Mmmmm Brew and chocolate cake, yes please!
Shovels a handful of mini cream eggs on the trolley - have had too many already and feeling bit Envy

Yay for the swimming, hope minined has a great time :)

KurriKurri · 01/07/2012 17:21

meal sounds lovely ned - as does the cake - you have obviously chosen excellent friends Grin Well done for taking little ned swimming - that's a big achievement, feels great when you can start doing 'normal' every day things again. Bet he'll have good fun at his lessons.

I've got some chocolate spread with popping candy for the trolley - which will go rather well with topsy's tiger bread I think (I'm only donating because it is truly a fat boy snack of the first order and I shouldn't eat it really. I've made DD hide it so I can't scoff it all)

DH and I have spent the afternoon taking rubbish to the tip - mostly garden stuff, and some old junk from the garage. WE are on a mission to declutter our lives.

ned your dinner sounds gorgeous- cheese too !
And cake !!
How exciting about the swimming lessons- bless little ned
T's cough a lot better today,phew.

Gigondas · 02/07/2012 10:01

oi topsy leave some for me - had disturbed night as kept rolling onto my dodgy shoulder and waking up.

Also big gig has turned into mariah carey.. i think this is an age thing (we have had some clinginess after I was away in hospital but that seems to have passed) as others have been moaning about their kids of a similar age. But a full on tantrum over breakfast, then demanding nanny 2 gave her a foot massage -what have I given birth to Hmm

doing admin jobs here before friend comes over with her little ones later. What is everyone else up to?

OP posts:
topsyturner · 02/07/2012 11:18

I admire Big Gigs style , foot rubs indeed !

Guess what ?
Bank still not sorted out .
Sigh ...

smee · 02/07/2012 11:24

Have missed so much - can't possibly catch up right now, so just saying hi and wishing you all a wondrous week. Have a pot of coffee on the stove for all who want one. Raining hard here atm. Where's summer?! Hmm

SparkleRainbow · 02/07/2012 12:32

Summer certainly isn't here! I got up at 2.00am to go outside and drop net around trampoline before it took off!!!! Was thinking over the fact that summer was 10 days in March this year Confused

I can not even hope to catch up either. I will pop a fresh Brew on the trolley too, so you can have your choice of tea or coffee. x

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/07/2012 13:09

am working and nipping out to collect a package and post a picture -and if time seeing if my new specs can be tightened slightly- just eating peanut butter on toast...will add some fbs later !

KurriKurri · 02/07/2012 13:43

Afternoon all, banana sandwiches on the trolley (I can add a bit of popping candy choc. spread if you want a very indulgent sarnie)

Big Gig has certainly got it right Grin - I think I shall shout for a foot massage and see if anyone will respond!

Shingles rash has appeared, - most bizarre, it's very sore and I have a thumping headache - fed up of this now. I'm pottering about feeling sorry for myself, - think I will go for a walk soon to pull myself together - and before it starts raining here.

waving to everyone, - does anyone have treatment this week? - gracie are you having your line redone?

topsyturner · 02/07/2012 13:47

Oooh banana sarnies .
What type of bread ?

Gracie is having her picc redone on Monday . I know this as we are booked into the same clinic on the same day !

I have picc line and pre chemo bloods on Monday .
Chemo on Tuesday .
Herceptin on Wednesday .
Think I might be comatose by Thursday .
Grin

topsyturner · 02/07/2012 13:47

And I think you should take some painkillers and go to bed for a few hours kk !

KurriKurri · 02/07/2012 14:04

What kind of bread??? - are you channelling Mariah carey too topsy/ Grin - well I have bagels, wholemeal seedy bread, pitta, muffins, or warburtons sandwich squares. - Take your pick (or I could run out to the shops and get something else if you'd prefer WinkGrin)

You have a busy week by the sound of it, I think Thursday needs to be a duvet day - is it today (or next monday?) for your pre chemo? - good luck for that and to gracie too.

I've taken painkillers and I'm sitting on my bed watching tennis (so basically I have gone to bed!) I might wait till DH gets home for the walk.(so he can give me a piggy back if I get tired Grin)

snoopygirl · 02/07/2012 15:00

Hello ladies

Sorry not posted, I did look a while ago and got overwhelmed with so many posts and gave up as was feeling shitty. What have I missed? kurri have you hurt yourself, I am so out of touch so apologies.

I can 't even remember what stage was at last time I posted. had round 2 of chemo anyway and was wiped out in bed for days. It was definitley tougher round two but it has seemed a long time in between this time. Saying that round 3 is Thurs for me which is last Fec then it's on to dreaded Docetaxol.

