I guess I start..
My cervix is on the outside, it can't all hang where it should and no manner of pelvic floor exercises or devises will get it back there.
I'm 41, one fab dd and wanted more but there you are, can't now can I?

This thread, hopefully, will be for those waiting, recovering or supporting

shewhowines · 08/11/2013 12:22

She's probably in a right old panic now, about to go down. Well, Hopefully she is going down and they've not cocked up again and hopefully they found her notes.

How are you both waiting and crem ?

Is everyone else doing ok?

Some words of advice
Because you are feeling totally normal again - don't forget that you've had a major op and

a. run in the rain
b. pull your niece off the sofa in a play fight

Because you'll later feel it Sad

spudmama · 08/11/2013 12:58

shew good words of advice there, i have spent the last 2 days recovering for going out mon and tues having a 'little' wander around the shops and too much bending down to pick things up. Feel like i had gone back almost a week in recovery Sad.
But my bowels seem to have finally recovered Grin

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 08/11/2013 13:28

I wonder how Fled's doing. It must have gone ahead or she'd have posted by now?

Fingers crossed.

Yes, very good advice she.

Odd question I know, but is it possible to have 'ghost' period pains? I know people who have had limbs amputated can sometimesn feel a sensation where the missing limb would be. Last night I had exactly the same niggly feeling that I'd get the few days before my period. Not cramping as such-just niggling. I've just checked my calendar and I would be starting a period tomorrow f I hadn't had the op. Weird.

Waitingaround · 08/11/2013 13:55

Good point well made she
I'm feeling much better in myself but still have pain and swelling in the pelvic area. However bleeding has almost stopped so hopefully I'm getting better Smile.
sorry lets don't know anything about phantom period pain but you can get limb pain still after an amputation.
How's everyone else?

Waitingaround · 08/11/2013 13:57

Sorry I didn't reply in a coherent manner lets, my brain is obviously not functioning!

Oddsocksrus · 08/11/2013 14:12

lets surely there is a hormonal response. Certainly for the first one there must be some residual hormones (sorry can't remember if you had to have the complete job) that would cause something??? Is hrt a cyclical dose so your body responds the same?

I'm good today thank you waiting 10 days to go and madly trying to write a huge bid, two feature articles, sort out cover, convince clients that really I won't be ok to attend meetings first week in december and stay calm… failing with the last one and having limited success with everything in the middle lol

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 08/11/2013 17:14

Hope Fled's ok. If she's had a GA she's probably sleepy. Also, I doubt she's slept much the last 2 nights.

Glad to hear about your Christmas evening out Odd. It would be a real shame to miss all the fun. Smile

Obercome I Googled and it seems I'm not a freak of nature after all Grin. It's reasonably common.

Funnily enough it's our work Xmas dinner I'm using as a goal. That's so nice that you've got willing drivers. At this rate I'll be exhausted just getting into a frock and a taxi never mind anything else...

I have had silver pads placed on my wound this morning -by practice sister .Still leaking alarmingly though.
My weight has plummeted by 7lbs in a week. All fluid ShockShockShock

shewhowines · 08/11/2013 18:07

I went down just after lunch and I was hardly aware of my DH visiting that evening, so she is probably still out of it. Looks like it went ahead though.

Wonders how fled is this morning

fledtoscotland · 09/11/2013 13:29

Afternoon all. Sat up for lunch but exhausted so lying back on the bed. The nurses are lovely (although being tested by the very rude drama queen in the bed next to me).

Am sore (to be expected) but can highly recommend OxyContin and fentanyl in the pca (although that made me nauseous). Am incredibly itchy (prob the opiates) and desperate for a shower which has been promised after the ward round.

Thankyou for all your thoughts and keep your fingers crossed for a quick recovery for me
