Hi
I'd be glad of any advice or personal experiences here. I am around 4 stone overweight, so definitely obese. Most of it is on my stomach though, which now looks like I'm 11 months pregnant with triplets. I'm in my 50s so this is not a possibility. It's very painful and I am short of breath when I walk etc.

I've put on a lot of weight in a short period - 10lbs in 2 months.

Six months ago I was bodyboarding in the sea, walking every day and doing an exercise class every week. Now it's a struggle to do anything.

I'm having bloods done on Friday but any ideas / comments? Am I just unlucky to pile it all on in one place?

Hello all
The good wishes worked - thank you! they said the hysterectomy can go ahead, which is great news. I am so pleased. It will be a huge step for me to know that the tumour is out of me. I don't remember much of what was said - very dopey.

I was in surgery for an hour and they went in twice, through the left stomach wall - nowhere near the belly button! I am sore now.

I suspect I was the only person in the entire UK who asked for a hot blanket when I woke up. I was cold so they put a big pipe under my second blanket and blew hot air on me til I warmed up.

I can't shower or bathe for 2 days! Stay well away from me people!

Truly exceptional staff - they were so kind, especially when I had another funny turn at the cannula (yes, again). Oxygen & a drip made me feel better. More oxygen in recovery as apparently my saturation levels weren't quite right.

At home and chilling now - in a very still way. Rocking and rolling mentally only. Grin

Hi Hairy and Pennina

No news. It's so frustrating. I've rung 6 times since last Friday - someone finally got back to me yesterday but couldn't tell me anything. Apparently I'm 'not on their system.' AAAGGGHHHHH I've had a bloody operation FFS, how can I not be on the system!!!
(Op was in one city, my treatment is in another - different trusts....)

It's 3 weeks since I last had chemo and I've only had 3 rounds to date so obviously I'm worrying that the cancer is going to start thriving again. And I was told they want the gap to be as small as possible, 4-6 weeks being optimal.

I've contacted my onc nurse and she is going to escalate this, but it's so frustrating. I can't plan anything and neither can the DCs - I want them around when I come out of hospital....

I'm beginning to think I should have gone private after all..
