I think its normal, youve been killing the cells in your mouth/tongue for ages and it does all feel a bit odd.
They are now growing back...alternatively your about to come down with the lurgy

notasheep · 18/09/2006 20:41

ds is full of snot and nose running down the road, hope its not the lurg.

interesting article in Sunday paper on house fires caused by cigarettes and how many people die another reason to stop

so you are being the quiet shy one and not on for my trip to London then

charliecat · 18/09/2006 20:49

Yes...>> Dont know why either
Theres a house behind mine that took AGESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS to repair and a woman of 60 something set herself on fire with a fag and died sitting in the seat...or maybe she died and dropped the fag...I dont know actually, but

southeastastra · 18/09/2006 21:14

oh i really wish i could join you again with the willpower i had last monday, it just seems to have deserted me again

charliecat · 18/09/2006 21:15

Prepare yourself for a day in the week?
Its a life choice, you have to put some serious welly into it.
Its HUGELY worth it though.

southeastastra · 18/09/2006 21:21
Smile
charliecat · 18/09/2006 21:23

Is that a Yes, working on it smile?
read whyquit till it drips out of your eyeballs.

notasheep · 18/09/2006 21:23

southeast-the thing that has REALLY helped me on this quest to stop is this thread.
Soooooooooo much support, which i cant get from dp as he is still smoking.
I wish you well

southeastastra · 18/09/2006 21:24

it is, i found last monday i had tons of time alone to really think about it. as i'm back to the usual routine i've lapsed.

charliecat · 18/09/2006 21:25

Im jumping in the bath now nite..maybe write dwon all the reasons to stop and all the reasons to continue? nite

southeastastra · 18/09/2006 21:29

i know i do feel alone, my dp isn't very good at supporting me, i think he thinks i just won't do it

notasheep · 18/09/2006 21:36

Like Charlie said read why quit day in day out and Allen Carr and get on here and say how it is.

I felt under so much pressure with dp-that i couldnt do it blah blah blah, but i am not doing this quit for dp i am doing it for myself so that has made the whole thing easier.

You may surprise your self when you do quit.
For me my quits have always had to be on a Monday or the first day of the month BUT this time was different on Friday 8th at 11am(i had already smoked that day) my brain had suddenly clicked and MASSES of support here

imaginaryfriend · 18/09/2006 21:36

This thread has really kept me going too. That's why we have to keep it alive because it's such a vital resource for smokers to have fellow quitters. I've always felt that in a bad moment I can post on here!

How are you this morning southeast?

southeastastra · 19/09/2006 08:16

hello, well my horoscope says stop thinking about doing things and just do them

charliecat · 19/09/2006 10:05

Great advice
Its the best possible thing you can do for yourself and your children.
I had quit so many times it really was truely embarrasing. But one of those quits was it....and now...nearly 2 years later, I dont smoke. I dont think of smoking. It doesnt disturb my thought processes at all and It either smells lovely, but not for me, or it clogs my lungs and I need to get out the way of it.

imaginaryfriend · 19/09/2006 10:41

wow, cc, nearly 2 years!!

Grin
charliecat · 19/09/2006 10:52

nov the 28th...nearly.

imaginaryfriend · 19/09/2006 14:11

That's just incredible. And impressive. My best quit was for almost 2 years so you've nearly beaten me! Although when I very first smoked at around 18 or so I was a very half-hearted smoker, really just nabbed a few off my then boyfriend and I stopped completely when I was about 20 until I was 24 which is the age that I began smoking seriously and got totally addicted. Always a 20-a-day girl, until my quit aged 30 for 2 years. Then the on / off struggle I've had up until now.

OP posts:
notasheep · 19/09/2006 14:14

what are you doing on here at this time of day?

imaginaryfriend · 19/09/2006 14:18

Weird, isn't it? Dd's having a very late lunch and watching Scooby Doo so I thought I'd nip in and say hello!

How's your throat, sheeplessness? i had a sore aching one about a week - 10 days after quitting. It lasted about 2 days.
