Hi
I'd be glad of any advice or personal experiences here. I am around 4 stone overweight, so definitely obese. Most of it is on my stomach though, which now looks like I'm 11 months pregnant with triplets. I'm in my 50s so this is not a possibility. It's very painful and I am short of breath when I walk etc.

I've put on a lot of weight in a short period - 10lbs in 2 months.

Six months ago I was bodyboarding in the sea, walking every day and doing an exercise class every week. Now it's a struggle to do anything.

I'm having bloods done on Friday but any ideas / comments? Am I just unlucky to pile it all on in one place?

SparePantsAndLego · 06/07/2017 14:06

I have just read the whole of your thread and am sending you positive thoughts for the op. 8-10 hours is a long time but thankfully you won't be aware of the time passing, so I'm also sending thoughts to you daughters as I imagine your op will feel like a lifetime for them. I know my Dad's op felt like it took at least a month while we waited for news. One foot in front of the other until you're out of hospital and a million good wishes. Flowers

Trampire · 06/07/2017 14:30

Blimey. Just found and read your whole thread. Sending out successful OP vibes by the tonnes your way.

Good Luck for tomorrow💐 (I have posted earlier in your journey about NHS v Private treatment.) My husband recently went through treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma & my sister for aggressive breast cancer. Both had brilliant treatment on the NHS are have now recovered and are in excellent health. We didn't use our private insurance as my husbands treatment exceeded our lowish limit, so the consultant said best not to risk it, as it would run out and cause problems. I've heard there's a cashew shortage, so make sure you stock some up for your recovery x 💐

Therewere5inthebed · 06/07/2017 17:42

I've just found and read the whole thread too, what a truly horrible time you've had.

I just want to wish you the very best of luck for your operation. 💐

Just read your whole thread Twitter. I'm excited for you, scared too, but mostly honestly excited. They will be getting that thing out of you tomorrow! Best of luck. Will be thinking of you. Hope the food is good (and you feel well enough to eat it) and the bed is comfy, and there's a decent selection of box sets.

Another one waving from the cupboard to wish you well, TQ. I came across your thread a few weeks ago and am sorry it's been so awful for you so far. Let's hope from now on you receive faultless care.

lastkisstoo · 06/07/2017 20:17

Just rtft today TQ after it came up in my feed.

What a time you have had, bastard bastard cancer indeed. As a mum of 20-something daughters I can only imagine your worry about how this affects them - especially being their only consistent parent. Your strength shines through all of your posts and I'm sure your girls admire you more than ever.

I will be thinking about you tomorrow and sending positive thoughts and best wishes that they get the whole bloody thing out and then burn the fucker!

Much love Star Flowers

Just caught up with your thread again and wanted to wish you all the best for tomorrow.

I'm glad you managed to get the op scheduled in the end. From what you've said before you'll feel so much happier afterwards, once they've (hopefully) removed most of the tumour.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow, you have the mumsnet massive behind you!
