And I'm really really scared.

Is anyone up to hold my hand and tell me it'll be ok?

Thinking of you and little B. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. xxx

twitchrabbitbouncebounce · 10/06/2012 23:16

Thinking of you, B & your dh.
I hope B's chest gets better, it all sounds so scary for you.

My uncle has had meningitis twice, once as a child & once about ten years ago, in his thirties, he has partial hearing loss from the 2nd time round, but if doesn't affect him much (more his dw as he never hears what she is saying!) He was not expected to pull through and was in icu for 3 weeks so it is amazing what the body can fight.

stay strong and take care of yourself.

Mirage · 10/06/2012 23:17

So sorry about this. I hope she comes through well and quickly.

You must be having a dreadful time. Be kind to yourself.

MrsEdinburgh · 10/06/2012 23:21

Sending my love to your little B & your family.

I know from my own experience that when your DC is very ill & in hospital that it's the most terrifying thing in the world. You feel so useless & out of control as all you can do is wait & be a strong mummy.

Wishing little B speedy recovery xxx

doggiemumma · 10/06/2012 23:22

I hope you don't mind Stopplayingwithhatmud but i have reported your last post to MNHQ and asked them to move it somewhere permanent as I noticed you wanted to keep this.

More prayers for Little B here. Take strength from all of our positive thoughts and look after yourself xx

Thinking of you and little B here too- hope she gets better soon and recovers well. It does sound as though it was caught early and that can only be good. Hope your night is as peaceful as possible and that things are looking up in the morning.

Thinking of you and yours, Mud, and sending much love and strength - B will have a special place in my dreams tonight. I hope she has a peaceful night (as much as possible with the obs) and if you can snooze a little, do let yourself. She's in the best place. Lots of love x

cheaperthantherapy · 10/06/2012 23:36

Thinking of your little B and your family. I'm so sorry you are going through this.

StopEatingThatMud · 10/06/2012 23:42

I so hate that dp isn't allowed to stay, I'm a big old teary mess and really just need a hug right now.

Her potassium levels are low, and have dropped during the day despite being given IV fluids with potassium in. Because potassium controls electrical currents within the body and her heart rate has dropped quote low she's now on cardiac monitoring. If it gets worse she'll go into the high dependency unit for a potassium infusion.

Sorry I don't even know if what I'm writing really makes sense I just need to get it all out somehow...

Hope your little one gets better very soon. Nothing is scarier and more disorienting than when one's baby is really ill, so wishing you a lot of strength. Hope she is over the hump and will recover very quickly.

hellymelly · 10/06/2012 23:45

Oh your poor little baby, she's going through a lot. It must be very hard for you not having your dp, why isn't he allowed to stay? I don't know anything about potassium levels, do they know why they might be low ?

kohl · 10/06/2012 23:46

Thinking of you and B tonight, can't imagine what you're going through, stay strong.X

dwpanxt · 10/06/2012 23:47

I cant believe that a 1 year olds daddy isnt allowed to stay with her in hospital Angry

But this is not the time nor the place for anger at adherence to unfathomable rules. That can be addressed later when she is well .

I will keep you all in my thoughts through this long night.

redwhiteandblueeyedsusan · 10/06/2012 23:50

oh poor you and poor B. prayers for a swift recovery.
