Hi
I'd be glad of any advice or personal experiences here. I am around 4 stone overweight, so definitely obese. Most of it is on my stomach though, which now looks like I'm 11 months pregnant with triplets. I'm in my 50s so this is not a possibility. It's very painful and I am short of breath when I walk etc.

I've put on a lot of weight in a short period - 10lbs in 2 months.

Six months ago I was bodyboarding in the sea, walking every day and doing an exercise class every week. Now it's a struggle to do anything.

I'm having bloods done on Friday but any ideas / comments? Am I just unlucky to pile it all on in one place?

Hello everyone. 1st chemo done - yay! Waiting for pharmacy to bring meds over now, then I can go home. Trouble is, that may be hours.... And I can't ask BIL to wait indefinitely.

All good so far. Very early days of course. No idea how I will feel tomorrow etc. But at least I have begun treatment. That's the main thing.

You are a Star mumsnetter.

MissMillament · 19/04/2017 16:01

Hi Twitterqueen. I wanted to delurk to say good luck with the chemo. A close family member was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in the early days of Avastin (2005). He had several inoperable tumours in his liver and a pretty poor prognosis. I am happy to say that over 12 years later he is completely healthy and enjoying life with his family (his children were very young at the time of diagnosis). To us, as his family, it is nothing short of a miracle drug and I wish you the best of luck with your treatment.

gonegrey56 · 19/04/2017 16:19

Well done TQ, so pleased the treatment is underway, and I do so hope the wait is not too long.

TwitterQueen1 · 19/04/2017 17:36

Thanks all! I am rather out of it, I must say..... drunk but without the alcohol if that makes sense (though I have just had the most deliciously cold bottle of Stella.

I am repeating myself, going round in circles mentally and basically, haven't got a clue! The DDs have washed my bed-sheets, the lovely cleaner came today, DD2 is cooking lasagne.

And I've had lots and lots of lovely supportive messages, texts and of course, posts here! So I''m feeling pretty good tbh. Long may it last.

I love you all (hic) Wine ... maybe I should have some real wine?
