Morning all, new thread, croissants on trolley, and I'll put a brew on.

OP posts:
jchocchip · 06/09/2013 21:13

Manic day here. Just read through so hugs to hnd, yay for gigs healed leg. Hurray for betsys weight loss and a clothes peg for malt's nose until her ds is hosed down.
Oh and a big cheer for kk's adventure into the other place :)
Right you can all stand down (up?) from the box on my account. I passed my 2 year check up. Grin Surgeon lady was lovely and spent quite a time discussing my foot as well as bc. I may have had a little moan about being down what with emin and weight gain and bursitis and no running.

Mil has arrived for a week and we are going to parkrun tomorrow. mil to do 2 laps, dh to do all 3 and I will stand around encouraging everyone.

Have had a beer and off to bed soon...

jchocchip · 06/09/2013 21:17

Mmmm Cake.
Hnd one reason took me so long to get online this evening was my brother on phone. Dneph had the police helicopter out looking for him yesterday... :( hope it is getting sorted but teenage angxt a plenty...

Gigondas · 06/09/2013 21:18

GrinGrinGrinSmile For ok check. I hope your foot gets better quick too jchoc as it is clearly getting you down.

And Grin that ade won masterchef- I would have been happy with Janet too.

malteserzz · 06/09/2013 21:31

That's brilliant Jchoc really pleased for you Grin
Sorry about DN though

BetsyBoop · 06/09/2013 21:33

WOOHOOO for jchoc too and hope your foot is soon mended

Gigondas · 06/09/2013 21:34

Oh no jchoc - how horribly worrying .

topsyturner · 06/09/2013 22:02

Gigs you git !
I'm still at HNDs and haven't watched masterchef yet !!!
(But he was my fave !)

topsyturner · 06/09/2013 22:03

Great news jane , I'm so happy for you !

Gigondas · 06/09/2013 22:28

It wasn't les with his punch me boozy loser face.

KurriKurri · 06/09/2013 23:24

topsy - I have noted you are the prettiest of the gang - in my picture I look like a small dog - I was having a bad hair day Grin

Glad your check went fine jchoc - you can relax now Smile hope the foot is sorted soon though, - sounds painful. Is everything OK with your nephew? - I hope so - v- worrying for you.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 06/09/2013 23:33

It's topsy and her access to hats. If I had a coppers hat I would look as good. I also want a next door neighbour who feeds me booze contemplates if pigeons too far to fit the bill.

Hnd- how are you feeling? Leaving aside dss , are you feeling ok after scare with kids (I went and double checked my meds whereabouts after that and rethought use of pretty bags to hold them as too tempting) and just generally feeling like you have a ton on?

topsyturner · 06/09/2013 23:59

I am hammered !
Damn you HND and your vodka and ginger beers ...
I can barely type , thank gawd for auto correct WineBlush

Gigondas · 07/09/2013 00:20

You might be hammered but vodka and ginger beer sounds lovely . Tho I haven't felt quite same about vodka since I gave myself alcohol poisoning a hangover on polish stuff some years ago. I was still dry retching on plane 24 hours later -it was worse than chemo or child birth.

Best turn in as little gigs no respecter of a lie in.

reallyreallyworried · 07/09/2013 04:03

Morning all, well morning ish!!

Thanks for all the kind responses. I am doing okay! Realised yesterday that I can't do quite as much as I thought I would be able to Sad I was thinking give it a few days and I could get back to work and normality! BUT I was knackered after just getting up and dressed!

So have decided that I will take off the 2wks from work as I was advised. That way I might relax and stop putting so much pressure on myself.

I am a bit stiff and sore, but doing the exercises and feeling okay. Seeing my breast for the first time was a bit of a shock! Interesting shape, at the moment! With all the swelling and bruising.

I hope you all manage to have a lovely weekend. Thanks for this amazing thread and the support it offers Thanks don't think I would of got this far without falling apart, without it!

Gigondas · 07/09/2013 06:18

Morning reallyworried -I think some time off is a very good idea. It's still very early for you so drugs, ga and bruising will be at their worst.

No wonder you feel so weak -it takes a good while to get over an op for me so be kind to yourself ( I know how scary and frustrating it is - I got annoyed with myself too).

Doing the exercises is great as it will keep everything from stiffening up. I know I didn't act as a vigilantly as I could on my left arm/shoulder after the op which didn't help. Now they have "rehurt" it , one plus point is I can move it more freely (tho it bloody hurts).

