Morning all, new thread, croissants on trolley, and I'll put a brew on.

amberlight · 06/09/2013 17:10

Mmm, it's not showing a request. I'm not sure it's me who authorises people, though it let me do it last time. Perhaps FB is on a go-slow.

amberlight · 06/09/2013 17:13

KK if you message me with who you are, using the mn message thingy, I can find you and add you, I think.

KurriKurri · 06/09/2013 17:29

OK amber - will do, thank you.

foofooyeah · 06/09/2013 17:39

HI amber, I have asked to join too, will try and send you a pm but doesn't always work for me

smee, very interested that you had a double mx as that's what I want eventually for both looks and as a preventative measure and they said we can discuss again after chemo. I have big old droopy boobs and fancy some pert teenage ones.

Gigondas · 06/09/2013 17:51

Ohh new friends -great .

Too tired to object to big gig watching sodding Dora the explorer and her kleptomaniac fox pal. Also help me out but orange woman this is surely the orange woman equivalent to Tom etc.

malteserzz · 06/09/2013 17:52

Did you have a good lunch gigs ?
Lol at orange woman !
Kk have friend requested you

Gigondas · 06/09/2013 17:58

Was very nice- nice food and good gossip. Some things don't change like the tendency for works nights out to end in some kind of row or fight. Who said accountants were dull? Bit stiff now as long cab ride back.

malteserzz · 06/09/2013 18:06

Glad you had a good time ! Mr malt is an accountant and he's not dull either
Shame about back

malteserzz · 06/09/2013 18:07

Though you didn't actually say it was your back ! Shame about whatever is stiff !

KurriKurri · 06/09/2013 18:39

Hope I have answered everyone's friend request - forgive me if I've missed someone - I had a slight panic and shrieked at DH to come and help me Grin

daughterofemin sent v nice message to say the little text has arrived and they were very pleased - aw. Perhaps we can have a little Emin vigil on Thurs..for candles and thoughts ?

KurriKurri · 06/09/2013 19:09

MAS - that would be lovely, I was thinking the same thing - I know EMIN's family will be in all our thoughts on that day.

I'm glad they liked the little text - it was a lovely thought.

OP posts:
smee · 06/09/2013 19:29

That would be good, MAS. I think she'd approve. Sad

foofoo, feel v.free to ask me anything you want if you do decide to pursue it.

Gig, blimey where do you find those pics?! Grin What did they say about your wound? Did I miss that post? Confused

MAS, how did DS get on at college?? Good start I hope.

Leaving DH and DS at home and am off to lovely friend's. I have wine, crisps, dips. I'm sure she'll have similar, so all's perfect! Hope you all have similar. Smile

BetsyBoop · 06/09/2013 19:36

I seem to be forever trying and failing to keep up with the thread these days...

HND - gosh what a shock and a worry that must have been for everyone

MAS that's a lovely idea

pigeons and smee thanls for the hot flushes top tips. We have a memory foam topper at the moment, which is soooo comfy, like the idea of one that cools too. Has anyone tried a chillow or similar?

There is loads more I've read and already forgotten damn chemo brain

Well after waking up with a raging sore throat this morning I spent 6hrs at the hospital while they ran tests and debated whether to keep me in and eventually sent me home with ABs. I also saw the onc and we talked about how the last cycle had been. He didn't seem overly fussed and apart from maybe some stronger painkillers I don't think he's planning on changing anything. So looks like I just need to grow a pair and get on with it Hmm . Lily I think you said you had 100cand then 75 thingummies of tax? I know I'm tall (1.80m) and slightly plump but I had 220 thingummies of tax, no wonder it whacked me sideways Shock

BetsyBoop · 06/09/2013 19:44

foofoo I'm planning bmx too, partly preventative, partly cos I had huge boobs and don't want to be lop sided. So far supportive noises have been made. I will have to see a psychologist to prove I'm not mad though! My BCN said the plans for surgery will be kicked off as I approach my last chemo cycle (4/6 done so far)

Lilymaid · 06/09/2013 20:20

220 thingummies of tax, Betsy? I'm surprised you are still coherent! I have managed to get through this round a bit better than last time, probably helped by drinking vast amounts of water. Not much food though, which was probably not a good thing but it is hard to eat much when it all tastes weird and you are afraid it might reappear a few minutes later!
I haven't had any hot flushes fortunately ... but from listening to Women's Hour this week, this is apparently something to look forward to when on tamoxifen or similar, so my time will come!

BetsyBoop · 06/09/2013 20:35

will have to try loads of water lily - I struggled drinking it last time as it "felt" soapy in my mouth, even though I couldn't taste it. I know what you mean about eating things and quickly reappearing at the other end Hmm grim. Still I've lost the 3kg I'd gained during my first 3 cycles, so it's not all bad Grin

Gigondas · 06/09/2013 20:42

There was article in times about tamoxifen saying people get put off taking it due to side effects ( no shit as wasn't that origins of this gang). Also big bc article in good housekeeping this month .

Yep got ok that wound healed up do can bath smee - may leave it a week or so before swim tho Smile.

MaltGrin at minging boys- dss was a right soap dodger as a teen. The smell of dirty clothes boy masked by lynx is not a good one.

Cant add much to recon talk

Nj- sorry you are not having easy time but as pigeons said you have a lot on your plate. Fingers crossed on house . It's a statement of bleeding obvious but the rational mind can't cope well when you are under the weather.

Ruby - hope abs kick in quick (and kitkat). I have been round in circles on positive thinking inviting good outcome Ahd vice versa ( not just with this but with all my long pregnancy mishaps).

i have discussed it i therapy and maybe got a bit better on coping, but think wisest thing was smee who pointed out that your thoughts/worries and fears don't predict bad outcome. Pigeons excellent example shows that.

Kids god mum (the lovely domestic CEO) coming over tomorrow so will have lunch then mr gigs , mr CEO and kids going to rugby so ceo and I can gossip Grin. Then lazy Sunday - have a particular joy of wrapping big gigs books in sticky back plastic which is a joyful throwback to my school days not.

malteserzz · 06/09/2013 20:42

Glad Emins daughter liked it and lovely idea for Thursday Smile

Betsy sorry you're having such a bad time it doesn't seem fair when you had a rough time on fec too x

BetsyBoop · 06/09/2013 20:45

gigs I'd missed that you said your would had finally healed WOOHOOO !

malteserzz · 06/09/2013 20:47

Gigs x posted, good news about wound
Ds has confessed to only cleaning his teeth twice this week and spending his money mostly on powerade and sweets, yuk !

kitkat1967 · 06/09/2013 20:53

wow - great news on wound Gig - you've been waiting a long time for that.

topsyturner · 06/09/2013 20:59

KK I think you'll find I'm the prettiest of the tamoxigang after you've looked at my Facebook pics (please ignore any where I am surrounded by loads of drunk women , and any of the ones where HND is dyeing my hair ...) Wink

Ruby I knew it was more than a headache ! You've been through loads of crappiness and you NEVER complain . So knew it had to be more !

Oh crap , lost my train of thought again ...
I blame HND as she bought me a bottle of wine and she's making pub snacks now (pics to follow on fb later)
And I feel a little hammered now ...

But just take for granted the knowledge that in(drunkanly) love you all loads Grin Wine Blush

topsyturner · 06/09/2013 21:00

Has your wound healed Gigs ?
Fab news , are you out swimming now ?
Grin

Gigondas · 06/09/2013 21:04

It has and I will be. Taken months but I can't complain as I know hnd had it worse.

Look forward to pub snack pics- have you got your wine straw topsy? No wine tonight but could be cake time
