Chicagomum's/Coveveneer's nephew has had to have emergency surgery this morning...

The one kidney that was working fine developed a blockage and they have had to do surgery to try and save it. Otherwise it will mean he will need dialysis and ultimately a transplant. Poor little mite is just 8 days old. Please all say a little prayer for him over the coming days.

Just spoke to my mother, he has come round from the surgery, they managed to remove the blockage (don't know what exactly it was) but there has been some damage to the kidney. Now it is just a case of waiting and seeing if it will function properly or not. My poor sister hasn't actually been home yet since the birth and I think it is also taking its toll on my neices (3.5 years old). Thanks so much for all your good wishes everyone.
