LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance
I guess I start..
My cervix is on the outside, it can't all hang where it should and no manner of pelvic floor exercises or devises will get it back there.
I'm 41, one fab dd and wanted more but there you are, can't now can I?

This thread, hopefully, will be for those waiting, recovering or supporting

The worry is at last over for you. Day 2 wasn't my greatest day, but it should be all up from now on. Did they do it the old fashioned way or did they manage to find your notes?
Enjoy your shower and fingers crossed for a speedy and trouble free recovery. Flowers

Hope waiting and crem are feeling more human too.

shewhowines · 09/11/2013 14:06

Who was it had the WI talk? How did it go?

shewhowines · 09/11/2013 14:09

How is it going kingfisher ?

Waitingaround · 09/11/2013 15:26

Hope you get your shower fled.
I'm on the mend now I hope- feeling much more positive in my head. Still have pelvic pain but beginning to wonder if some of that is bladder related which according to google is perfectly normal. Actually looking forward to going back to work in a couple of weeks (will be 6 weeks off in all).
How's everyone else? Is any one christmas shopping yet- might have to stop myself spending too much this year as am spending far too much time on amazon Smile

thekingfisher · 09/11/2013 15:53

Thanks Shew for asking…I am booked in for the 27th November - feeling a little lonely as I think only odd socks will be close to me timing wise .

Having some major wobbles - generally in the middle of the night, mostly caused by two of my best friends who keep on asking me if i'm sure i'm doing the right thing and questioning me on having it done laproscopically (i'm due to have abdom) and that I ought to get a second opinion so I can get it done that way…

I will check with my consultant but he said that as I had had c-section he would always go in abdominally because of possible scar tissue adhesions and the like…. (anyone got any opinions on that?)

Also because I had UAE as an emergency case in Paris they seem to think I should just let that do its work and see how I am in 6 months….. aaarrrggggh

So am kind of trying not to think about it whilst then thinking of nothing else in the middle of night!

plus am also REALLY worried that something will go wrong and i'll end up in a worse place than I am now

Sorry for a bit of a moan fest…but thank you for asking!Smile

fledtoscotland · 09/11/2013 16:14

V v sore after my shower. Just had oxynorm so hoping that will start to work soon. Catheter out at my request. Drain out too. Am 24hrspost op so really don't want to overdo it yet don't want to be a patient iykwim.

Re lap v open - have the lap if you can. This is my 3rd open abdo surgery and it's blardy sore

thekingfisher · 09/11/2013 16:18

Feld, take it easy and don't rush… look after yourself

I have just sent email to my consultant asking the lap v abdom question...

Oddsocksrus · 09/11/2013 18:03

Oh fled there you are! Welcome back, I am sorry to hear that you are sore, am very Angry at the still lost notes but I guess better than any more delay?

thekingfisher you wait! the man will find something else to delay things at Monday's consult and you'll go first lol and I bet someone else will be along soon to join our merry band.

I am loving having you all on here, thank you. I'm not very keen on telling folks much about this in RL, they pull faces, turn green and rapidly change the subject ( well they do ask what exactly I'm having done and I don't seem l have much of a filter on the detail lol)

A Loving silver for the princess, I've only come across the little silver plasters which do seem to work, let's hope it is all dried up and better REALLY soon
Thanks to all

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 09/11/2013 20:31

Fled glad you hear you're all done now and on the mend. Hope they get your pain under control. The woman in the next bed sounds like she needs a Hmm face! Grin

shewhowines · 10/11/2013 15:54

We'll hang around for you kingfisher and odd . Don't worry.

How are you today fled ?

My 11yr old DS is having a GA tomorrow for a minor op, so have got his collywobbles to deal with now. He's been ok up till now...

Waitingaround · 10/11/2013 15:59

How are you feeling Fled, hopefully a bit brighter today?
My 2 dc have never had an op- it must be really tough for you she [hugs]

fledtoscotland · 10/11/2013 20:41

She - hope your DS is ok. Sure he will be. I cried loads when ds1 had grommets fitted. He was back from theatre before I'd dried my eyes wondering what had happened.

