Look, there are women who play ping-pong, I'm clearly just an amateur in these stakes.

NotQuiteCockney · 05/07/2006 22:02

see:

Using only her Vagina, One of the ladies can:
Smoke cigarettes
Pop open a bottle of beer
Write a letter (with an impressive cowboy illustration as well!!)
Blow out candles on a birthday cake
And she can pop balloons using only a blowgun and her vagina!

NotQuiteCockney · 05/07/2006 22:03

I fear women opening bottles of beer with their vaginas.

FrannyandZooey · 05/07/2006 22:03

NQC I have asked you not to link to my home page on here

NotQuiteCockney · 05/07/2006 22:03

I didn't link! I just quoted! I thought that was ok?

NotQuiteCockney · 05/07/2006 22:05

Don't you turn into a pumpkin about now?

FrannyandZooey · 05/07/2006 22:06

Yes but not before I have pureed it using only my lady bits

PrettyCandles · 05/07/2006 22:08

Have you ever thought of retraining? An alternative career? After all, you have a rare skill.

No, seriously, I'm impressed. I've often tried to 'expel', but it doesn't seem to work for me. (Why? If I can expel a placenta, then why not?)

NormaSnorks · 05/07/2006 22:11

OK, can someone tell me whuch size you order if you are 40, but had two children by caesarian? Average/ medium build....??

NotQuiteCockney · 05/07/2006 22:13

Over 30, you take the larger size.

Amusingly, the DSes were the one thing that would have been useful to expell, and I didn't even vaguely manage that.

Dottydot · 05/07/2006 22:14

ooh - NCQ - I'm a bit like that! Have really heavy periods, so have learnt to hold it all in (mostly) until I get to the loo - very handy in the mornings! Still need Always night time pads on all the time, but tend not to flood because I can hold on until I get to the loo.

Still can't face the thought of a mooncup though

NormaSnorks · 05/07/2006 22:32

Can't seem to find it on www.boots.co.uk is the mooncup website the only place to get one online??

matnanplus · 05/07/2006 22:40

I introduced some nany friends to the mc and they have all had postive experiences.

I have endo and clotty 10 day loss and it has helped as it was pads only before the mc.

Several friends with light loss but cramps have seen a loss or reduction in cramping on switching from tampons to mc.

I have scuba dived in mine with np problems.

T M I ALERT ^

As to loss, at the start when i know it is due, the mc is often filled with a mucusy liquid, that then becomes red blood and tails off to brown liquid and finally back to the mucusy stuff with a tinge of brown.

Couldn't help but laugh at the idea of ant trouble

acnebride · 05/07/2006 23:23

Overrun, I'd second the advice to get a referral to gynae (I'm just waiting for mine) but in the meantime on the contraception issue, why not try a family planning clinic? might even be open in the evening so you could leave kids behind? they do vary a lot but the good ones are triff IMO

Nanou1 · 06/07/2006 09:41

foxinsocks. same here re gyno. come from France. where do you come from?

Jasnem · 06/07/2006 10:02

nicnack2 - yes you can use it with a coil.
NQC - seriously impressed. Will be trying that in future...

Post baby use... I'm hoping bf will delay af as long as poss.

foxinsocks · 06/07/2006 10:03

I was born in the UK but spent around 10 years studying and working in S Africa

themoon66 · 06/07/2006 10:33

Not read the whole thread, but can I ask..... do these things spill over if you lie down in bed at night?

Bozza · 06/07/2006 10:40

No because they form a seal. And when you stand up again it is all caught back in the cup.

matnanplus · 06/07/2006 10:44

Mope no spillage as they maintain consistant contact with the vagina.

They have airholes, the size of a pin hole just under the rim and sometimes a little moisture will appear if mc is full to the brim.

As to public wc, either get a RADAR key from centre management in shopping centres at around £4 each and use disabled that has a basin or just empty and wipe and reinsert.

Some take water to swill it but i forget more times than i remember.

Also remember to wipe fingers before exiting cubicle!!!

glassofwine · 06/07/2006 11:01

Ok, so you've all inspired me have just ordered mine and hope it'll be here in the next coupleof days as I suspect I'm due soon.

How tricky was it to fit?

expatinscotland · 06/07/2006 11:05

it took me some getting used to, glass. second time better than the first. i trimmed the stem down some and that helped.

matnanplus · 06/07/2006 11:06

I found it easy the second time i tried, the 'folding' instructions are good, it takes a few tries, and if your dry down there it will be a little harder work.

You will get the 'feel' for whether it is in correctly or not very quickly, i even now [15m on] once it's in rotate it to ensure it has unfurled all the way round, but then i'm a bit of a funny shape in there i'm told.
