All welcome - for anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat, so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss, but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information here (follow the link at the very bottom of the page)

ash6605 · 26/04/2007 19:52

Aargh your all going to kill me.been to work today(i'm only part-time)and forgot to take lunch with me.so had to(!!) have had steak, mash, cauli and broccoli followed by a thick wad of cheesecake.this was after 3 slices of toast and before a slice of battenburg cake.oh and stopped off for a drink after work.so certainly no 10 fruit/veg for me today.as for tea, still not fully recovered from my vertigo so off to bed soon,no tea for me.sorry girls i'm a really bad example.

Fillyjonk · 26/04/2007 20:07

FrannyandZooey · 26/04/2007 20:33

Oh Filly How can they possibly be staying so long?

OP posts:
Fillyjonk · 26/04/2007 20:36

oh god i dunno

and I know enough about the law and how the courts work to be at the idea that a case could unexpectedly last an extra week.

FrannyandZooey · 26/04/2007 20:40

my god you have my deepest sympathy on this

OP posts:
Fillyjonk · 26/04/2007 20:43

oh it seems there are TWO cases

both unexpectedly and astonishingly held in consecutive weeks

big

right i am extremely close to fecking off to the gym and letting him put two overexcited kids to bed

FrannyandZooey · 26/04/2007 20:44

why just close?

OP posts:
sibble · 26/04/2007 21:14

Cappuccino · 26/04/2007 21:22

hang on

Franny why should I have binned my salad?

FrannyandZooey · 26/04/2007 21:24

only because I had this vision of you sitting there in front of it for hours, forlornly waiting for someone to come along and give you a bit of encouragement

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 26/04/2007 21:30

oh I see

filly much sympathy re your in-laws

can you draw big spots on your face and take to your bed with a terrible disease

they would surely either leave in horror or look after your children for a few days while you cackled under the sheets

(they might notice you climbing out the window on a rope of knotted pillowcases to go out for your run tho')

have done well

have had apple, banana, raisins, The Salad (which was a full litre mixing bowl full so is 2 or 3 - dd2 didn't help me at all) orange, and cauli and carrots with tea

and a run

and walked to nursery instead of driving

FrannyandZooey · 26/04/2007 21:33

We had broccoli and green beans and corn for dinner, forgot that

am trying to eat more green leafy veg but I still don't know what they are

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 26/04/2007 21:47

I saw the thread asking what was green leafy veg, but was too boggled by title to enter. Surely it's lettuce, cabbage, pak choi, spring greens, etc etc? Confused

Had giant stir fry for tea. Am very tired.

I am finding myself very hungry these days. If I have a 'good' day and avoid sugar (I had a decaf latte with one sugar in it.), then I feel ok, but I'm convinced I'm just not eating enough. But if I eat more stir fry and brown rice, I will explode.

Oh, and I walked to town, again.

Tomorrow I am doing a shift and then walking to town. My bike's rear tyre went again, obviously I have done something wrong, but I can't face looking into it right now.

Not with a shift tomorrow morning, then hosting a sew up on Saturday and then another (food!) shift on Monday.

Oh, and DS2 is still fairly ill. He did go to the co-op this morning, but they called me at noon to say he was a bit wrong, so I went to collect/join him early.

My shift tomorrow is to make up for the upcoming bank holiday, but there are three people owing shifts becuase of that, but neither of the other two can do it. So I am probably going in, unless DS2 is very ill indeed.

(I sorta think that going in to the co-op today was good for him, as he slept for 2 hours this afternoon, in the pram, and was in much better shape afterwards.)

TooTicky · 26/04/2007 22:33

Cauli, carrot, leek, orange, apple, more carrot, edamame.
Exhausting day with shopping and much worry over bus drivers. And now dd2 has WORMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am mortified and a bit of to wherever the hell she got them from. Have no experience of worms.

TooTicky · 27/04/2007 07:13

WHAT? I'm on the puter this early for once and there's NOBODY about?

TooTicky · 27/04/2007 07:18

Helloooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
Where are all the early morning people?

NotQuiteCockney · 27/04/2007 07:35

Worms are really easy to get. How old is DD2? Does she suck her thumb?

I have another insane day, but at least got a good night's sleep.

Arse, just realised I forgot to put plasters on DS1's thumbs before school .

TooTicky · 27/04/2007 07:37

Oh well, perhaps I'll tidy up the 10/10 zone a bit while I'm waiting.

TooTicky · 27/04/2007 07:38

Ooh, hello, NQC! No, she doesn't suck her thumb. None of my dcs have had worms before so I am still in

TooTicky · 27/04/2007 07:41

Oh, dd2 is nearly 22 months old. Has recewntly potty-trained herself and when she has to use toilets when we are out, puts her hands on the seat. Of course I always wash her but am wondering if this is how she got them.

NotQuiteCockney · 27/04/2007 07:42

It's quite hard to work out where they're from. I don't think there would normally be worms on a toilet seat. The easy way to get it is from another child's hands, or a sandpit, where other children have been playing.

Nails short, lots of handwashing.