Feeling more human today just horrendously bloated with lovely trapped wind Confused. Home in the morning which I've got mixed feelings about. Want to be in my own bed yet scared about overdoing it

Cremolafoam · 10/11/2013 21:22

Fled the sofa will be your command centre for the next wee while.
Just remember to come on here to whinge about constipation anything you like!
Also sitting is an 'activity' so lie down when you can!! Smile Glad you're out the other side !

Good luck to your ds tomorrow too SHewhowines. Fingers crossed.

King+Odds, keep strong : it won't be long now.xx

Oddsocksrus · 11/11/2013 10:42

The WI was fab Grin, about 45 people there and we had a lot of fun, I've already had a pic from the lady that one a tree to plant in the raffle.

Fingers crossed for this afternoon for the final bit of consultant, scan etc

Fled I hope that you are on your way home and have had a lovely big fart Smile

OP posts:
LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 11/11/2013 11:40

she how's your boy? I hope it all went well and he was ok with t n the end.

Hope you get home today Fled it's so much nicer being in your own bed. Take it easy. It's so odd feeling air bubbling round where it shouldn't be. I expected an alien worm monster to come out of my shoulder blade at one point. Shock. I found peppermint tea really helped though I was sceptical at first. Peppermint cordial in hot water was nice too.

Good luck to King and odd.

I stupidly did 2 hours ironing in a bit of a temper yesterday (don't ask Hmm) and fell asleep straight aferwards so probably not ready for that yet. I think the emotional fall-out from lots of stuff is hitting now. Too much time to think Grin. Back to work soon, I think.

Oddsocksrus · 11/11/2013 15:15

She hope your son is all ok now? My cousin's little boy just had his done, she was in bits, he was quite happy!
I'm sitting waiting to see the new man, already had a lovely detailed internal probe thing ultrasound which shows that there isn't anything more to add to the list Grin

OP posts:
shewhowines · 11/11/2013 17:54

Ds is fine. At home now and fast asleep. He was a star. Very brave. Lording it on the sofa surrounded by every unhealthy food item you can think of and compiling the next few days menus, consisting of hotdogs etc. you get the picture...

What did the consultant conclude odd ?

You can't say you weren't warned fled We all said the worst bit of it all, is the trapped wind and the constipation. What is the current state of your bowels?, if you don't mind me asking Grin Hope you are nice and comfy on that sofa now.

Letsface I know you said don't ask but why on earth did you do 2 hours of ironing? you mad fool I'm much further along than you and I am yet to tackle hoovering and ironing. some might say I'm milking it, I just say that I'm being sensible

Oddsocksrus · 11/11/2013 19:13

La la la la l all la,a,a,!!!!!
Ok, so kingfisher you'll only be two days after me, we can compare nurses, drains, packing and everything,...

Arghhhhhhhhh! Moved back, they gave me 18th slot to someone else......
On the plus side I am now first on the list for the 25th rather than 7th on the 18th...
Ovaries are in fab nick, at least 10 years wear in them declared the man ( he must have been gorgeous 20 years ago) so they stay.

Front and back repairs, trans vag hysterectomy with a sacral spinal attachment of the top of the vag..... I'll be lifted, tightened, period and hrt free in 13days

On the down side, the saggy vag might well be hiding more of a bladder prolapse than first thought (oh the probe it revealed many things) so I may have more incontinence to manage... 3 nights in hospital is the prediction..

The man's secretary was a star, really good fun, full of good advice like it would be good to get a wax as it gets all itchy from shaving lol
Laalalalala,alalala,alalala,arrrrggghhhhh!

Oh and back for more bloods etc next Thursday

OP posts:
Cremolafoam · 11/11/2013 19:44

Goodness odds , you've had a right mot! Shame It's been moved back thoWink. Still 1st on the list is a silver lining. and you'll have proper caring and nice food in private clinic .

SHewhowines so glad your wee man is ok. What a star.

