I know thsi may be a bit heavy for a Sunday night, but i might sleep better if I start this. Ive had a strange weekend as had a VERY spiritual experience on Friday and then had a SEVERE panic attack lastnight post arguing with DH about my spiritual encounter.

My hypnotherapist has asked me to do some work on how I am moving forward , but the angle is Thatit has to be from a sensory point of view ,like a self progress report. I have the title "As I see, hear & feel myself moving forward". Could be things I say or feel. I just dont know were to start , I just keep popping on here as I am fed up with looking at a blank page on my computor. I normally know how to do this stuff , but I just seem to be blocked as its really difficult.

Hi melsy. What was the spiritual experience? Is it possible for you to write something about that? I must confess I find it v. hard to think how one would write about oneself from a sensory point of view.

melsy · 21/03/2004 20:55

I saw a spiritual reader who is a clairvoyant & I was able to speak to late grandparents. It was very moving as one of them was very very special to me. I am very like him. She also said some stuff about me that was totally accurate and it was wonderful to have it aknowledged.

Try putting a physical component into the thinking. I had a boss who called getting out of a mental block 'making a 180degree turn'. He would stop and do something completely different, or get up and walk over to me to discuss something, rather than talking to me from his chair. If I understand your situation correctly, what I might do would be to go and walk through a few of the things I might have done today/this week, and see how I handle them differently to previously, or if I feel differently about them.

melsy · 21/03/2004 21:01

The problem with "feel" & my confusion is that I dont know if it is how I "feel" emotionally or how I "feel" things physically , as in this feels rough, smooth, hard ???? or if it means physically in the body , tense , warm ???

!!!!

Hey melsy, maybe you should think of yourself like a baby with this one. They feel everything and express it directly. I remember someone asking me what it felt like to have a baby in my body and I couldn't describe it in words, but then I found that by pushing my tongue into my cheek and moving it around it sort of felt the same so I got them to do that. Is that the same kind of thing? The weekend experience sounds amazing by the way. didn't your dh believe you? I've never had such an experience but after my father died I used to dream about him so vividly that I was sure it was him communicating to me from somewhere. I'm not sure now that it was.

melsy · 21/03/2004 21:23

Im sure he was Evita. The woman said that my Papa (as I called him), finds it easy to come to me , as I am very spiritualy aware & that he knows that I Know its him instinctively. I even had a conversation with him in a dream on the telephone which was so real and felt so good to see him. She told me to realise that even the small moments like this are what I think they are , I am being communicated with!!Hairs on my back standing up now. May be I should write about it, as I have longed for this to happen and be ackowledeged.

OP posts:
Evita · 21/03/2004 21:34

You should write about it! Why not?

melsy · 21/03/2004 21:39

I just cant seem to put it into ; see, hear, feel context. My brain is shutting down think in protest of late evening brain bashing!!!!!

you could try and just jot down words that come into your head about how you are feeling or just any words that come into your head

Write them down one above the other. Then try and see which words link the most to each other - connect them with a line to each other. Called a word map. Sometimes for me the words end up also looking like a picture!!

Can often bring about some quite good revelations.

papillon · 22/03/2004 08:46

Melsy - maybe I can help more online if you want till dd wakes up - even abit then ;o

can i ask you some questions?
what was your sickness in the weekend?

also - the arguement you had with dh - how did that make you feel - if you do not want to tell put it on the paper in a separate section to maybe join up later with other words/ideas - if you want to try the word map idea.

How did the panic attack feel?
strange, horrible, black, red, closed, open, breathless... empty... etc...

melsy · 22/03/2004 08:57

Papillon are you on msn ??? I feel kinda cheeky / odd just writitng to you for help when I dont no you. That may have not come out how i want it to come accross. Very Very kind of you. How do you feel about me tlaking with u, I suppose you wouldnt have offered though would u ?????

It has to be positive stuff I think, I could write loads on negative though!!!!

The word map is a very good idea , I think I will try it but I will give myself the rule of only positive. Great , brilliant. Will start now.

OP posts:
melsy · 22/03/2004 09:16

Papillon has dd woken up??

OP posts:
papillon · 22/03/2004 09:16

Do not worry that we do not know each other.

sometimes the stranger is a new friend and the best one for advice or words of encouragement!!

Sometimes facing the negative can bring the polar opposite - the positive to light - do not ignore it completely as the negative is what you have to move forward from IYKWIM

And do not think of it as a progress report... even if you present the mind map or whatever you come up with to your hypnotherapist then it shows you are getting somewhere... its not school after all
and spiritual progress is never finalised in 4 hours!!!

papillon · 22/03/2004 09:17

she is awake ... on my knee as a matter afact..

I am not on msn

I can keep checking in though if you would like me to help....

melsy · 22/03/2004 09:19

You are right , I just think the the therapist is trying to help me think more positivly . WE are doing some really tough work later at my session today. Which will be bringign up some really difficult and negative history .I think she may have set this to help me focus on that and not todays session which I am a bit anxious about.

Are you on MSN messneger,we could then talk online there????

OP posts:
melsy · 22/03/2004 09:24

Sorry posts crossed. It would be good to talk.

I do the same with my dd , and she likes to bang the keys !!! LOL. How old is your dd??

My sickness was due to my AF , I get really ill with it now. Very exhausted and nasty headaches.

I have written about my argument for my therapist, she asks me to do a summation of my week for her at the start of each session. I will get some bits from it.

I also worte about the panic attack.

I will put some on here.

Thank you
