I guess I start..
My cervix is on the outside, it can't all hang where it should and no manner of pelvic floor exercises or devises will get it back there.
I'm 41, one fab dd and wanted more but there you are, can't now can I?

This thread, hopefully, will be for those waiting, recovering or supporting

Yes I've been told to attend au naturel

Mix of office, clinical (healthcare) and travelling. I'm supposed to be driving 180 miles to a meeting a month after the op. I will probably book the train but not sure if it will get me there on time Confused. It's one I actually want to go to so I'm frustrated at the thought I might struggle.

Is a glass of twine the night before allowed Odd?

spudmama · 24/11/2013 20:36

Tired i have only just started driving after 5 weeks that is a bit of can't be bothered and a bit of didn't feel safe. I have also missed out on some work stuff that i wanted to attend gutted but for once in my life its all about me and my health feel quite selfish.

TiredDog · 24/11/2013 21:34

I hear you. I'm just struggling with the idea. My denial is eroding but I'm still struggling. I suspect I'll accept when I'm post op and detached enough from work so that I don't give a fig!

TiredDog · 24/11/2013 21:36

How are all of you managing just life? I'm a single mum. I have got help lined up but not driving will make life v difficult just shopping etc. Even if buy online I have a long trip from front door to my kitchen

fledtoscotland · 24/11/2013 21:40

Tired - I'm 2 wks 2 days post op and managed to cook dinner tonight but was exhausted after standing to chop onions and brown the mince. I don't actually fancy leaving the house at all

Tmi but does anyone else get pins & needles in their legs when having a poo. It's v odd but but I loose all sensation in my right leg every time I have a bowel movement

TiredDog · 24/11/2013 21:49

That's a little weird fled. I'm trying to fathom the physiology of that. Possibly nerve related but I'm wondering if you're using new muscles (or rearranged ones) and bruised and swollen they are squeezing a blood vessel when sat down

It might just be related to position rather than the poo bit!

TiredDog · 24/11/2013 21:50

Try sitting in that position for same duration of time and see if same happens?

fledtoscotland · 24/11/2013 22:21

That's just it tired- I never get pins & needles any other time. I'm not aware I sit differently on the loo to on a chair.

TiredDog · 24/11/2013 22:30

Well fwiw I get sciatica sat on the loo, in one car and a certain chair at work???

It's probably a very subtle positional thing - hopefully temporary

fledtoscotland · 24/11/2013 22:41

Hadn't thought of sciatica as it's not painful just numb iykwim. Had sciatica when I was pregnant with ds1. Will see how it goes before mentioning it to the gp

Oddsocksrus · 25/11/2013 06:33

Ooooh! I early forgot shewhowines I can't see my actual uterus but I have been promised pictures!

Sorry all, this was a conversation on another thread, I'm really curious as to what it all looks like

OP posts:
TiredDog · 25/11/2013 07:26

Generally smaller than you expect. I've seen mine from the inside. Smooth toned and pink. Amazed me that I had carried 3 babies in there

Good luck

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 25/11/2013 07:57

Good luck today Oddsocks. Hope it all goes well.

shewhowines · 25/11/2013 08:16

You should be there now. Thinking of you.

Was I on this other thread?

spudmama · 25/11/2013 08:18

Posted last night but now dissapeared...

Fled i have pins and needles in the tops of my legs but this is all the time i was told it was nerve damageand should get better which it is slowly.

Tired how old are your children? I personally didn't need any help myself but the kids did

Oddsocksrus · 25/11/2013 09:20

Sitting waiting, on the list for 11.
Seen the man, the anaesthetist, the nurse and the nice man torturing me about what I'm going get to eat for breakfast tomorrow.....
The glycerine suppositories didn't work, what an indignified thing to do that was!

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 25/11/2013 09:27

Oddsocks how are the nerves? Are you in a single room or having company? The other women on my ward were brilliant.

fledtoscotland · 25/11/2013 10:15

Oddsocks - think of you.

Can I have a moan? Feel very tearful and emotional today. DH & I argued last night (I'm being picky, he's tired, he thinks he should get a rest on his time off, I've pointed out I've had surgery). He didn't get up this morning so I had to walk to school. It's only half a mile but I'm sore and tired. He's taken dogs out to the wind farm and I'm feeling sorry for myself. Didn't like to moan else where on mumsnet as I appear to have a following after a post at the weekend where someone commented how ungrateful I was towards DH (the noisy neighbour thread got dug up and restarted for some reason). Moan over, sorry

fled it's better to vent on here than at your husband. Could you have a calm Conversation with him about how you are feeling and ways to manage the situation. Is it possible that someone else can help take your DC to school? I understand how you feel though I would not of liked have the school run at 2 weeks, it perhapes isn't the walk but having to keep to a strict time schedule.

I logged into my work emails today, and am now having a panic about the amount of paper work I need to catch up on. My GP signed me off for another 2 weeks as requested by Occupational Health but now I'm just wanting to get back in order to catch up...

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 25/11/2013 15:26

Fled I think you need to have an honest talk with your DH about what you can and cannot do. These things are not optional. He may need to organise his 'rest time' around your 'recovery time' rather than vice versa.

I hope Oddsocks' op went well.

Oddsocksrus · 25/11/2013 17:03

Halloooooo!
V sleepy but ok I guess
There was abit of a gap between anaesthetic and pain meds which was no fun but I'm sitting up now, waiting for a sandwich
