum · 02/05/2007 06:53

Wrinklytum. He is on 4 ondansetron a day and three metaclopromide. The cyclazine as 'as and when' he needs it. So to be fair to the medics, they are not stinting on the antiemetics. They give him IV metaclopromide with the Gemcitapine. The capacitopine doesn't seem to make he as sick and he takes that oraly.

The trouble is that the cancer also makes him nauseaous

But thank uyou for the feedback

mb: I've recently heard that cannabis can help reduce sickness after chemo. Don't know about your stance on that, but might it be worth investigating?

As if he wasn't feeling sick enough already!

lets hope he has a better day today and gets to enjoy the sunshine..

suedonim · 02/05/2007 17:34

Your poor dh. I read in an American magazine of a drug that protects aginst nausea/sickness for about a week - maybe you could ask your medics if they know about it?

jalopy · 02/05/2007 17:55

How was the day for your dh, MB?

SherlockLGJ · 02/05/2007 17:59

Oh MB. Nothing to say , but I am thinking of you all and praying for you all.

Much love

Just some more info.

He had a poor night but woke this morning in reasonably good form. He hasb't felt sick at all today. Although he needed a nap this afternoon, he even managed to go into work for a few hours this monring!

So a much better day,

Thank you for all your support, it was a great help yesterday, I was really down, thinking that he would have to stop the chemo altogether.

Thanks again!

sorry to hear things have been rough mb - chemo's a horrid thing, isn't it.

That dh of yours is a tough cookie isn't he - hope he continues to keep his food down and feels a bit more human.

best wishes to you both.

Oh MB, don't know what to say to you.
So pleased he's had a better day today - hopefully these will outnumber the shitty ones for a while.
Thinking of you and your fabulous family and sending you all the love and strength I can.xx

imaginaryfriend · 02/05/2007 21:56

I'm glad he had a better day MB. He sounds like such a trooper going into work and all that!

Tamum · 03/05/2007 17:56

How were things today mb? Really hoping for some good news.

Marina · 03/05/2007 17:57

Yes, how did things go?

Blandmum · 03/05/2007 18:00

He felt sick this morning, but hasn't been sick all day. He is tired, but we can cope with that.

We had a chat about it last night. He feels that one day of puking is a reasonable trade off, if it gets us more 9good) time. More than that and it becomes questionable.

He has a scan tomorroew, but we will not get the results for a few weeks.
