LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance
I guess I start..
My cervix is on the outside, it can't all hang where it should and no manner of pelvic floor exercises or devises will get it back there.
I'm 41, one fab dd and wanted more but there you are, can't now can I?

This thread, hopefully, will be for those waiting, recovering or supporting

Hopefully they'll be able to sort you out really quickly now they are on to it. Hope you feel better in yourself soon, even if the wound takes a but longer to heal.

Thanks
LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 03/11/2013 20:01

I really hope they can sort it out without more nastiness. I will hold my stitches especially tight as I'm waiting for micky flannagan to start his show. We bought tickets before I knew I was having the op s I hope he's not too funny. Lol.

shewhowines · 04/11/2013 08:40

How are you this morning? Did you manage to get any sleep?

spud I know what you mean about the weekend. Hope you can nap with no guilt today. Your DH sounds a star for telling you to stop doing anything enjoy it whilst it lasts-it soon wears off .

fled hope you had a not too worrying weekend. This last bit of the wait is the worst. I just wanted to get it over with, by this stage.

spudmama · 04/11/2013 08:57

Crem hope you got some sleep last night.
Shew forgot its an inset day today hubby has day off and little one has been packed off to nursery, lying on bed airing my scar have got paranoid after crem trip to A&E and showered in hibiscrub this morningGrin

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 04/11/2013 09:09

Morning Crem. Best of luck for today. I really hope they can get you sorted.
Fled by this time next week, it'll all be done and you'll be resting up at home. And nothing nasty is happening On Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday so they're 'in the bag'. Sorry if that sounds a bit wet but it helped me to think about it that way.
Spud you are definitely not the only one who likes it better when everyone else is at school/work. I've been feeling guilty about not being able to do much with the kids last week but the day's my own today, to take at my own pace without feeling guilty. The front door shut behind them this morning and I had a happy little sigh Grin

Cremo - hope abx have kicked in.

Thankyou everyone - blitzing the house whilst I can. DH has even heard of high dusting let alone done it. My lovely Iranian friend came round to thread my eyebrows & she decided to do my face like you do in Iran. I never realised I had a hairy foreheadBlushConfusedShock

Is taking my mind off Thursday though. Going out with best pal Wednesday to jack vetriano exhibition. Figured if I keep busy I don't have time to think

Oddsocksrus · 04/11/2013 14:29

18th of November!!!!!!!!

I've borrowed some money and gone private, the same surgeon, different hospital.

I've spoken to the planned care team today and because of delays etc I won't 'be done' until late December/early January. I've just reached the end of my tether as this all gets progressively worse each month and I have just had my 9th lot of antibiotics for cystitis which says it all really

phew! the end is in sight

Just finished at the ward with doctor. Fluid from top of wound been drained. Am strapped back together and she feels it could have all come apart but prefers not to stitch in case of introducing more alien objects into it. I have a fever and am on amoxi-clav . Check on Friday to see if better or worse. May need an iv if worse( and admitted) HOPE NOT??
She was nice. Said it was just bad luck that it's going so slowly but not surprised because of extensive scar tissue in the inside which doesn't want to knit. Also diabetes.
I am wiped but reassuredConfused

shewhowines · 04/11/2013 16:28

Where's crem? Getting worried about her now.

Not so good about the thrush overcome but good that all else is well. Hopefully the 2.5 Inches will go down still.

Not good about your forehead fled Grin but good that you are keeping busy. Sounds a nice day planned for Wednesday. Is high dusting a posh word for doing the cobwebs? not that my DH is threatening to spray ours, for christmas decorations, oh no...

18th nov oddsocks. That's much better than end of dec/beginning of jan. Pity that you've had to go private. Out of interest, if you dont mind, how much are they fleecing you, for that? At least the end is very much in sight now.

Hope everyone has had a peaceful, restful day. I had a lazy morning, then lunch out, followed by a dash round the supermarket pushing a fairly heavy trolley for the first time on my own. I had to tip a shelf stacker to load my car up with the bags. Peace is broken bow the kids are back, but at least they could unload the car for me. They moaned at helping me put it away though somethings never change

shewhowines · 04/11/2013 16:37

Oops, there you are crem. I got distracted after starting to post and xposted.

Look after yourself. Hopefully you'll be fine.

fledtoscotland · 04/11/2013 16:44

Shewhowines - am showing my age as we used to call it high dusting in wards years ago when the domestics took down curtains and did round the lights etc. I mean cobwebs/round lights/curtain tops/top of pictures.

Cremo - they don't normally re-stitch. Have had two dehissed (reopened wounds) before and they've been packed and strapped

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 04/11/2013 17:23

OMFG all this re opening of wounds! It's a feckin design flaw really, isn't it. Maybe when women stop growing, we should routinely have some kind of ziplock thing inserted to save us the bother and horror of it?

At least there's a plan Crem but bloody hell.

Oddsocks I'm really glad you've got a date but Angry that you have to pay in addition to your NI contributions. I think it's a measure of how horrible things are for you that you're willing to hand over wodges of cash rather than wait any longer. Sad for the state of the NHS.

Oddsocksrus · 04/11/2013 19:39

Its going to be £5300, an fairly scary amount of money and I am also Angry that it is necessary but I had a very interesting conversation about investing in health. In the grand scheme of what I need to be fit for starting in February with some extremely important meetings that will totally chance my business, better to spend the money now than miss far more than that by not being seen and doing the chat!
Crem bloody hell!!!!!! I hope you get some rest and feel better by tomorrow, you seem remarkably calm, it sounds damn scary to me!
OverCome my sympathies, I can see that one coming as I have never had any antibiotics that have failed to create the wonder that is the crotch wriggle.. it will start tomorrow around midday for me.. day 2.5 of pills, never fails…..
just to out myself a little, I'm giving a talk to the WI tomorrow night.. standing is awful for the falling out vag, sitting isn't so good for the thrush… la la la…...

Odds , actually feeling a bag of emotions Angry and righteous fury Confused but no point is there? I am back to shuffling self-pityGrin
Shuffle. Sniff. Shuffle. Leak.mope...

Sorry not to have the energy to reply to everyone that's left messages here.
I'm just too whacked to do it but I really really appreciate the moral support. Poor dh has taken a battering this last 24hours. Wink

KLAXON Just to say : my swollen jelly belly was the start of all this. It was as taut as a drum and hot and red. Just saying so you can keep an eye out.
The wound at top and bottom went hard and red ( is still) and burst. But now the stabby pains have gone and I'm told that the leaking is good. Better out than in.

Ok revolting bit over. Want to wish odds and fled all the best for your ops. Not surprised you went private . Having my life on hold for the last two years has prevented me going for better jobs. It shouldn't have but I just didn't feel up to making good on a job that I couldn't commit to .

Gosh twice ! Sorry

spudmama · 04/11/2013 21:34

oddscocks money worth spent if you are having to wait that long for your op, it will all beover and you can get on with the rest of your life, thats my plan anyway when i am back on my feet.

cremglad things are on the way to getting better.

Had a good day today a friend came and took me out, went and got more painkillers from boots, then had sarni's by the sea some good old fresh air works wonders.
