....are you feeling better yet? I'm not I saw the doctor on monday who said my chest was clear, it was just viral..blah, blah, blah but I'm still coughing loads and my ears are blocked all the time. Moan, moan whinge. The pharmacist told me to only take day nurse for a week (marvellous stuff) so i've had to stop that now too. How do I get rid of this damn thing?

Yikes, michy!

I had to take co-codamol the past few nights w/a painful chest and ears.

Hope you feel better soon!

I've been signed off the rest of the week.

michylou · 20/02/2007 14:36

You to expat- keep hounding the doctor though if you dont feel better!!

katzg · 20/02/2007 14:38

me i've got it and its horrid.

My chest hurts my tummy hurts and my head hurts all from coughing!

Hulababy · 21/02/2007 22:40

Have to say that this evening I am starting to feel much better. The rest the GP has recommednded and given me permission to take (he really was lovely ) has been vital!

expatinscotland · 21/02/2007 22:41

I'm using the time off to recover, too, Hula.

This has really weakened me.

I didn't realise how badly till I tried to get up this morning at my normal time.

dassie · 21/02/2007 22:46

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and this infection has been hell. Ended up on antibiotics.

Have had no sleep and finding it hard to eat so of course feel guilty about the baby having a rough time ( I think the coughing is really starting to get to him!).

And now dh is away on business for a week so I have no one to look after me.

And I'm so glad I found somewhere to whinge about this!

hope you all start feeling better soon

SteakandMushroomPie · 21/02/2007 22:50

OMG! What is this bug?? Literally everyone i'm talking to has it, my lot included! My sis also has now come down with pleurisy and has been signed off work. Has played havoc with her asthma too.

Hope everyone feels better by the weekend!

Hulababy · 22/02/2007 08:14

You do right expat; know how you feel. I feel a bit...well...pathetic really. Even walking up the stairs has me tired, and that is even after I have started to feel better! Definitely feeling better for the rest though.

Dophus · 22/02/2007 08:22

I also have it.

It started lat week with full blown flu (shaking bed for two day with a temp exceeding 40 C).

22w pregnant so can't bloody take anything. Ngiht's are horrid I lie there knowing the moment I move I will start hacking, close you r eyes now, bit gobs of blood. I've had flecks before but never this quantity.

My pelvic floow is shot through so leaking all the time. I'm like a little old lady smelling of wee.

The pooor baby must have its fingers in its ears!

Cloudhopper · 22/02/2007 17:49

What a nightmare this is. It's the first week in years that dh has gone away and left me looking after the girls on my own. Now we have all got it at once, and I am somehow having to look after them as much as I can from the sofa, drifting in and out of being lucid.

Distress call to my mum failed because she has to work. MIL is coming later on tonight, but the house is a mess - hope she doesn't mind.

Sympathy for all you others who have got it. It is a nasty one, that's for sure. THe last time I felt this ill was proper flu at university, and that was about 11 years ago.

{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} to everyone else who has got it or is looking after those who have.

danceswithnewboots · 22/02/2007 17:51

I'm finally on the mend...not flaunting it, just want to give you all hope (especially since I started this thread!). Still a bit catarrhy but definitely better. Hope everyone is better soon.

Me too Breastfeeding to boot, so limited as to what I can take.

vitomum · 23/02/2007 10:42

after two weeks of coughing my guts up i went to the GP yesterday. Only really went cos am pg and felt i should be a bit more vigilant under the circumstances. Was fully expecting to be told it was viral so felt strangely vindicated / pleased to be told i have a chest infection and need ABs. Sympathy to all those still suffering, this is going on for ages isn't it.
