Hello!

Three years since our first weight loss thread and we are still here! Just!

Well, I finally did it! I've lost err... 74lbs since May 2011 and now weigh 9 stone 4 and am a size 8-10, as opposed to umm.. 'lots heavier' and a size 16 /18.

I am really wanting to maintain, tone up, drop a couple more lbs and stay like this so any healthy eating /gym chit chat sounds good to me.

Now - where are we all???

Yy, go home Vinny, and take the rest of the week off Grin

I have had 4 slices of toast, 4 plums and a weetabix since Saturday afternoon. I am not in the slightest bit hungry Hmm
I am drinking loads... and have just felt very slightly nauseous when I have tried to bother.

I like calorie counting... similar to the lord ford with exercise to offset treats if I need them.

YankNCock · 24/09/2012 20:37

Weigh in day for me, .6 of a pound despite the wedding and generally being shit last week. Poor MrCock really gaining now and getting depressed over it. We are trying to decide what to do. He'll probably go back to low carb. I hate seeing him like this, he is just so down about it. I really don't think he eats enough to gain as fast as he does, but he reckons he's been checked for thyroid problems and diabetes before and everything was fine. I just don't know how to help him.

The bike thing isn't working. We didn't know enough before buying the 1st secondhand thing we could....don't need a mountain bike, and they're very hard to ride on the road (as not meant for that, duh). I fell off it last night and scraped myself up pretty good. So basically we've wasted £45 we didn't have on a bike, helmet and waterproof trousers for J. Scouring for a road or touring bike now.

Did the school run on foot once, that's the extent of my exercise today. Oh, and the toddler swimming, but that's just paddling about so doesn't really count.

ShIne0ncrazydiamond · 25/09/2012 00:09

what is he eating Yank? There is no bigger liar than a dieter as the saying goes - is he really not eating much or is he eating stuff that you're not aware of? As in, eating in the car..it almost 'doesn't count ' iyswim? It sounds SO simplistic but he needs to get back that control over his eating and just.. do it. Only he can. It would be such a waste to have done all that hard work and then fall now. Another saying ..... ' Fall down seven times, get up eight ... ' That is what mrC must do now

also yank - it's really really important that he follows a re feed plan. if he doesnt, all the weight will go back on. tell him he is very welcome to pm me via fb or add me... ive just done the cd and have continued to lose weight now that im eating again so may have a few pointers
. no pressure..just if he thinks it might be useful

I know all about the 'food that doesn't count' - eg anything eaten at 3am or children's leftovers or when you have pmt..
Have realised have bit of a bug (even the baby is coughing, poor soul) which may be why my Davina has fallen by the wayside.
Is it windy where you all are? Howling here.

VinegarTits · 25/09/2012 10:38

i wish you were my boss Frankie Grin(water situation was sorted out pronto yesterday, pah)

i know all about the 'food that doesnt count' too, i call it 'eating behind my own back' (as we all know) and i ate 6 cocktails sausages behind my own back this morning while getting ready for work Hmm

Lizzylou · 25/09/2012 11:23

Have lost 4lbs this week (good given boozy blowout on party). So 12 lbs off in 2 weeks, am told by my website thing that I have lost 39% of my excess flubber now. 61% to go!!!!!!!
Boo to Iggi not feeling well, MrYank being peed off and Vinny not getting sent home.
It is horrendous here, just wild and rainy and horrid.

VinegarTits · 25/09/2012 11:45

Lizzy is it essential to own a microwave when doing the slimandsave diet?

ShIne0ncrazydiamond · 25/09/2012 12:00

vinny - I'm not Lizzy but yes.. it'd be useful! if you fancy giving it a go just shout me... I have a lot of left over packs.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 25/09/2012 12:05

Vinny, I look like I have eaten ole snake hips Shiney.
But yes, you do need a microwave I'd say.

Another woman in the office has started S&S today after my success. Must stick to it now, the pressure!

