The one kidney that was working fine developed a blockage and they have had to do surgery to try and save it. Otherwise it will mean he will need dialysis and ultimately a transplant. Poor little mite is just 8 days old. Please all say a little prayer for him over the coming days.

Just got off the phone with my mother. He is recovering well from the surgery and feeding, but very little urine output (he is catheterised so they can measure output and check content etc). It is to early to tell exactly what that means, wether it is taking a while for things to get going or if it isn't functioning, so it is a wait and see situation. Thankyou all so much for your kind words of support and a special thanks to saintof georgia for linking this to the MN prayer thread.

CaptainDippy · 31/05/2006 18:46

Hello! I am glad that he seems to be making some sort of progress and is feeding, positive signs. I hope he continues to improve and the urine output is raised. Poor thing - We are all praying hard over on the MN Christian Prayer Thread!! Smile [[hugs]]

ComeOVeneer · 31/05/2006 19:55

Bumping again for those who were asking earlier.

i've bene thinking about him today- poor little mite...fingers crossed, CM.
Are you ok?

sunchowder · 31/05/2006 20:17

Just saw this, haven't been able to be on Mumsnet much due to horrible project at work. I am sending my warm thoughts for his quick recovery too.

ComeOVeneer · 31/05/2006 20:19

I'm not doing to bad, oops. I feel guilty more than anything (foolish I know) as her dd was born with a hole in her heart (she is fine now) and now this, whereas both of mine are fine, plus I was away enjoying a 3 day trip to Paris with no kids whilst she was going through all of this.

OMG, had missed this - poor little mite and his poor parents Sad - hoping very hard that the kidney does start functioning properly and he won't need dialysis.

CaptainDippy · 01/06/2006 08:42

Don't feel guilty, this is just the way things happen sometimes, you are doing the best thing by supporting your sis and thinking and praying for her - We all are too!! [hugs]

TheLadyVanishes · 01/06/2006 09:08

Sad my thoughts are with you and your family, hope the little fella is ok, saying my prayers for you all