I managed to escape my DS's cold but just picked up painful tonsil thing. Sleep better with Tamazepan of which no s/e's. But Nytol kindof worked for me too. So will save Tam for when really need it. Hair still hanging on although thinned massively after round2 but now none in bed just when brush it. I can't see it hanging on for duration though as parting is getting wider. But may get away with headband if I can find one that doesn't slip off.

gig how did chemo go?

how is everyone else? I am managing to stay positive and reallymaking most and appreciating good days where can get out and feel normal (well kinda) but am realising life will never really be the same again. sorry that sounds morose and it's a fact but I truly do feel luckly to be carrying on as normal most of time.Smile

Waves to everyone else.

xx

Gigondas · 02/07/2012 15:18

Hi snoopy - round 1 was ok. Really Tired for few days but ok sickness wise. Round 2 next week and know hair will go in next week or so. Hopefully though round 3 won't be as bad as this one. I have been given a couple of mineral supplements to take that seem to have helped with the sleeplessness as that was definitely quite bad for first week.

Just thought that topsy about to join chemo crew next week with you, gracie and me. ned escaped now.

Gigondas · 02/07/2012 15:19

Agree you should rest up kurri.

Who was it who said they knew someone who kept their picc line ? Can't think of anything more odd.

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/07/2012 15:51

poor kk - rest up and maybe a walk later will be refreshing ?
Waves to snoopy - lots of good thoughts for round 3,and of course for topsy and gig

thegreylady · 02/07/2012 17:53

Off to Turkey tomorrow so will see my ds and dgd for the first time for months :)
I like dd-i-l a lot too.We are going to her sister's wedding which should be fun.I am still finding the acupuncture very beneficial for my general health/energy levels and I recommend it if you need a boost.

Gigondas · 02/07/2012 18:06

Oh have a lovely trip greylady- glad you are another acupuncture fan.

And remember you cannot possibly know anything about turkish names Wink

NedSchneebly · 02/07/2012 18:37

Afternoon all. Have more of chocolate cake for trolley. Please, save me from myself -
Smile

Had first rads today - didn't actually realise it was all done until she told me I could relax and sit up! Hassle was driving to hospital, parking and waiting, all for 5 minutes zapping. Took most of the morning. . . Anyway, 1 done, 19 to go!

DS had great first swimming lesson - didn't drown, at least Grin

kurri I'm so sorry this shingle has been such a bugger for you. Don't worry about feeling sorry for yourself- you're allowed to, you know! Lots of rest and snacks.

snoopy I had a much better time on the Docetaxol than the FEC. Fewer side effects and feeling much less crap. Nearly half way is a great landmark Smile

greylady have a brilliant time in Turkey. You really deserve it. Bet you'll have a great time with DS and family Smile

topsy that sounds like a manic crazy few days! Definitely agree that Thursday should be a sofa day x x

Waves to smee, MAS, sparkle, gig, gracie, jchoc and anyone else around!

snoopygirl · 02/07/2012 18:56

Aah ned that's good to here, in fact I think your the first person I've heard say that about Docetaxal! Hope it's same for me. My rads will also be an hour if not more away at Oxford, pita but spose it'l be like commuting! I'm seeing a mini break at the weekend in Oxford might be nice and cut down some of the driving!

gig can I ask what mineral supplements you took as my sleep was awful and now on Tamezepan. I also took Nytol which has Valerian/Hops and something else in it which I didn't sleep too bad on.

greylady have a lovely holiday.
mas Hi hope your doing well and keeping busy.

I have to say I am so thankful for the piccline as I don't even know it's there now. In fact got in shower with no cover the other day, whoops. I don't think could stand canula every time. Saying that the point where it goes into skin looked a bit red and mucky today so keeping eye on it. doesn't hurt though.

topsyturner · 02/07/2012 19:10

Evening All

Have a fab time in Turkey Grey , and yes please don't come home thinking you know anything about Turkey or their naming system Grin

I hate posting on my phone , I can't scroll back to check who and what I wanted to post about . And my memory is absolutely shocking right now !

Aaaaaaargh ! Mas ! Just remembered I was meant to post that thing to you !!! Will do it tomorrow , I promise !!!!! Blush

topsyturner · 02/07/2012 19:10

topsyturner · 02/07/2012 19:14

Another one glad to hear about the Docetaxol too Ned .
I start mine next Tuesday .
So would appreciate a run down of what to expect whilst on it from anyone who is knowledgable .

You know , all the stuffed they don't tell you on the info sheets .
Didn't someone recently say to wear dark nail varnish as it helps to stop any nail loss ?

amberlight · 02/07/2012 19:30

'evening all. We've had the real live police round this evening, to deal with the tricky situation with the vindictive individual...who was caught outside our house taking piccies of it. pervy or what.
Meantime...docetaxel...I preferred it to the FEC. Hardly any nausea. It was a sod for extreme diarrhoea and incredible stomach cramps for a couple of nights after a few days of taking it, (stock up with anti diarrhoea stuff) and there were muscle aches. But still better than nausea for me. Nails - the dark nail varnish thing is a story with no research, but there's real research on asking for frozen mitts for hands and feet to stop it getting to the nails. That way most people get to keep their nails and not have problems. I did. It worked.
I'm on the Wine cos I'm naffed off. Plenty more for those in need.
