Girls, generally, say 18-21 year olds, labia size and no pubic hair? Normal? Picture attached. Warning.

I'm sorry for asking this question. I just wondered.
Have recently seen a few clips from tv show 'Naked Attraction'.
I know its not everyone's cup of tea. Quite contentious.

Not of much interest to me either really.
But I was quite fascinated by all the girls. Young, pretty, lovely.

But they all had very very neat labia. none hanging down.
AND they all had no pubic hair at all. Not even a French with a small strip of pubic hair.
All completely hair free.

So, is very neat? AND no pubic hair, completely the norm, these days?

Will our teenage boys, encounter this, as the norm?

I attach a picture, of which I just googled, just to show how neat and tight and firm all the labia on the show looked. Hope its not offensive.

Pissing myself at crunchy pubes 😂
Seriously though, it's odd how so many women see any variation of their own vulva as 'odd' .
And I assume the people saying that the right hand picture, is also odd to them, are used to seeing a vulva that straight on, has a neat line running down the middle and no labia, clitoral hood etc on display.
Truth is it's perfectly normal to be able see clitoral hood, labia on a woman front on.

I think this thread has probably educated a lot of people 😂

(Don't want to see everyone's search history tonight..)

CrankyTheCrane · 13/09/2017 20:36

To the pp who said they'd remove pubes way before they got that long - my pubes would be that length less than 24 hours after shaving! I would consider the vag('s?) in those pics fairly hairless!

chachaboom · 13/09/2017 20:51

I've seen this show and I wish it had been on when I was a teenager as the women on it generally ^are all different shapes and sizes (though admittedly hair free).

The naked women I saw growing up in the media (80s/90s so ye olde page 3/Loaded/eurotrash ) were thin with massive boobs. Took me a good while to realise that is not the norm.

FruitCider · 13/09/2017 20:59

cranky maybe I'm not on the hairy end of normal as I previously thought then! That would be 2+ weeks growth for me...

AppleBosom · 13/09/2017 21:08

of course they don't all look like that are you serious?
its a certain type of person that goes on that show.. come on...

MirandaWest · 13/09/2017 21:17

The women on naked attraction are a variety of shapes and sizes. As are their labia. Very little pubic hair though. And they're not all in the 18-21 age bracket either.

I don't like it when people talk about "neat vaginas" though.

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 21:33

OP's picture is a publicity pic for a plastic surgeon who does labiaplasty. It looks like a before/after picture. (The one on the left is the 'before'. No, it's not the norm)

Fanjo hair is of course shortened (not shaved, certainly not "no pubic hair") in this picture, so that potential customers for the procedure can see what the doctor is trying to publicise.

Imho it doesn't have anything to do with the prevalence of porn or whether "our teenage boys will encounter this as the norm" (what? Confused)

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 21:43

No they will not. I am only just 22 - I am shaven but I'm not 'neat'.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 21:44

Also to the women finding this weird - these women HAVE pubic hair , that is trimmed not shaved

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 21:47

Also it's actually more common to have an 'outie' vagina people ... not as long as the left in many cases but still not 'tucked'.

This is the second thread today bashing the longer of labia ... fucking get over yourselves. People have different fannies... many prefer long labia as it provides more entertainment during cunnilingus but you don't see us saying you have shite fannies.

Also I have never had a hold and have only been having sex for 5 years of my life and I have long labia so which ever Pp said that is an idiot

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 21:49

'Clunky', 'thick' ... fuck off

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 21:52

"you don't see us saying you have shite fannies."

There's a phrase I believe has never been used on MN before Grin

"I have never had a hold"

A hold on your labia? Confused

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 21:53

"it's actually more common to have an 'outie' vagina people"

Why do you think this?

Have you personally seen a statistically significant number of female genitals?

Or is there a medical textbook, for example, that you can point us to?

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 21:53

Also as teens , speaking for the requested age range, we didn't need the great wall of vagina as we had The Sex Education Show and its website doing much the same thing. It helped but prevalent misogynistic mindsets meant that the attitude 'long lips are gross' remained prevalent.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:01

:') my apologies 'hold' was supposed to say 'child'

I'm afraid I got a bit angry there ( sensitive issue) sorry for any offence.
I learned from the Sex Education Show that outies are more prevalent , though my personal experiences with the various fannies of the world is the opposite. I cannot point you to a source- sorry :/ perhaps I was misled

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:03

@CoteDAzur I am ready to receive my Original Post award ... I request that it is shaped like a long set of glorious labia ... or maybe a female Oscar award .. plus labia

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:06

I also want to point out that maybe people don't realise how hurtful their adjectives can be. If your vagina has always been the 'attractive norm' you don't really know how self conscious and ugly having an 'abnormal' (only abnormal through lack of discussion) can be. Barely anyone sees it - but you feel disgusting, especially as a young girl ( by which I mean teen under 18). If you've never had to worry you won't appreciate the hurt it can cause to be called 'clunky' or 'extreme' but maybe you should.
We're (mostly) women here ...

PollyPerky · 13/09/2017 22:08

Beatrice you seem to be confusing a vagina and a vulva. There are no pics of vaginas here. Only vulvas. If your long labia are fine for you, great. But some women find them uncomfortable just as some women find their J cup breasts uncomfortable and have a reduction.

AccrualIntentions · 13/09/2017 22:09

If you've never had to worry you won't appreciate the hurt it can cause to be called 'clunky' or 'extreme' but maybe you should.

Absolutely. And the constant suggestions that it's "not normal". Ugh.

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 22:09

Well, with all due respect to your 'Sex Education Show' and your entire 5-year history of sexual activity Smile, the anatomical function of the outer labia is to cover and protect the sensitive inner labia. This is not to say that there is something wrong with OP's pic on the left, but it certainly is unusual for the inner labia to hang down two inches under the outer labia.

NevermindtheBollocks · 13/09/2017 22:12

No it doesn't polly I'm trying to figure out what the original posters of these descriptions think. Whether good or bad?

AccrualIntentions · 13/09/2017 22:13

CoteDAzur why do you state the "anatomical function"? The "anatomical function" doesn't stop mine and many, many other women's inner labia being longer than the outer. The ones pictured are on the longer side and I can imagine they caused some discomfort but it's really not that strange. Not so odd that it goes against anatomical function and needs to be viewed as some kind of freak show. Confused

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:14

-_- polly ... I'm aware of anatomy, I'm not speaking to a child here who we are trying to instruct on the correct terminology , we can all deduce that I referred to the bulbs through the incorrectly but colloquially used 'vagina'.
I know many women are uncomfortable with longer labia .. I myself cannot wear lace underwear because it causes discomfort, I hate my outie vagina ... but I know that this is because of the misogynistic frame placed onto my own vaginal image.

This is why I want these kind of threads to stop 'fanny bashing' ( TM) because yes, discussion is good, but people have battled long and hard to accept themselves and seeing such negative attitudes towards our vaginas ( sorry vulvas) hurts this personal progress.

Please accept that. Innie vaginas, outie vaginas, lopsided vaginas, dark vaginas, pink vaginas ... sorry vulvas... are all normal ( except those that obviously cause pain) and should be treated as such.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 22:16

Vulva not bulbs fucksake

CoteDAzur · 13/09/2017 22:19

"The "anatomical function" doesn't stop mine and many, many other women's inner labia being longer than the outer."

I didn't say it does. I think it is fairly common knowledge that inner labia of many people do indeed show.

But the photo on the left is unusual. That is why it is on the publicity documents of a plastic surgeon who does labiaplasty. The pic on the right is after surgery.
