kitkat at the moment I'm not going to get a wig (but reserve the right to change my mind!) When I've worn them before (back in my Am Dram youth) I always found them hot and irritating. I've bought a few scarves and buffs and I'll see how it goes. I've also got a fringe on a headband if I want to look a bit more "normal" - I've tried it and it does soften the look of a scarf without the irritating wig issue.

BetsyBoop · 12/07/2013 20:59

my skin has become even more sun sensitive too (I'm the sort of person that burns in 10 minutes normally!) so I'm defiitely ensuring I cream/cover up.

kitkat1967 · 12/07/2013 21:29

Betsy - my son wanted me to do bandanas and scarfs as he considered that to be a more funky look but DD who is older was mortified at the thought!!

topsyturner · 12/07/2013 22:55

I'm not on chemo right now , but I'm considering shaving my head again because its so damn hot !
(Moan moan whine whinge , remind me of this when I'm whining about rain in Belfast again !)

jchocchip · 13/07/2013 07:11

Morning! Its still rather warm. Belfast made the news last night topsy a bit of rain could have cooled things down.

Going to walk parkrun then drive to Mums. Wish the aircon worked better...

malteserzz · 13/07/2013 07:51

Mas excellent news!
Lily good to have a weekend to look forward to Smile
Betsy well done for the shave at least it's done now, I'm very worried about that part of chemo

In nice hotel breaking journey down to the new forest, ds and I awake others still asleep. Looking forward to nice brekkie, a swim then will travel down Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 13/07/2013 09:18

Hey- how about these for head covering ? www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/customer/pages/fabricstories/handybands
thank you for kind thoughts about my scan results...

kitkat1967 · 13/07/2013 10:22

MAS - they look really useful - the reviews say they keep your head warm so not sure for this current heat wave but I guess in a week we'll be back to our usual UK weather - I may have to purchase Smile.
I'm going to brave washing my hair in a minute - fingers crossed it stays in.

kitkat1967 · 13/07/2013 10:24

Betsy - when the nurse came round yesterday and said I was doing much better on the Emend she did say that there were several more levels of meds if it hadn't of worked so when you get yours next time (given correctly) if you are still suffering there is more stuff out there.

Copthallresident · 13/07/2013 10:30

That looks like a good scarf Mas. Great news about your scan, and those capitulating mets.

I do have a very expensive wig if anyone wants it,hardly worn..... Some poor Chinese person sold their hair to make it as well Sad Seriously, glad to donate it, it has blonde highlights and is cut in a bob.

Great news that you are feeling more active gigs We are going to have to celebrate with a Reuben's pizza. They were queuing down the street last night and the pizzas looked really good. Thin and crispy like in Italy.

EMINi hope you are feeling better this morning, agree that hot weather makes you feel a bit ugh anyway and being anxious on top of that will make it worse. Thinking of you.

Happy sweet sixteens to Old lady dog, hope goondog makes it to that age, he's nine and still as active as a normal puppy, as oppposed to deranged BC puppy. One of his old lady dog friends, another BC, is 19. God knows what rash is, vet is throwing entire medicine cabinet at it, anti biotics , anti histamines and steroids but then they are good at that, DB always comments that would be cheaper to pay a taxi to take him to a northern vet....

Waiting for DH to get back from his Counsellor so he can open his pressies, very hot and bothered shop yesterday and then came back to find someone had squirted cream all over car and left note about my inconsiderate parking, it was perfectly parked! Had people come over and sympathise, then noticed note was on receipt from sandwich place near Big Copts work Hmm

MaryAnnSingleton · 13/07/2013 11:42

I have ordered one of the seasalt scarfy things for holiday to keep sun off head- shouldn't be too hot in it as we'll be on coast of north sea and is always a bit cooller, but really don't want my hair to bleach and have pink scalp ! Oh dear and I also ordered a bag in their sale...

kitkat1967 · 13/07/2013 15:19

seemed like loads of hair came out in the shower and when i combed it but still looks the same on tmy head - trying not to panic as was told about 20% would come out.
I am beginning wonder if I would have been better off embracing the bald look as it would be all out by now!!

topsyturner · 13/07/2013 15:58

Afternoon All

Great to see Belfast showing itself in its finest light on the news again ...

Copt Grin Big Copt is a very naughty girl GrinGrinGrin

Our temp has dropped about 5/6 degrees . Just enough to make it pleasant and bearable today !

Hmm , what can I make for dinner tonight with chicken breasts that everyone will eat ?

topsyturner · 13/07/2013 15:59

Kitkat it always seems like loads when it starts coming out .
But if its not leaving bald patches , try not to worry about it .

malteserzz · 13/07/2013 18:09

Sitting outside with a pimms watching the boats, beautiful. Lovely view of the solent. Been swimming twice today, inside and outside !
Might take a day trip to the isle of wight tomorrow
Hope everyone's ok x

malteserzz · 13/07/2013 18:16

graciesmall09 · 13/07/2013 19:02

Waving to you all from sunny Scotland. Super news on mets MAS.

Enjoy your break MALT.

Will catch up when I get home but good luck to all those with appointments/chemo.

Lots of shortbread and haggis for the trolley :)

Lilymaid · 13/07/2013 20:07

Wish I'd seen those Handybands before I went out and bought two muffs today - would prefer cotton over synthetic. But I may order a couple anyway!
Too hot for me today despite spending as much time as possible in the shops that are air conditioned.

Lilymaid · 13/07/2013 20:08

Aargh not muffs but Buffs - predictive text takes you to areas you really don't want to go to!

topsyturner · 13/07/2013 21:06

Snort !
Muffs GrinGrinGrin

trice · 13/07/2013 21:18

Another lovely day in the sunshine. I have been reading in the hammock.

I watched the giant squid program, fabulous creatures! And the scientists who had been looking for them for 40 years or so we're so happy, I was really pleased for them.

malteserzz · 13/07/2013 22:23

Have a lovely time Gracie
Lol at muffs !
Trice glad you've had a good day, I'm managing to read a book now too for first time in months Smile giant squid sound a bit creepy !

BetsyBoop · 13/07/2013 22:25

Just a quick hello as v tired and heading to bed shortly. We've had a lovely lazy day with friends, kids playing in their enormous garden while we chat in the shade, then a BBQ, bliss ;)

Oh dear I've just looked at that seasalt site a bought a couple of handybands and a scarf and a bag might have fallen into my basket as well oops

It's been pretty quiet on here today, so I hope it means everyone has had a lovely day too.

MaryAnnSingleton · 13/07/2013 22:51
