Hello (hopefully) to Voodoo, Worley and Jennster!!

OP posts:
Jennster · 21/01/2007 22:17

21 days and one glass of wine. I can't believe I have drunk so little. I'm sure I had a glass a week last pregnancy. I also can't believe how little I've missed it. I was not quite an alchy but I did like a couple of glasses of red wine every night. In fact the thought of a hangover puts me right off....[polishes halo]

VoodooBiltong · 21/01/2007 22:25

yo dudes...

still hungover it was a beastie of a weekend we all had fun dressed up as cowgirls, the restaurant was a bit of a let down, they wanted the table back at 9pm on the dot so we had to eat really fast; also drink really fast...but it worked as we were all leathered.

We then danced le night away in Flares (cheesey but good for a hen-night)
some dodgy bloke in a cream suit ensconced in a sofa grabbed my arm and said in a heavy foreign accent 'happy birthday to you' I just smiled nervously...and then we went outside to get our taxi!
Best of all was the creativity of my blagging, only spent £12 in the end, genius.

It is the countdown to the wedding now, how nervous are we all getting!

also...MD your profile is great, fab pics
Worley my pc wont let me look at yours,
and mine still wont let me put my pics on.

ma and pa are with us for 2 weeks now so I wont be on the pc much, but I will grab it whenever I can.

Love to you all, have a fab week/fortnight
and hope the bub with the snot gets well soon

Nice to know you survived the slightly dodgy lothario. Did he look like this ????

Hate it when restaurants demand table back for a set time, especially if you're having a party.

Well, got phone call this morning and the company running the workshop has gone belly-up!!
Was fun while it lasted

OP posts:
Macdog · 22/01/2007 10:26

MMMMMMMMMM.........nice

VoodooBiltong · 22/01/2007 21:06

more like him...

VoodooBiltong · 22/01/2007 21:09

gawd dh is keeping financial records of ALL spendings...I just had a tough time explaining some eBay purchases...

and we have been playing cards and dominoes with my mum&dad every night...sadly I am finding it really fun!

I just bought them a leaving present on eBay, the pack of cards that has Saddam Hussain as the ace of spades, and all of his crew as the pack. Very funny.

I will be devastated when they go to Scotland next Tuesday, I wont see them till Easter! [misses her mummy emoticon]

VoodooBiltong · 22/01/2007 21:10

Macdog.....secretly I can tell you really like Raoul.

VoodooBiltong · 22/01/2007 21:11

cant believe that company exists no more. hat is awful, I bet you were making headway and met some ok-ish people.

Never mind.

My ma and pa will be living near you soon...you can pop over for a game of dominoes.

worleygig · 22/01/2007 21:43

dp and i have fads on playing cards, normally blackjack (or aka 21) dp always has to remind me how to play. we havent played scince i was pregnant and we sat out on the patio in the may/june eves.

im looking for a job i can do at home, £92 a week on childcare is ridiculus, after i've paid th nursery and ds1 school breakfast club i was better off on stat mat pay not good, we are on a mortgage break/holiday still so dont know how we are going to manage when its finished...

Macdog · 23/01/2007 09:34

Things not going well for the Macdog.
Had to get tooth out yesterday so I'm a bit sore
This is coinciding with dd going through a really clingy phase.

Was in bed by 10pm last night. Luckily dd slept through as well

dh and I always take a pack of cards wherever we go. I even packed them in my labour bag, much to the amusement of the midwife!(dd arrived after about 1 hour in Hospital, after a 6 hour total labour)

Hope to be feeling better later. Going out to enjoy the glorious weather. Really sunny and crisp, my favourite kind of day

Macdog · 23/01/2007 15:33

OK guys, sorry about this, but I'm gonna moan!
To add to the screaming infant, my sore mouth, sore arm, aggravated excema and PND I have now got a poorly dog .
Have just spent ages scraping, washing/disinfecting and putting sawdust down in his run. He is lively and bright enough. I'm hoping I can get him through without a trip to the money-sucking horror that is THE VET !!!
Howevwer on plus side dd went to sleep long enough for me to get a pot of venison stew on !!!
Am now going to try and have a snack before she wakes up and starts again !!!

