hello

i wrenched something in my back yesterday lkifting ds2, i felt something rip. i went out yesterday evening having taken lots of painkillers and although it was sore it wasn't unbearable.

i had a really bad night unable to get comfortable... now it ias pure agony, i can't walk to the loo without help, i can't take a full breath, andf as well as the back injury6 i also have a sort of soft (waterfilled?) swelling on my front corresponding to the pain on my back, it is so painful, i am not exaggerating.

i called nhs direct and they told me to take ibuprofen which I was already doing and it does bugger all. Any nurses around? I'd be grateful; for any advice.

hello

I didn't get to sleep until after 5, it all just statred spasming and twitching, it was grim

I am not lifting the boys or doing anything ill-advised, dh has been off work since it happened, all I am doing is MNing and watching telly. I have co-codamol, ibuprofen, Voltarol gel - and grapes, apparently ds1 insisted I must have grapes They brought me flowers yesterday too, they are all being really sweet. It's just an arsehole of an injury, it keeps getting worse all by itself

If it's not improving, despite you doing all the right things, please go see your GP. Get a scrip for voltrol pills at least. Maybe your surgery has a physio attached, who may be able to use ultrasound to treat the problem? (Dunno, though, dunno if it helps with tears.)

it's not a whinge thread, it's an empathy, sympathy and wincing-at-the-very-thought-of-it thread...

it sounds AFWUL.

Thank you essbee, that is very kind of you, especially as you have so much on your plate atm! If it's not considerably betetr in the morning dh is going to phone our gp and Get Nasty in the hope that he will come and see me - I might give you a shout if it's worse and he won't come, though, thanks for that. Am hoping things will improve overnight though, I have been a model patient today and done bugger all