Shiney, this re-feed thing, how do you find out about it? Can't see anything on S&S website?

ShIne0ncrazydiamond · 25/09/2012 12:28

There is a plan on the S and S website - or you can email 'Rob' the owner - he apparently is really lovely and helpful.

I did my own re feed. I spent a week or so on 600 calories < including one product > and then gradually increased. And it's been really gradual... I now eat around 1000 - 1100 calories a day on average with gym most days or a walk/run/weights. The ultimate plan is to settle at around 1500 cals a day - but it stands to reason that you'll stack on weight if you go straight from 400 cals to 1500 overnight. I continue to lose weight at around a 1lb a week even now - although [ AND I NEVER THOUGHT ID TYPE THIS ] I don't need to lose any more really.

The biggest thing for me to overcome is my binge mentality. For example, I went to the pub for lunch yesterday and had a cheese sandwich with some fries. The old me would have written off the rest of the day thinking ' oh fuck it, ive had bread, cheese, chips, I might as well eat cakes now ' but the new me thinks ' that was a nice lunch, I ate until I was satisfied, left a bit and I now won't eat anything until I feel hungry again ... ' so that's what I did. I'm still getting used to this though - it's very alien to what I usually do.

How much have you lost so far? how much still to go? I decided to go to the lower end of my BMI because I understand that this is 'healthier.' Apart from the vanity thing , I have done this to give myself the best chance of lowering my risks for diabetes/cancer/heart disease etc.. I know you can never have a guarantee but I am doing all I can to remain healthy

Lizzylou · 25/09/2012 12:48

Blimey Shiney, you are a reformed character!
I have lost 12lbs and have 19lbs to go.
Will assess then if I need to lose more.

I was thinking of longterm doing 5:2 fast thingy, I could stick to that I think. Though I do realise I'd need to work up to even that level of calories after this plan.

Roight, off to get my soup!

VinegarTits · 25/09/2012 12:59

im working up to doing 'something' (i have no idea what yet, jst looking at options)

but it all sounds far too technical, and i know me, i would do vlcd for 2 weeks lose half a stone then go back to eating normal and gain it all back

VinegarTits · 25/09/2012 12:59

and 12lbs is bloody brilliant Lizzy!

ShIne0ncrazydiamond · 25/09/2012 13:03

I considered a fast type thing until I looked into it more.

It's calorie counting by any other name

OP posts:
VinegarTits · 25/09/2012 13:07

ive tried calorie counting, i always cheat or lie to myself

BIWI · 25/09/2012 13:09

Vinny - I'm starting another low carb Bootcamp on Monday, just to add to your options!

BIWI · 25/09/2012 13:10

... will last for 10 weeks

Lizzylou · 25/09/2012 13:12

Vinny, I honestly don't feel deprived or hungry on this, 2 weeks and 12lbs down already. Just motivates you more Smile

Next week I hope to be halfway there.

ShIne0ncrazydiamond · 25/09/2012 13:15

You go into ketosis and the physical hunger stops. The mental hunger on the other hand...

OP posts:
VinegarTits · 25/09/2012 13:18

thank BIWI i might try that, i dont mind low carbing (im a big meat eater Wink)

i might also buy a mircowave

VinegarTits · 25/09/2012 13:21

shiney its the mental hunger that gets me, my brain dis-engages and before i know it im half way through a white magnum before i realise im doing it

the only time ive ever lost weight properly was when i had PND, i need to be depressed to not eat

ShIne0ncrazydiamond · 25/09/2012 13:42

Oh gOD, i love magnums. LOVE THEM

OP posts:
VinegarTits · 25/09/2012 13:50

i buy the mini magnums for the finnster as they are his fav in the hope i will eat less but i always end up eating them two at a timeBlush

MistressIggi · 25/09/2012 15:33

Oh Vinny, I feel your kid -related munchies. I've just finished a mini pack of ds's iced gems (biscuits). It has been a very trying day though! But then I always have some excuse.
12 lbs is amazing Lizzy.
