Gracie glad you had a lovely time and Mas hope you have a nice relaxing break :)
Bye bye I have no experience in this but good luck with your decision

Crabbies with raspberry gone down very well just considering opening the strawberry and lime one to try too. Medicinal as I think I've bruised my coccyx spilling down the stairs this morning on over moisturised feet !

graciesmall09 · 19/07/2013 22:05

Have a super time mas, you certainly have the weather for it.

Ouch malt I sympathise. I feel on my coccyx about 20 years ago and keep getting flare ups. I started physio yesterday to help with the pain so hope you haven't injured yourself too much.

malteserzz · 19/07/2013 22:17

Thanks Gracie it's not too bad, standing and lying down is fine just sitting hurts
Hope yours improves Smile

trice · 19/07/2013 22:26

I have managed four loads of washing today. It's fabulous when the first load is dry before the second comes out if the machine. We all have lovely clean fresh bedding on tonight smelling of sunshine and roses. My roses are the best they have ever been this year, the garden smells amazing .

I didn't bother ironing in this heat though!

Malt, I feel your pain! It is so sore falling on your bum on sharp stairs. Hope the cider helped.

Copt, I hope you have a good time. Those mature ladies know how to party, they have had the practice!

topsyturner · 19/07/2013 22:43

Sweet Holy Lord it's hot tonight !
I think I might have to sleep naked in the garden tonight .

Anyone got a mosquito net they can lend me ..... ?
Grin

notJenkins · 20/07/2013 07:56

Good morning from me just checking in and throwing watermelon on the trolley.

Hope we are all ok. I have not caught up with the thread as had a busy few days. Have a house viewing this morning so need to do a couple of weeks worth of housework in an hour.

We are off in the camper later for the night. Excited as due to dc drama club etc we have not been able to get away for ages. Hope it is not too hot with all 6 of us crammed into the VW tonight ! It looks nice and breezy so hopefully it will be bearable.

What are we all up to this weekend ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/07/2013 08:26

have fun nj !
Hope bottom feels less ouchy soon malt
topsy did you sleep in the garden ? Grin naked ?

OP posts:
malteserzz · 20/07/2013 08:35

Morning all
Trice you sound happier recently, hope you are Smile
Nj have a great time !
Topsy did you sleep outside ? I slept well last night, alcohol and half sleeping tablet did the trick for me!
Mas it's not too bad thanks as long as I get in a comfy position

I'm shopping with dd today mainly to get her new uniform while I still feel up to it, sure primark and costa will bd involved too though Grin hope everyone has a good day x

topsyturner · 20/07/2013 12:43

Afternoon All

Am freshly showered , lets see how long I go till I need another one !

Off out shortly .
Car is having 2 new tyres fitted .
Then it's off to the garden centre to buy Granny a birthday pressie .
We are getting her a new fig tree .
Something nasty in the garden ate her last one !
She's 82 today , and still gardening her huge garden herself .
I only hope that if I get to her age , I'm half as fit (and half as lovely a mother in law as she is ! even if she is a bit tight with the wine at Sunday lunch )

It was musical rooms last night , Chez Topsy .
Found DS asleep on the sofa when I got up , was too hot in his room last night .

Mas hope you have a fab holiday .
Will you have Internet ?
Don't forget to take your fan with you !

Copt did the oldies behave ?
did you out-misbehave them ?

Gigs how are you feeling today ?
Any ease yet ?

Trice you do sound happy .
Is it having the family back ?

Malt enjoy the shopping today .
Plenty of stops for refreshments !

Much love to you all , kk , Smee , Jane , amber , and all I haven't mentioned .

And welcome to our new poster .
Sorry I can't be of much help .
I've had mastectomy , but not rebuild . I want to have rebuild though as I still have boob on other side .
But if I'd had a double mx , I might think differently .

The mx itself is a fairly straight forward op , and recovery is (usually) pretty straight forward .
I know friends who have had recon have had a much harder time than I did .

Anyhoooo , enough waffling . This post is getting immense .

I'm calling in to tesco for Greek yoghurt and fresh berries , if anyone wants anything ???

topsyturner · 20/07/2013 12:45

Sorry , should have said , all that mx info was for byebye !

topsyturner · 20/07/2013 12:53

Just remembered who I wanted to check on !
Emin are you ok ?
Have been worrying about you after your last post .