Lftmad oi! Lay off the Domestic Goddess routine.Grin You're showing us up and if dh gets to hear about it I'll be in trouble. I have used the tube attachment on the Dyson though as I was beginning to feel the sofa was like the floor of stable( full of nuts and crisps and even found a couple of ikea pencilsBlush)

I have been back to the practice nurse today and there were some tears I'm embarrassed to say. She has re anointed my tum with silver but it's actually WORSE. The middle bit has gone now too. So pissed off but now just gave to wait til I re glue.
Feeling like life is just an interminable waiting room. PN says I have yo be patient and brave. I just burst into tears. Gawd the shame . Feel vulnerable and stabby tbh.

Have a 'long term absence review' at work tomorrow . Makes note to self not to weep and show myself up again. I bloody wish I could go back to sodding work actually but gp is now saying mid -January ( if I haven't fossilised from boredom by thenAngry)

As you were....

shewhowines · 11/11/2013 20:31

Oh crem, I'd have been in tears too. If its getting worse, what are they doing to make it go the other way? You should be at the well but resting stage, which is pleasurable as you can go out and enjoy yourself, not back to where you were in the beginning. Thanks How frustrating! And no shame!

odd frustrating for you to be put back yet again, especially as you are paying for the privilege. On the plus side the food was lovely today (ds was private and we were fed too) just not in the same league as the crap served to me via our lovely nhs. To be fair, what I had was tasty, it was just the meat in it, that was inedible and spoilt it.
The gorgeous doctor won't be seeing you at your best unfortunately. Never mind it will brighten your stay. I had one too, my friends even commented. we can but dream

Waitingaround · 11/11/2013 20:54

I feel cheated my consultant was a chubby old man (stamps foot)
I'm really sorry that it's still not going well for youchem take care x
Occupational health are holding a phone interview with me tomorrow to discuss 'management and review' of my unacceptable sickness. Thinking about work I tried my work trousers on today and there is no way that they will fit so might share that with the occupational health team Smile

Waitingaround · 11/11/2013 20:55

And let's what's up, was husband an arse??

Cremolafoam · 11/11/2013 21:30

Waiting - the whole return to work thing is ridiculous isn't it?
they really should base it on your ability to fit work trousers
It's as random a methodology as the one we've got.
Have I been signed off by a medical practitioner for 12 weeks-YES
Have I been signed off following humiliating examination by an independent Doctor nominated by OH?-YES
am I fit to work? NO
Have 2 doctors said as much -YES

Then why the actual fuck do I have sit in a boardroom with a manager and a random HR person and tell them again that I have a open wound and no ammount of 'reasonable adjustment ' in the office will make a noodle of difference. I'll come back when the doctor says I'm fit to.
I'm already part time FGS!
Tiresome shit waiting that's what I say.
Grin Make sure you do the " croaky voice of The Poorly" over the phone to hammer home the pointGrinGrin
I'll be doing my "exaggerated shuffle of misery " into the office.
Angry

spudmama · 11/11/2013 22:36

Hi all,
fled hopefully you are settled at home and if you have trapped wind i urge you to get some peppermint cordial and make it up with hot water it was the only thing that worked for me, and double dose lactolose, dried apricots and nuts for the constipation. [Blush]
odd & king we are not going anywhere so don't worry we are here for you including bowel advice. [Grin]
As for the return to work thing i cannot believe some of you are getting hassled by work on when you are returning just make sure you give them all the gory details always good if men are invovled as they wont know where to put themselves..

Warning mini rant comming just had one of the crapest days.. hubby up all night with stomach bug , youngest up half night with reacurring ear infection meaning i spent the night on the floor next to the cot fluffing his head so he wouldnt wake up 7yr old, 6am all awake hubby sat on loo puking into the shower leaving me to sort both boys having to lift 1 year old getting changed etc, called mil to come round to help thank god got them off to school/nursery then back to bed before getting 1year up the docs with mil, now listening to one yr old coughing me thinks its gonna be another long night, hope that doesn't sound to moany but i sometimes feel its never about me in this house and hoping no damage done hauling the 1yr old around.
Thanks for listening if you got this far