Mini gig up and watching fecking Barney -curse mr gig and his Netflix. Blow slightly softened by Brew and counting down to watching young montalbano tonight.

BetsyBoop · 07/09/2013 07:01

really one thing I've learnt through all this is "be kind to yourself". Take the time you need, work will still be there when you go back Smile

gigs one thing I don't miss is the 05:30 toddler waking, you could set your watch by DD, never made a difference what time she went to bed,DS was more civilised and often used to sleep til 07:00

malteserzz · 07/09/2013 07:26

Morning all
Up early to take steroids though still kept waking up last night. At least u didn't have Barney before 6 poor gigs

Betsy how are you today ?

Really sounds a good idea to take some time off, try and take it easy for a few days

Vodka and ginger beer does sound yum bit like crabbies. Ill be off the booze till next weekend though boo

Not much planned today, there's a war time air show near us so might sit in the garden and watch the planes go over

malteserzz · 07/09/2013 07:35

That was meant to say at least I didn't have Barney before 6. Barney is quite cute though ! Ds watches American rubbish or football now I miss the thomas the tank engine days !

Gigondas · 07/09/2013 07:45

We had a bit of Thomas - I loved gun so am keen one kid likes it. Barney is dire but worse than the wiggles or Barbie? Not sure - also it buys me some time to snooze and drink tea .

Betsey-mini gig just like yours with early start- big wasn't an early wake type but was a sod for settling at night.

Gigondas · 07/09/2013 07:46

Show sounds good malt - sadly only one visitor today as friends kids got dreaded start of term lurgy

HerNextDoorAt21 · 07/09/2013 09:10

Morning all. I had to endure Ben and Holly at 7am but info quite like nanny plum so it is tolerable. I suspect topsy may be a bit hungover like me

gigs I am still feeling a bit battered by everything and did text my dss yesterday to invite him out gorblunch sometimes to say the three sentences I want to say to him and then enjoy ourselves. ..... Told him I would not be ranting or lecturing. I was so relieved that he agreed that I burst into tears at work. I was saved by my friend who was going out to inspect an x ray machine (we work in medical physics) and she took me along for 'experience'. We had a sandwich and it took my mind off things. I was also able to take chocolates to A&E and the short stay ward got looking after DSS.

I have my operation to look forward to (?) on Thursday Smilewhich will hopefully FINALLY close the tiny hole left so I too can go swimming ..... I saw a woman in A&E with a pump the other night and actually shuddered lol my DH is off yo Brighton on Monday night for 3 nights For work so I hope the littlGrin ones (and big ones) behave then I am off uk my home town of Derby next Friday to have a weekend of me time and boy do I need it !!!

Jeez I have gone on a bit but in a better place today

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/09/2013 09:47

hnd that's good that dss will meet you for lunch and nice of you to take chocs to A&E - hope all goes well with patch up and that you have fab time back home -you deserve some respite from all this.
really time off for you too sounds v good.
Hooray that check up was fine and dandy jchoc - pesky foot must be very frustrating.
And swimming for gig ! am quite twitchy that haven't been since Thursday but hving written out the pool timetable I reckon I can go with T on Tuesday early evening which feels quite civilised as there should be no kiddies having lessons.
T returned from college quite cheery - then vaguely asked me to order 2 history and politics text books . One of his tutors is someone I know (v nice woman-good friend of one of my pals)

Today dh is helping dad load firewood from sawmill into their wood store for log burner and I may go to Basingstoke to look for some clothes for T..

Gigondas · 07/09/2013 09:56

A weekend away sounds great. I know what you mean about horrors of the pump- I still can't get over how awkward and heavy it was - I didn't have it on half as long as you.

It's good that dss is going to talk. You need to say your piece for your own peace of mind.

I like Ben and holly too- it does work on two levels like the Simpsons. Tip there is a long list of programmes that get on my nerves - I could go on but would be here all day.

BetsyBoop · 07/09/2013 10:28

sending for HNDs op

Malt still feeling totally knackered atm, hoping ABs will kick in before tomorrow and I might start feeling better (a bit excited as we are picking up our new car tomorrow!) I never felt that tired by this point on previous cycles so I guess it's a combination of the tax wallop and the cummulative effect. Also feeling very Hmm about the next two cycles, but it has to be done. I might need some forceably shoving through the chemo unit door hand holding nearer the time.

topsyturner · 07/09/2013 10:39

Uuuuuuugh
