I had a fit last night

Just need some hand-holding and impressions.

My DP was woken up last night by me "having a fit" - me eyes were open and vacant, I was completely unresponsive and shaking violently.

I hope this isn't epilepsy etc. Thankfully I already have a GP appointment booked for this afternoon.

Really, really, scared...

...and the practise head of the GP surgery too!
If they don't follow nice guidelines they are negligent.

myoriginal3 · 08/12/2016 07:11

Morning op.

I'm scared to ask whether they have done anything for you yet as I suspect I know the answer!

Ihadafit · 08/12/2016 07:13

Two people who came in in the early hours are already on morphine, yet I'm being forced to beg. Similar conditions too.

When is surgery?

Ihadafit · 08/12/2016 07:21

No docs been round yet.

Did you get much sleep? I'm guessing you're probably fasting so not even a cuppa to look forward to!
Hopefully the surgeon will get to the bottom of all this.
Sorry if I've missed the post but is it confirmed gallstones?

myoriginal3 · 08/12/2016 07:39

Surgical team are usually the earliest doing their rounds in my experience, though given your experience so far that probably won't happen either lol.

Badders123 · 08/12/2016 07:45

Come on op
Name and shame
If the DM bet hold of it your treatment will suddenly get better 😡😡😡

P1nkP0ppy · 08/12/2016 07:47

I am still reading this in disbelief at the lack of medical/surgical intervention. It absolutely beggers belief that firstly you weren't urgently investigated for the fits and secondly the abdo pain!
I'm just fervently hope something gets bloody done.
Name and shame the hospital.

Maudlinmaud · 08/12/2016 07:55

You are being forced to beg? For morphine?

Why have they not given you it to you? This makes no sense.

myoriginal3 · 08/12/2016 07:59

I think if pancreatitis is still being considered they try to administer as little as possible as it all affects the pancreas even more. Though I could be wrong!

Ihadafit · 08/12/2016 08:43

Got zero sleep, excruciating pain all night.

Not confirmed anything yet, hope I'll find out shortly.

Nice try Badders, soon!

Beggars belief I cannot get IV Morphine. There are just excuses. Old, tired, reused excuses...

Ffs. This is truly awful. When the surgeon comes around tell them all. They may not be reputed for having the best bedside manner but my God can they administer lovely drugs....
I'd trust a surgeon above any other doc.

Ihadafit · 08/12/2016 08:54

I was just told that oral morphine has equivalent bioavailability and that they "don't use much IV morphine anymore".

OP posts:
Sipperskipper · 08/12/2016 09:28

No need to use IV morphine if you can swallow or not vomiting / feeling sick. If in acute pain (as opposed to chronic, cancer type pain) the maximum this will usually be prescribed is 4 or 6 hourly, for safety reasons. I hope you get some answers soon.

ChestyNutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 08/12/2016 09:33

Are you having oral morphine OP?

You said surgerys a definite....for what condition?

myoriginal3 · 08/12/2016 09:43

Lol at doc using 'bioavailability'. I'd be Hmm
Do I look like I have the capacity to google right now? Just give me the fucking drugs you motherfucker.

I'm a lovely patient

Ihadafit · 08/12/2016 09:44

Had one dose of oral yesterday that accomplished nothing.

Was told surgery a requirement for either Gallstones or Pancreatitis

OP posts:
Ihadafit · 08/12/2016 11:58

Told I need surgery yesterday, I just got discharged in excruciating pain. Complaint on the way.

OP posts:
myoriginal3 · 08/12/2016 12:15

Are you actually serious?

myoriginal3 · 08/12/2016 12:16

Btw you wouldn't need surgery for pancreatitis.

Maudlinmaud · 08/12/2016 12:16
Hmm
crazyoldc4tlady · 08/12/2016 12:23

can you go to a different hospital?

myoriginal3 · 08/12/2016 12:25

Aye. A psychiatric hospital.

Ihadafit · 08/12/2016 12:31

Deadly serious.
