I had a fit last night

Just need some hand-holding and impressions.

My DP was woken up last night by me "having a fit" - me eyes were open and vacant, I was completely unresponsive and shaking violently.

I hope this isn't epilepsy etc. Thankfully I already have a GP appointment booked for this afternoon.

Really, really, scared...

As a nurse I'm absolutely appalled by the treatment you have received so far. I'm that appalled I'm lost for words!

myoriginal3 · 07/12/2016 14:41

Gosh you really need someone to advocate on your behalf! How are they doing now with pain management and diagnosis?

Ihadafit · 07/12/2016 14:50

Waiting for doc and morphine...

myoriginal3 · 07/12/2016 14:54

Do not try to hide how much pain you're in. In fact ramp up the moans of agony!
I'm sure your bp is probably through the roof though with that level of pain.
I can't believe how long they have neglected you. Honestly it's criminal!

gingeroots · 07/12/2016 16:19

No! Pancreatis and gall bladder pain are pure agony I believe .

Hope you or someone tells your GP "how its gone " .

Ihadafit · 07/12/2016 17:01

I could fucking cry.

I asked for more IV Morphine as pain is fucking nuts again, to be given two paracetamol and a codeine tablet.....

Honestly, this pain is crazy and this nurse gives no shits.

OP posts:
Wheresthattomoibabber · 07/12/2016 17:10

I'm allergic to codeine - it gives me pancreatitis - have you been taking codeine all the time?

Blossomdeary · 07/12/2016 17:13

The big issue here is driving and the safety of others as well as the OP's well-being. The GP should not have been so casual about it.

Maudlinmaud · 07/12/2016 17:41

Hi I had. Whats happening? Any news on what the abdo pain is?
I know nothing about morphine. Sorry.

FruitCider · 07/12/2016 17:46

Press your buzzer again and say "thanks for the tablets, however my pain warrants something stronger, like the IV morphine I have been prescribed. Can I have some of that please? I'm in agony".

gingeroots · 07/12/2016 20:00

I think if the doctor has authorised x amount of morphine that the nurses can't give additional .It would have to agreed by a doctor .

Hoping the paracetamol and codeine are helping . And OP take precautions against constipation .Those painkillers ( paracetamol is ok ) can totally bung you up .So drink as much fluid as you can ,dried fruit ,fresh fruit etc .

Really hoping you're feeling better and that they can get the pain under control .

Badders123 · 07/12/2016 20:49

I would rather have another baby than have gallstone pain again Sad
Yes some nurses can be very blasé about pain - I had a lumbar puncture some years ago and was unlucky enough to get an LP headache (1 in 100 cases)
Jesus suffering Christ...the pain!! SadSadSad
As I was wheeled into a and e - my mum called an ambulance when she found me crawling round trying to look after my 17 month old ds as I couldn't stand up - a nurse gave a cursory glance and sighed
"It's just an LP headache"
I really hope that bitch gets one one day Angry
The pain nearly drove me demented

gingeroots · 07/12/2016 22:10

Oh Badders that's the type of thing it's veryhard to get over .Really makes one nervous of the whole system .
You poor thing !

Ihad how are things ?

Maudlinmaud · 07/12/2016 22:13

Yep low pressure headaches after lp are worse than the actual lp. Been there Badders.

Ihadafit · 07/12/2016 23:00

Still no FUCKING morphine. Surgery a definite.

OP posts:
FannyFifer · 08/12/2016 00:06

What surgery? Gall bladder? Hope your ok. X

FlouncedBack · 08/12/2016 00:27

You poor thing, hope all goes well for you. Flowers

MissSmiley · 08/12/2016 00:42

I apologise i've read the whole thread but missed the bit about your ct results? Was it ok? Did they ring you?
I've had pancreatitis and gall bladder attacks (before removal) and the pain was horrific. Didn't know at the time I had psincter of oddi dysfunction! What a fabulous name the condition has. Opiates trigger the pain. Had op but still can't tolerate opiates.
I do hope you get some answers and some pain relief.

myoriginal3 · 08/12/2016 01:06

You poor thing.
Have they relieved the pain?

Ihadafit · 08/12/2016 05:52

They have done fuck all, have been really really poor. Gutted, cantankerous, fucking annoyed and in excruciating pain.

Ihadafit....at the simply bizarre policies shown.

OP posts:
Badders123 · 08/12/2016 06:59

I had a leak of cerebrospinal fluid apparently
Confused
Oh op Sad
Once the surgery is over I hope you will be compiling a dossier on this omni shambles Angry

Ihadafit · 08/12/2016 07:03

Oh there will be a formal full complaint going in.

I may even name the hospital

OP posts:
Sleepingonthebus · 08/12/2016 07:03

Morphine was the only thing that touched my pancreatitis pain. I hope you get some soon.

Badders123 · 08/12/2016 07:09

I find large companies (and lets face it the NHS is benig slowly privatised!) respond VERY quickly to Twitter comments on their page!
