It is hard, so hard ... I remember it so well. The good news is the cannula is in, so she keeps getting the anti-biotics.
Will they do the blood transfusion where you are now or are they going to do it in Addenbrooke's?
How difficult both for you and your husband that he has just started a new job. Has he told his employer? We were in a similar situation at the time, and the new employer was actually very sympathetic, hope he encounters the same.
I don't know what to say about being awake all night, to me, it felt like that I had to wake over dc, to make sure all the machines were working etc, this was in part due to a very bad experience after birth where a key piece of equipment did not work and we had to literlly drag nurses over to check (and yes it was faulty).
It is hard, really hard, exhausting, the hope and despair, swinging from one to the other and back. For me, the only real good thing is that it is unlikely that your dd will remember any of this when older, you will, no doubt, but she won't.
Hope she starts improving soon. Lots of strength to you, your dh and your dd.