smee · 20/07/2013 13:11

BBB, my surgeon didn't really put any pressure on me. Obviously my head was all over the place as had just had the cancer diagnosis, but she said why not try an implant, as they're easy to put in, so easy to take out. It would give some shape, so might make the mastectomy less of a shock for both me and for my then 5 year old. Also she said the implant would stretch the skin, which helped with Radiation. That was what swung it for me in the end. It is nice to have some shape. Makes clothes a lot less of a faff. Due to preventative mx, I know (3 years from diagnosis) have two v.pert nippleless breasts. Covered in scars, but I no longer need to wear a bra. All quite amusing in a 40 something.. Do ask anything you want if you're thinking of going that way. Smile

smee · 20/07/2013 13:33

Sorry, waving for all. Bit of a madly busy day and have promised to get DS to his friend's for 2pm. Will pop by later. Smile

malteserzz · 20/07/2013 15:47

It's much cooler here today, the sun hasn't really been out at all. Is it still hot everywhere else ?
Been shopping, bought dds uniform and a few other bits. Have got a thermometer for chemo, and most excitingly an m and s 21st birthday for peppa pig carrier bag !

BetsyBoop · 20/07/2013 15:48

just a quick update so you know I've not dropped off the edge of the world, chemo on Thu totally wiped me out, not helped by this heat I'm sure. Starting to come out the other side now hopefully.

sorry I've not read back, hugs to anyone needing one and lots of cold drinks for the trolley.

malteserzz · 20/07/2013 17:42

Betsy hope you're over the worst now Smile
I meant Percy pig not peppa ! Not even had a drink yet !

Gigondas · 20/07/2013 18:35

Poor you betsy - I was going out to concert tonight but feel too sick. I think one of my painkillers is giving me side effects so am staying here to sympathise with betsy and anyone else with chemo side effects.

Pain seems to be stable and trying to move more to help it but will have to take less painkillers tomorrow or be sick.

Lilymaid · 20/07/2013 19:09

Betsy - I had ny 2nd chemo on Thursday. It's not been too bad so far apart from the metal mouth. Fortunately it has been a lot cooler here today which makes life more tolerable. Hope you feel better over the next few days.
I've got a wig fitting session on Monday (with reserve appointment for Thursday if I'm not feeling up to it). Hair is still reasonable and am only giving it one comb through each day so much may be loose thatch.

trice · 20/07/2013 22:35

The race for life in our area will be starting at my back gate tomorrow morning. My entire family (daughter, four nieces, mum, sister, two sister in laws, mother in law, aunty, assorted friends and the dog) are running /walking it dressed as raccoons (I have no idea why the raccoons thing, they are mad) they have raised over £6k for cancer research between them. I am very proud.

If they write anything about me on the maudlin tshirts thingy I will stab them collectively in the eye.

I am quite chipper at the moment. I feeling better and working on denial. Got a scan coming up in two weeks but as I am feeling so much more human it has to show improvement. I will be quaking in my boots by then though obviously.

Lots of empathy for lily and Betsy. It's an endurance test this chemo thing. Just keep swimming.

trice · 20/07/2013 22:46

Gig, have you done hydrotherapy with your back pain? Do they have a pool near you? Dh did a few sessions when he was in a lot of pain and found it soothing. It obviously wouldn't be a good idea if you are feeling sick already or if the travelling causes more pain than is eased.

Sorry you had to miss a concert. I missed my folk Festival a couple of weeks ago and my friends helpfully told me it was the best in years. I was gutted. Stupid disease.

Gigondas · 20/07/2013 22:50

I will sharpen knife for you if they do that trice Wink.

Hydrotherapy is a great idea but til my leg wound heals am banned from bath/pool. But one for later. It's my legs that hurt as absolute agony when I move after sit/lie for any time. Will see how it goes without the drug I think is causing problems.

Yes shame about concert but watched my old favourite montalbano so not all bad.

topsyturner · 20/07/2013 23:08

When is your ct Gigs ?
I got a letter through today , telling me I have ct on 31st July .
This is the one that will tell me if node enlargement from last time was just some random infection or reoccurrence .
Deep joy ...

Trice I will have my best pointy stick on standby for tomorrow .
If they come near you with any pink sparkly shit , I'll have their eyes out Grin

jchocchip · 20/07/2013 23:39

Hoping for speedy racoons and the bare minimum of pink sparkly shit tomorrow trice. I see topsy and gigs have sharp things on standby for you :)
Its a bugger about wound healing gig - I expect you have a specialist deciding on dressings etc.

Best wishes to grannytopsy I expect doing the garden herself keeps her fit.
Hugs to those doing chemo in this heat. Has cooled down a bit here today so that should help a good night sleep
Did park run walk today. Gp told me not to run, and my foot hurts but next week is my 50th and I've promised just to walk that one and then get my foot sorted before trying to run again :( Have foot ultrasound on 31st and hope the gp will dx then and start treatment...

malteserzz · 20/07/2013 23:52

Raccoons is a bit random ! Hope it goes well
Off to bed night all, will be nice to sleep without big windows open our room is in the loft and gets v hot

MaryAnnSingleton · 21/07/2013 09:08
