New thread.

Quick post- kitkat ring Bcn or chemo helpline now as if you are that sick you need more drugs. My advice on chemo is don't suffer side effects for a minute more than you have to.

Malt- cant remember all your questions but my weight was static, cut hair short and dentist before hand.
Copt- enjoy your trip home.

MAs- the boiling water thing-did your onc confuse camping and chemo? Easily done Grin.

Ruby- good that hair loss not going to be too bad at this late stage.

Trice loving the literature choice ESP georgette heyer as reading that myself .
Back bit Easier but dont think I can manage short walk to watch mini gig in her ballet class Sad (that said I have seen it before and it's not swan lake- nanny going to see her ). This pisses me off about my back.

Radio done for today so resting up now.

gigs Is it with Geraldine? I once wet myself laughing at Little Copts ballet show. She had fallen and grazed her knee and was doing the dying swan but it wasn't Swan Lake. It was a disgraceful display of parenting. Geraldine wasn't amused, especially as I wasn't the only one, another mother was crying laughing and that was only at her daughter's efforts to dance Blush

Off now

graciesmall09 · 21/06/2013 12:30

kitkat definitely ask for more drugs. I was violently sick with chemo - had hyperemesis whilst pregnant so I was pre-warned. After being admitted after cycle 2 and rehydrated. I was given a syringe driver which was wonderful. I think topsy had one too.

gigs shame you are missing ballet but at least nanny going. Good that your back a little easier though. Hopefully it will get better each day.

Feeling very saintly this morning. Healthy breakfast and took dog for a long walk. Stupid mutt found the only muddy puddle there was and rolled in it, so he is drying off in the garden after a good hose down - he is not impressed Grin

kitkat1967 · 21/06/2013 12:37

thanks for all the kind words - am picking up now so suspect I was being a bit of a drama queen Blush
Will tell onc as he did say i shouldn't be sick but hoping the worst has passed for this cycle.
Nurse is coming at 1:30 to give me the booster injection so will mention it then.

BetsyBoop · 21/06/2013 14:14

dentist? eek, hadn't thought of that... I last had a check up at the end of March and all was fine, do I really need another check up?

Still no news on a chemo start date.... will ring the BCN on Monday if I've not heard any more...

Hope you are feeling better kitkat

malteserzz · 21/06/2013 14:26

Betsy end of march is not long ago like I say I've not been for years! Hope you get a date soon
Did they tell you to get a flu jab that was mentioned in one of the leaflets I was reading
Just wrote a long message and lost it but Kitkat sorry you're feeling sicky hope they can sort it
Gigs shame about the ballet
Ruby the cakes sound gorgeous

Thanks to everyone for their advice so I need haircut and dentist
Had my mum and best friend round this morning neither of whom have any experience with cancer and think they think I've had it though they're trying not to show it. On the other hand had much more positive messages from friends who have experience of friends or family members with cancer Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 21/06/2013 15:13

poor kitkat -sorry that your are feeling so sick. And sorry about missing ballet gig - do you mean Big or mini ?
Had a good talk to my onc and cleared my mind a bit- he is very honest and doesn't faff around.
I asked about how I could have mets after having such a good prognosis originally (something that has increasingly troubled me) - no nodes,a 2.4 cm grade 2 tumour- and he explained that everyone's cancer is different and the outcome depends on loads of individual things like genetics, your immune system, age etc etc..even breast cancers are all very different and soon treatment will be advanced enough to pin point all the individual factors involved. Mets were spread in my blood, which I'd figured but needed to hear it. He said that there should be no nasty surprises with my scan as it'll show that a)the mets are still shrinking 2)they're stable or 3)they're worse- in which case they'd change my chemo.

The boiled water thing was because apparently we have some bug in the water here..am sure I can exist on bottled water instead which will taste nicer. Dh wanted me to ask but I forgot.

MaryAnnSingleton · 21/06/2013 15:13

ruby hope hair stays put as much as poss. I recommended the Neutrogena to someone today !

trice · 21/06/2013 16:11

If you drink bottled water it has to be fizzy, ordinary bottled water has more bugs than tap. I have a reverse osmosis water filter with a uv treatment system. It makes cracking tea and there are no bugs or hormones in the water.

My mets are in my lymph nodes behind the breast bone Malt, they don't take them all out, just the ones they can get to.

Lilymaid · 21/06/2013 16:14

Oh b***. I now have to apply for full rather than temporary membership of this thread.
Results day today ... confirming the suspicions. In for chemo/surgery/radiotherapy/tamoxifen.
Don't know much else at the moment, but will be seeing onc on Monday.

kitkat1967 · 21/06/2013 16:19

sorry you have to join us Lily - quite a few of us are relatively new at the moment.
you have exactly the same order of treatmant as me and I guess you will know a lot more once you have seen your onc.

Hold in there - it is suprising how quickly you can come to terms with things once everything is explained - hopefully they have already stressed that this will be 'treatable'.

Lilymaid · 21/06/2013 16:24

Thanks kitkat. I see that you've been feeling very sick with the chemo ... hope that gets sorted quickly.

KurriKurri · 21/06/2013 16:30

Hi all, sending good thoughts and love to all those on chemo or just about to start chemo or rads(or any other treatment). Lily - I'm so sorry you have had to join us, - but these ladies are a terrific bunch who I know will support you through all the hard bits Smile

Really just popping in to say I may be absent or fleeting for a while - real life is somewhat shit atm, I don't want to bring it on here, but I also don't feel as if I can be of much use in terms of supporting others until I have sorted out my own problems to whatever extent I can. I wish everyone much love and am always thinking of you all - will pop in when I can - but I feel as if I can't keep up and talk to everyone properly atm.

xx

malteserzz · 21/06/2013 16:31