worleygig · 23/01/2007 17:43

oh big gentle hug to macdog. they keep threatening me with taking mty tooth out, i need root canal but the root is curved and thy cant do it apparently. or i can pay to go private which i really cant afford at the moment.
ds2 bit better today, fingers crossed hes better by friday as i have to go to work then.

i had a 3.55 min labour with ds1 and 3.05 hr labour with ds2!!! was induced though so its meant to be quicker so im told. and more painfull as they force the contractions on. and when my epidural didnt work with ds2 it bloody was agony.

why do women do it again and again and again???

sorry jenn...

Jennster · 23/01/2007 18:14

It's ok. Dd was 8h 19 minute labour at home, a day early. Only pain relief was Tens, gas and air and a hot bath. Lovely. Have a photo of me breastfeeding dd with my first glass of wine that night at our neighbour's house. Hoping it won't be too bad this time.

Hope your tooth feels better macdog. Venison stew sounds fab. Am roasting a chicken to have with salad tonight. I still have a pounding head from the migraine yesterday.

VoodooBiltong · 23/01/2007 21:22

all these fast labours.
dd took 14hrs, induced, gas and air and pethidene, horrid tied to hosp bed, then rushed down for D&C with a spinal block as placenta wouldnt come out...16hours in all.
Then 10 days later another D&C under general anaesthetic as more placenta decides to start causing problems! And epidural and 3rd degree tear! two lots of stitching and a nasty case of thrush because of the heatwave and the 4 courses of antibiotics!

I have never been the same, even 7 months on...

anyway, happier things...me and dad just beat dh and mum 4-0 at whist. Result.

Jennster · 23/01/2007 21:29

Ohh Voodoo how horrid! Got no tears either just a little graze. Was going to go for physiologigcal 3rd stage but heard so many nightmare stories about them, that I'm glad I chickened out and went for managed.

VoodooBiltong · 23/01/2007 21:33

what? physio-what? managed???

VoodooBiltong · 23/01/2007 21:34

but I never needed physio to help me hold poo and wee in, my friend had a 3rd degree tear and is still in physio for poo control 4mths on...thsts why she is skinny, she darent eat and she is bf for her.

Jennster · 23/01/2007 21:44

Physiologically managed 3rd stage is where you push the placenta out naturally without drugs and managed is when you have syntocinon and they pull the placenta out. Problem with doing it yourself, your womb might not contract back and you then loose loads of blood and mostly need a blood transfusion. (which is quite difficult when you are at home)

Jennster · 23/01/2007 21:47

Needed physio for back problem and wish I had gone to the post natal exercise physio classes to stop me from pissing myself.

VoodooBiltong · 23/01/2007 21:58

I think they cocked up my syntocin tho, my womb contracted too fast before I got it all out, when they pulled it out it was 'membraneous' and all frondy [bleurgh emoticon]

VoodooBiltong · 23/01/2007 21:59

I never had any issues with leaking etc. rather the opposite, weve only just managed to have full, normal, but still v v v gentle sex, 7mths on

Jennster · 23/01/2007 22:11

Yes that's a risk with the syntocinon. That's why I was keen to complete my earth motherness until I thought f%%k it I'm tired and went for it. If it's given too late though think it can do that.

VoodooBiltong · 23/01/2007 22:15

oooh just completed an easy sudoku in 7mins 30 secs.

VoodooBiltong · 23/01/2007 22:16

you were brave giving birth at home, good job I didnt, as soon as dd went 11 days overdue I was screwed in hospital, no choices, no options and very very very shitty food.

Macdog · 23/01/2007 22:49

Whist, Voodoo.
You know how to live !!

am slightly pished (again)

Mind you, reading about you folks labours, am quite glad .

Voodz, anyone you want sorting out with a reasoned and articulate argument??? Shame to waste the vino!!
