imaginaryfriend · 29/08/2006 23:48

And where's the boss cat? Do you think she's succumbed to a roll-up?

Panman · 30/08/2006 00:05

yes IF. Today is the first day, well 23h 34mins, and all is fine.
Have prepared strategies for dealing with my achillies heel in all of this....feeling fine.

have seen tiddles elsewhere, stroking round other legs, as is her want.

imaginaryfriend · 30/08/2006 18:38

Here, puss!!!

I barely thought about smoking at all today apart from my disasterous trip to the hairdressers. Dd and I both got a trim. Mine was fine but I asked the hairdresser to just literally straighten up the ends of dd's gorgeous mid-back length hair and she took about 3 inches off so she's now got shoulder length hair. I was so furious but didn't want to show it in front of dd who was already looking close to tears. Apparently the hairdressser didn't realise she was getting shorter and shorter because dd 'wasn't sitting still enough'. Dd was totally still every time I looked over - she's generally terrified of being told off especially by strangers so I couldn't quite believe that. Anyhow, it made me want a fag so badly I was almost itching all over! But I didn't.

Phew.

How many were you smoking a day, panperson, just before you quit this time?

Hi all1

I was back up to easily 20, often more, again....made policy decision with regard 'the heel' - not to respond. Delete email without reading it. Whatever. Just no drive back to smoke. 2 Days 12 hours and...lets see on the counter.....54 secs, no 55 secs..no 56 secs...aw give up.

notasheep · 31/08/2006 13:37

Thanks Charlie-think i could be on here an awful lot

charliecat · 31/08/2006 16:46

Pan man...what is it with all the pans...lol
Rickman what a bloody shame your driving id get the beer flowing at 8 oclock tommorow morning if you werent
Wheres IF got to now?
Notasheep you been back at the old whyquit?

imaginaryfriend · 31/08/2006 18:20

Ummm cc, I'm, like here the question is where were you

notasheep go for it. I'm only just newly quit so I can remember everything you're likely to feel / think. And it sounds like you're not smoking that many a day which will also help ...

pandog, well done, jeez you went from zero to 20-a-day as rapidly as you quit from 20 to zero!!

OP posts:
charliecat · 31/08/2006 20:06

I was HERE I just wasnt HERE...im going to relish having Rickman round tommorow without her going to the boot of her car to get in her dirty old mans mac and her rubber gloves so her dds and dses dont smell the reek off of her...yes really
So a fine september for all of us then...ive just drove home from mcdonalds like a drunk nigel mansell....

notasheep · 31/08/2006 23:16

Big day tomorrow-REALLY looking forward to it,starting to get very paranoid about still smoking

charliecat · 01/09/2006 07:58

Hope your doijg well this morning, do anything but smoke and if anythings too hard just leave it till later.
Remeber that no matter how irritated you are, your are onyl going to have to do it AGAIN if you have a fag.
My thoughts are with you

ive started to knit a scarf - to get ove r the thought that i should be doing something - whioch makes me go to fridge and eat - an believe me - i dont need to eat i am a huge fat blob. my scarf is coming on though! i can't knit so am quite proud. casting off is going to be a problem!! worlds longst scarf.

nearly two weks - three weeks is my stumbling block last 2 times. today is my supervision. feeling a bit stressed. just beuase i havent prepared - my own fault. will buy some mints on the way there.
on he whole though is got tonnes better.

charliecat · 01/09/2006 10:18

Keep at it custy...
Rickman

imaginaryfriend · 01/09/2006 15:03

notasheep! How's it going? Did you take the plunge? That first leap is one of the hardest parts isn't it? Any chance you can get your dp to quit too so you don't have any smokes to nick?

cc, hello. Have fun with rickman tonight. You know, rickman, my best mate who's currently thinking of quitting but is nowhere with it so far, is the most secret smoker I've ever met. She has a special glove and has even hidden her smoking from her husband!!

Custy, 3 weeks is a tricky one for me. That'll be next week I think. I'm actually quite thrilled that I can't remember exactly it is since I quit. I guess it's 2.5 weeks, 3 weeks on Monday. It's definitely getting better every day. It's always the points of stress that get to me. Like today when I looked in my bank account and discovered zero funds. I went crazy for a fag!!

OP posts:
charliecat · 01/09/2006 20:24

Is noone saving the pennys they would other wise be spending on fags?
Custy you just keep knitting, dont worry about casting offf

imaginaryfriend · 01/09/2006 20:51

Saving cc? What's that?

Custy, when you've finished, I could do with a new hat ...

paneagle, what's happened to you???

And notasheep, did you go for it? I kind of suspect not as you've been so quiet ... ?

OP posts:
charliecat · 01/09/2006 20:53

Ive no idea what saving is IF..no idea at all. But ive heard others do it well

imaginaryfriend · 01/09/2006 20:56

Is it when you put your Tesco's carrier bag in the cupboard to use again rather than in the bin?

OP posts:
charliecat · 01/09/2006 20:57

Yeah, but thats also known as recycling

imaginaryfriend · 01/09/2006 21:05

Ok, is it when you see a fly floating on your glass of water and get it out with a tissue rather than let it drown?

Oh, and I thought you were playing with rubber glove lady tonight?
