For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Are you feeling any better, Tatties?

I hope so.

Tatties · 31/03/2007 22:01

Oh lionheart, I am feeling much better thank you Well my throat is still a bit tender but my head has cleared, and had quite a good rest last night.

Franny I made those breakfast muffins today - they are lovely! And quite sweet considering there's no sugar in them. Ds's verdict was "Mmmmmmm!"

FrannyandZooey · 31/03/2007 22:09

Tatties, yay! I love being the breakfast muffin fairy

Well they were afternoon tea muffins today! How long do they keep for? (Not that I expect they will be around for very long ) Think I am going to try the banana birthday cake too

FrannyandZooey · 31/03/2007 22:32

They don't keep for ages IMO

go a bit fluffy and suspect after a couple of days

congratulations strangetown

well my exercise is still better than my food/fruit/veg

lovel;y er gorgeous day today..I have walked to warwick and back which i think is about 6 miles altogether

was starving when i got there fab looking (and smelling) food at the rose and crown , but unfortunately i only had a couple of quid and it is rather expensive! Greggs was closed so couldn't sample a fabled susage roll for the first time..and reissted subway..not especially hard

so banana and some grapes when i got back and put a casserole in carrots, swede, parsnip, onions, leeks and chicken..so now collapsed for a while

zippitippitoes · 02/04/2007 10:05

I don't think you saw this franny

zippitippitoes · 02/04/2007 17:25

I have had an apple and two vine tomatoes

curry for dinner

and been to the gym and done more than usual there as dp took longer than usual so quite exercised still

Tatties · 03/04/2007 14:45

Awww, all on your own here Zippi

I haven't a clue what to do for dinner and I need to go shopping but can't be fecked... Oh it was good to have our veg delivered...

StrangeTown · 03/04/2007 21:24

All very quiet on here - people gorging on easter eggs already?

What did you manage for dinner Tatties?
I had a baked potato - not great, but I got back from work late. I am starving all the time at the moment.

Got a craving for veg broth and herb dumplings so am going to get DH on the case tomorrow.

Hope everyone's well.

Tatties · 05/04/2007 12:10

No Easter Eggs in this house

Oh StrangeTown, I remember that starving feeling all the time too. I remember just having to have noodles when I got home from work, even though dinner was maybe only half an hour away...

We have loads of fruit in atm, not eating much though as I am busy trying to sort this place out before we have visitors for ds's birthday. I am also frantically trying to ripen bananas for his cake. He picked out some strawberries in the supermarket so I'm going to top the cake with them... I think he's going to love it, he'll think all his birthdays have come at once

FrannyandZooey · 05/04/2007 12:12

Oh I am sorry I have been most slack

tell you what after Easter (and ds's birthday) I will be back in boot camp mode I mean encouraging cheer leader mode

meanwhile eat (veg) drink (juice) and be merry (while jogging about a bit)

lionheart · 05/04/2007 22:14

zippi--I thought you were supposed to be disruptive and there you are, mentioning the gym.

Tatties--how exactly can you ripen bananas? I have visions of you hovering over them and whispering encouragement.

Unlike our esteemed drill sergeant who, it seems, will return to offer encouragement only after chocolate Sunday.

Not at all suspicious.

ST--indulge away!

FrannyandZooey · 05/04/2007 22:15

FrannyandZooey · 05/04/2007 22:56

Which is the day Tatties? We have had this discussion before haven't we?

lionheart · 05/04/2007 22:58

Why is Franny trying to pass herself off as an American, with her cheer-leading and the like?

Tatties · 06/04/2007 21:51
