Afternoon all,

Happy hols to greylady - it will be lovely to see the family.
Gig - its quite nice to have a sister who doesn't treat you with kid gloves, mine makes similar rude comments. (my nice sister that is, I have a less nice sister who makes unpleasant non jokey comments - I ignore her!)

amber - you poor thing - horrible man sounds unhinged, - I hope the police have told him to stay away from your house.

Snoopy- nice to hear from you, I'm glad you are feeling OK, - its very normal to have a few down days though - don't let that stop you posting, you can just come on for a moan or a rant Smile - and don't worry about being able to keep up with news - just dive in and let us know you are OK.

topsy - I didn't have docetaxol - so can't help you there, I did have herceptin though. People vary in their responses to herceptin - some people have basically no s/e's, some have very bad ones (amber will be able to confirm that! - but I hope she doesn't mind me saying that such a bad reaction is uncommon), I was somewhere in the middle, -

the problems I had were constant diarrhoea - so I had to take immodium all the time (but my innards were quite badly effected by the chemo I had so might have been connected to that) I also felt quite dizzy sometimes, and did have a couple of falls (toppling over when putting on my shoes for instance) - so good to be a little bit aware of that possible problem, and be careful. But many people are fine on herceptin and actually feel pretty good on it, so hopefully that will be you Smile - Also i imagine they have explained to you about possible effects on the heart - they will check your heart regularly, and if it is having an effect, they may stop it for a while, then try again in a couple of months - any effects on the heart are temporary.

waving to everyone else - hope all are fine. I had my hair cut this morning very short which feels quite nice as it felt as if it was sort of pulling at my head because my scalp is sensitive. They advised against colouring this time because of the shingles, so I'll wait until next time. I had a John Lewis voucher from Christmas, which I spent in their sale today - I bought a purple Kaftan/tunic thing, some purple dangly ear rings, and big blingy ring with sparkly blue rhinestones - Good taste is my middle name Grin

KurriKurri · 03/07/2012 15:05

My bling-ring has got stuck on my fat finger, I'm going to have to wear it for ever Sad

topsyturner · 03/07/2012 16:08

Ooh kk I do love a bit of bling !
And if it's stuck then oh well , you will just have to coordinate your outfits with it !
Grin

KurriKurri · 03/07/2012 16:10

I managed to get it off by sticking my hand in the fridge Grin - DD is now saying 'Its a bit tight for you, I'd better have it Hmm

I love a bit of bling - I've got worse as I've got older!

graciesmall09 · 03/07/2012 16:36

Love the vision of you standing with your hand in the fridge kurri. Hope you helped yourself to some food when you were there Grin.

Meant to say amber that person sounds completely weird. Hope the police sort things out. Maybe a restraining order may be needed.

Think I have found the dress for the wedding. Will let DH see it tonight and if he likes it, I already have the shoes and bag to go so perfect bargain. If I close my eyes I can even imagine me wearing the dress looking a perfect size 10

topsyturner · 03/07/2012 17:17

Oooh put a link up for the dress Gracie
I luff a bit of clothes porn Grin

KurriKurri · 03/07/2012 17:19

yes please gracie - linky link Grin

Gigondas · 03/07/2012 17:28

Yes links Gracie...

Talking of oddballs amber remember that odd poster we had a few months back who was very pro alternative theories. Well someone was on classified board going on about same book and spamming loads of stories. Another poster pointed it back but see that ad is back less than 24 hours later in another form...

Grin about bling ring Kurri - fast work from your dd too!

My sis has tried the "I am so much worse than you, for me with EDS", just makes me smile, when she tried it with ds, I was significantly less amused Hmm Especially as it is far from true. Did think to myself that if she felt it was a competition I would be glad to hand over the title. In fact the other day, in front of my mum, when we were discussing ds' wheelchair, she said "Well my legs always ache when I walk, don't yours?" To which I pointed out that yes they did, but I was 40 and not 9, so I managed the pain! Some people!

SparkleRainbow · 03/07/2012 18:24

I am struggling tonight, very tired so am thinking that a Wine would be a good pick me up....can I pour anyone a glass?

SparkleRainbow · 03/07/2012 18:25

oo gracie I meant to say am very Envy that you have a wedding to go to, and new shoes and dress....can I live vicariously through you, and see a nice linky link to what you are wearing.

KurriKurri · 03/07/2012 18:34

I'm cooking the meal, DD and DH are out for a while, so yes please sparkle, a Wine would be very welcome. Sisters eh? - mine is frankly deranged - she is the one who is trying to get her hands on all mum's stuff (and my dad's things) - nice sister and I have given up really - no point in all falling out and upsetting mum.

graciesmall09 · 03/07/2012 19:24

Ok hopefully this link will work. I need honest opinions please. Is it suitable for a wedding and is it a bit mumsy? dress Hope that link works.

sparkle quite looking forward to it because I haven't been to a wedding in about 15 years although bit nervous as DH and I won't really know anyone as it is a colleague's wedding. Here's a Wine think I might join you.

KurriKurri · 03/07/2012 19:39

Its lovely gracie - perfect for a wedding and not remotely mumsy - and that is an honest opinion. Love the splash of pink in the pattern. What shoes are you going to wear?

Gigondas · 03/07/2012 19:39

That's not mummsy- it's lovely

I have black peep toe which are stitched in cream and a small black clutch with diamonte fern. I have only worn the shoes once and the bag still has the labels on it so thought I would use those. The shoes are very high though so I will probably be in agony by the end.

graciesmall09 · 03/07/2012 19:43

Just to point out though I do not have a figure remotely like the model - maybe twice her.

Gigondas · 03/07/2012 19:45

Get those gel pad things you can put in the toe Gracie - big help. Am also a big fan of m and a insolia as they have them build in. I like a heel but not on sports day..

Big gig continuing to be Mariah carey challenging ... Is playing divide and rule with nannies and generally being painful. Just cos she can, cos doesn't like attention mini gig gets - I wish I could have a Wine but will have some chocolate...

KurriKurri · 03/07/2012 19:45

They will look lovely with your dress, - ooh I feel quite excited now, - can you sneak me in in your bag? Grin (I promise not to do any old lady dancing)

graciesmall09 · 03/07/2012 20:06

I'll have a glass of champers for you all. kurri not concerned about old lady dancing at all, more concerned about DH's 'bad dad' dancing. Really looking forward to staying at the hotel as it is the same hotel where we had our wedding reception.

Grin at big gig. DD is a bit of a princess which is totally our fault but DS2 loves telling her 'you are not a princess' which usually results in major breakdown. Only 2nd day of school holidays and I am ready for running to the hills. Wonder how early I can get them all to bed? I will have your Wine gigs. I have 2 bars of Bournville if you want it.

LimeJellyforBrains · 03/07/2012 20:26

Ooh Gracie - a coincidence! I have just spotted an ad for Isme, showing 'your dress' and it says "£10 off first orders over £30" and gives a code: 28ZCK. Don't know if this is of any use to you?? I can see the ad on this page.

Dress is absolutely stunning by the way! Good find!

graciesmall09 · 03/07/2012 20:39

lime thanks for that but too late for me as I already have the dress. They sent me a code though for 10% off my next order. I thought Isme was for older women but there website is actually very good.

graciesmall09 · 03/07/2012 20:40

sorry 'their'

LimeJellyforBrains · 03/07/2012 21:05

Well, you'll just have to buy some more then! Grin

graciesmall09 · 03/07/2012 21:06

Note to DH lime insists I buy more dresses Grin
