Girls, generally, say 18-21 year olds, labia size and no pubic hair? Normal? Picture attached. Warning.

I'm sorry for asking this question. I just wondered.
Have recently seen a few clips from tv show 'Naked Attraction'.
I know its not everyone's cup of tea. Quite contentious.

Not of much interest to me either really.
But I was quite fascinated by all the girls. Young, pretty, lovely.

But they all had very very neat labia. none hanging down.
AND they all had no pubic hair at all. Not even a French with a small strip of pubic hair.
All completely hair free.

So, is very neat? AND no pubic hair, completely the norm, these days?

Will our teenage boys, encounter this, as the norm?

I attach a picture, of which I just googled, just to show how neat and tight and firm all the labia on the show looked. Hope its not offensive.

@CoteDAzur by referencing my limited experience I was attempting to debunk the idea some posters idea that long labia are caused by age, sexual promiscuousness, or other aggravated use of the vulva. Yes extra long labia can be abnormal and require correction ( at the vagina possessors discretion and choice) but I'm just trying to say that not having a picture perfect fanny ... is ok.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/09/2017 22:21

Both are completely normal. Everyone comes in all sorts of shapes as anyone who watches the programme will know. The Great wall of Vagina is testament to how different everyone is. Any doctor or nurse say the same.

It's only because everyone shaves now that it's become a thing, no one gave a fig 30 years ago as most people rocked a bush.

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 22:21

"I myself cannot wear lace underwear because it causes discomfort, I hate my outie vagina ... but I know that this is because of the misogynistic frame placed onto my own vaginal image."

So lace underwear is uncomfortable because of misogynistic conditioning? Confused

I don't wear lace at all, as I find it uncomfortable even on my arms. It must be the misogyny Hmm

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:23

@CoteDAzur no lace underwear is uncomfortable because of my vaginal anatomy .. perhaps I should have used a comma here. The dislike of my vagina is caused by misogynistic conditioning . Sorry for the confusion .

Xeneth88 · 13/09/2017 22:25

Sorry but there is no way the first one is "the norm".

Bellabelloo · 13/09/2017 22:29

I am 40 and have always ensured I am hair free 'down there'. And nothing dangles down. Even after childbirth.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:31

Surely there is no 'norm'?

There is normal, or healthy, there is culturally normal or popular media normal, but speaking of vaginas it is probably more relavent to to say the 'mean' or average vagina. We vary either way.

Anyway, the first vagina existed and as such does not deserve to be criticised so harshly, maybe?

Xeneth88 · 13/09/2017 22:32

Same @bellabelloo, and all I've encountered through work are similar. The first pic is a before of a surgery before/after.

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 22:32

I don't think you need to hate your fanjo because it doesn't look like most other people's. There are features of my anatomy that are so odd unusual that they attract attention from yoga teachers.

So what, really? I wish I could blame it on misogyny but can't, really. Grin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/09/2017 22:34

You're right Beatrice

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:36

@CoteDAzur okay maybe misogyny was the wrong phrase ... cultural pressure, societal expectation?
All I know is I've felt bad about my foof since I was about 14 because of things people say ( think the ever present 'ew beef sandwich' , ' I swear she had hanging gammon' comments at school - not about me-) and this to me says that western society looks down on the humble labia .. and this thread somewhat minorly proves that.

Either way I just want the women here - usually supportive, inclusive, open- to maybe consider their phrasing a bit more for those of us more sensitive to the issue.

SuzukiLi · 13/09/2017 22:36

I made a comment on the other thread about someone the pics being terrifying. I didn't mean it to be discriminatory. I find ALL fannies terrifying. Which is why I like penis. Very much.

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 22:38

"Anyway, the first vagina existed and as such does not deserve to be criticised so harshly, "

First there was the Vagina.

And the Vagina shall not be criticised.

You are fantastic tonight, Beatrice Grin

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 22:41

"I've felt bad about my foof since I was about 14 because of things people say"

Well, you can either decide not to give any fucks about what people say OR you can go get yourself a plastic surgeon.

Crying out at the world about misogyny etc isn't going to help you. Either of the above probably will.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:42

😂😂 @CoteDAzur

And on the seventh day ... the vagina rested.

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 22:42

And will you please stop placing @ before my full name? I've had enough emails tonight about you mentioning me on MN.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:44

@CoteDAzur I can feel a little self conscious still but also not give enough fucks to have surgery I think ... I prefer to dwell in a grey are

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:45

Area

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:45

Sorry mate I'm used to other SM accounts where @ is used to tag ... didn't realise you didn't need to do it here BlushBlush

shouldnthavesaid · 13/09/2017 22:46

Anyway, the first vagina existed and as such does not deserve to be criticised so harshly, maybe?

I agree .. I'm probably writing the wrong things. I get upset very easily over this and couldn't cope at the time with the surgery I had , wasnt cared for or supported very well in lots of ways (at 19, having your vulva chopped up is terrifying) and have a substantial hatred of my own vulva for all the problems it's caused me :( I'm 26 and I've never had any sort of sexual relationship , at least in part down to this situation.

[Flowers] to anyone I've accidentally offended.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:48

It's okay @shouldnthavesaid I have a feeling I've offended a buttload of people on here tonight. I'm sorry about your experience .. have you sought any counselling .. that sounds like an ordeal at a v young age xx Flowers

Ojoj1974 · 13/09/2017 22:49

Yikes.im in my 40's and have never seen anything like pix 1.
Neat labia and perfectly trimmed works for me .
My labia certiantly hasn't changed with childbirth- thank goodness

Fewregrets · 13/09/2017 22:52

The picture does not help this discussion because it is of a pre and post op, not the 'norm' the op was asking about, nor the fannies in Naked Attraction the op refers to.

Mulch · 13/09/2017 22:53

Labias come in all shapes and sizes, sadly some women won't realise this as the only images they come accross are pornographic which isn't representative of all women. It's a shame surgery is on the rise, I understand if it causes discomfort there's an obvious need but going through surgery to meet male ideals is a real shame. One more thing to constantly worry about

PollyPerky · 14/09/2017 09:53

On reflection, having posted a few times here, I think it's bad that the OP didn't make it clear these were 'before and after' shots. If that had been pointed out it would make it easier to see that the left hand shot was of a woman who was at one end of the size spectrum, and the right hand shot was after her operation.

There is a lot of unnecessary emotion and defensiveness on this thread. I don't care what any woman looks like. What matters is how she feels and if her labia are uncomfortable if they hang down. From a purely aesthetic point , I can say which I prefer to look at, and that's my right. Just as it's anyone's right to say they like the look of certain breast shapes, arms, legs, body shapes, whether they are a man or a woman.
It doesn't follow that women or men whose bodies are different to those aesthetic preferences are inferior or abnormal.

The fault if you want to blame anyone is the programme being discussed where men (supposedly) 'choose' a woman by the size of her labia etc. Do not forget this is TV! They are being primed to make comments for the sake of the programme. In RL they may have no preference at all, but that doesn't make good TV does it?
