Hi
I'd be glad of any advice or personal experiences here. I am around 4 stone overweight, so definitely obese. Most of it is on my stomach though, which now looks like I'm 11 months pregnant with triplets. I'm in my 50s so this is not a possibility. It's very painful and I am short of breath when I walk etc.

I've put on a lot of weight in a short period - 10lbs in 2 months.

Six months ago I was bodyboarding in the sea, walking every day and doing an exercise class every week. Now it's a struggle to do anything.

I'm having bloods done on Friday but any ideas / comments? Am I just unlucky to pile it all on in one place?

Sadly no weekend leave after all. But they will take the drain out later this pm. I must be up to at least 7.5 litres by now.

My dsis & 2 dds visited, which was lovely. Chocolate much appreciated though tbh it's too hot to eat it right now.

Codeine and paracetamol is powerful mix! Woman next to me keeps playing same song over &over again - out loud - all about the hea!ing power being in Jesus' loving hands. She's v vocal about her pain so I will bear with!

How horrid, but glad you are in the right place and being sorted out. Having drains is horrid, I recently had one for weeks for my gallbladder. Hope they can take it out without you filling up again!

Wow 7.5litres is crazy! You must feel a lot lighter.

Glad you're in the right place, fingers crossed for Monday

Oh gosh twitter, when I read the thread I was going to suggest you get checked out because it can be signs of a mass in the pelvis. Thank goodness you did! Glad you feel lighter minus the fluid. Hoping and praying the scan is good news of something easily removed and not nasty. Flowers for you.

Sounds like you need someone to bring in some noise cancelling headphones!
Shame about the leave but hopefully they can get some answers for you quickly

Hard to be in hospital over the weekend. Hope they let you move around the building, there's often some sort of garden or whatever you can sit in. I see a lot of patients using black out masks to aid sleep, hope you can manage some rest.

Sending positive vibes your way twitter . The fluid in your lungs would have had a massive affect on your fitness/ breathlessness, so I hope things feel better in that regard.

I'm so glad you went in. It didn't sound right that you had only put weight on around your stomach, and so much in a very short space of time. I hope they look after you very well. No wonder you were short of breath.

Morning all - lurkers welcome Wink

They won't take drain out til after scan. Still some fluid swishing around I think, and left lung still v congested. Again, they need to see scan 1st.

I didn't bear with Jesus very long I'm afraid. After about 20 repetitions - no exaggeration - I asked her to put in headphones. She didn't have any but did at least turn it off. She's now on v v v long complaint to mobile phone operator.

Aw thinking of you twitter. Glad that the fluid is out and you are lighter but sorry there seems to be a mass. Keep us posted and get yourself some earphones to block out the neighbour.
