And I'm really really scared.

Is anyone up to hold my hand and tell me it'll be ok?

So glad to hear she's improving, was lovely to check back in and see better news. Of course you will be 'paranoid' about twitching etc, it's natural. Hope things carry on getting better. Best wishes to B!

Mud I hope you have all had a good day - so pleased that your dd smiled!

chipmonkey · 18/06/2012 01:44

Mud my love, you know what? When my brother got meningitis, it was truly touch and go. Afterwards my Dad said that there had been so many "If.... then's"
"If it's viral, then we can't treat it"
"If it's bacterial, then we can treat it but he has a 50% chance of living. If he lives, he has a 50% chance of being brain-damaged"
BUT eventually after being pumped with antibiotics, one day he smiled. And my Dad knew then that he would be OK.
I was one of three girls, then we had a seven year gap and then my brother. I suspected my parents really wanted a son but they never, ever let us know. I think that day my brother smiled meant the world to my Dad as it meant the son he knew was here to stay.
