Hiya Grin

I'm Bella...

Have about 7lb's to lose before my BiG APPLE trip which is ooooh only a few days to go.

Have had quite a good day food wise, apart from the choc hob nob and glass of wine. No gym today as I am doing extra hours at work invigilating.

How the feck is everyone?

Yank, I found it easier to cut out carbs by saying "ok, dinner is bolognese/roast/sausages etc, what veg should I have, how should I cook it" rather than "oh, can't have potatoes, so that is out, no pasta, so can't have that etc" means that I have sausages or roast with loads of amazing veg - buttered slow roasted and mashed butternut squash, garlic courgettes, slow roasted peppers/courgette/tomatoes/carrots. I would spend the day really looking forward to meals rather than feeling miserable for dieting.

Dinner tonight was bolognese from the freezer (slow cooked batch with bacon, lean mince, orange pepper, courgette, mushrooms, carrots, celery, onion, garlic and tinned plum tomatoes) with some cauliflower instead of pasta and a little cheese.

Going to watch a film this evening and try to avoid eating any more sweet things!

MrsNouveauRichards · 31/05/2012 19:59

With DS one thing that changes his whole personality is being allowed to free range as much as possible - preferably outside. Never has a major tantrum outside. Obviously he is not Mogli though and does have to be inside for a lot of things, although.....

Lizzylou · 31/05/2012 20:04

With low carb I found I just had to think of the cheese.
I can only do 3 weeks max of it though and then my insides just scream for starch. I felt v unwell last attempt.

MrsN, DS1 is the same, he just has to be exercised. DS2 is just an enigma to me. He is trouble at school again. Am having his hearing tested tomorrow to find out if his ignoring of his parents and teachers is due to medical reasons. Am sure it's just down to stubbornness though.

Yank, sorry but Grin at DS riding the dog.

MrsNouveauRichards · 31/05/2012 20:13

I was ok with cheese as not a big cheese eater.

I have found that lower carb works for me, but full low carb leaves me a bit constipated (sorry tmi) having porridge and fruit makes a huge difference!

MittzressOfMittzchief · 31/05/2012 20:43

I want to reassure you all that it gets easier........................................................................................................................................ But HmmConfused DS put his hand through a plate of glass in temper on Sunday and we spent 1 1/2 hrs in casualty having glass picked from his wounds so I'd be lying!!
On the other hand, he does seemed to have abandoned his career in crime! (always a silver lining in my life dontcha know!)

Have been moderately good again today.
I exercise well (1/ 1/2 hrs walking 1 of it very brisk)
Drink plenty of water, but energy levels drop badly and I don't find fruit etc really boosts it.
But the Danish Pastry I just ate did the trick!!

MrsNouveauRichards · 31/05/2012 20:58

Oh no Mittz! Is he ok?

MittzressOfMittzchief · 31/05/2012 21:06

Very, very lucky MrsNR., thank you Smile
He had been doing really well. And whilst it is wearing and worrying , I am so much more adept at coping with crisis these days,... I am sure it must be a marketable skill!!

MrsNouveauRichards · 31/05/2012 21:16

Glad he is ok. F has another beautiful bruise on his head due to temper (headbutted the kitchen floor)

If you can tell me how you stay calm I will make you as much cake as you can eat!

BitchyInTheCorner · 31/05/2012 21:46

Jaq i can send you the original fan fic version. It's in a pdf file. basically the same but she had to change the names to publish. Save you paying good money for it Grin via fb ok for you?

Mittzy - ouch, glad to hear ds has settled though. hopefully it is a case of he will only do it once wrt the plate glass?

BitchyInTheCorner · 31/05/2012 21:55

Jaq yhFBm!

I have a pile of forms for CRB to do. I wouldn't mind but you still have to have a crb per institution/employer which means I have to fill the form out 5 times atm, with exactly the same information. ConfusedHmm

Next stop to research the joys that are first aid quals. (oh yay) Hmm

I am taking ds to Doncaster tomo, as I need to go to sheffield.

Lizzylou · 31/05/2012 21:56

OUCH! Mittz! Hope DS is OK now?
How is he at the moment?
I am not sure if I have mentioned before but I have 3 brothers Wink and 2 of 3 have massively struggled with anger issues at times.
I fondly remember the little me punching pillows and trying to get my frustrations out. Going by the house I was in, that was pre-10 yrs old.

It's tough, growing up.

MittzressOfMittzchief · 31/05/2012 22:14

It's the 7th piece of glass Sad but I think a sharp learning curve this time as they said one cut could have resulted in him losing use of fingers if it had gone deeper.

He is so much better Lizzy. I know what is wrong, so am dealing with his feelings, and issues, and the fact that it is NOT ON to express them in that way.

Lizzylou · 31/05/2012 22:35

Good for you sylph like Mittz

I so thought that potty training was the worst in terms of child rearing...

Uh oh

What is everyone doing for the Jubilee/extra hols? Apart from shagging in NY Bella..

MrsNouveauRichards · 01/06/2012 06:47

We are planning on going to a jubilee picnic with music in our town - as the whole of FB is aware! :o

I treated myself to a tin of of m&s jubilee shortbread in a pretty tin (i wanted the tin) but Oh My God, the shortbread is amazing!

MyCatIsAStupidBastard · 01/06/2012 07:36

Good morning one and all.

Mittz, OUCH. Hopefully though lesson learnt for DS.

Went to London yesterday which didn't involve good eating, but did involve running like buggery down the platform at Paddington to catch the train! I was a nice shade of puce when I eventually sat down.

Today so far has been pain au chocolat.

Out for lunch today but will just have salad.

Hope you all have a lovely day today.
x

jaquelinehyde · 01/06/2012 09:39

Morning, morning, morning

Bloody Hell Mittz Shock hopefully that has given him the shock he needs! Glad he is ok though.

MrsNR shortbread Envy Smile enjoy your picnic, we were going to go to a jubilee street party tomorrow but obviously DD is plauged so we won't. DH has declared a BBQ this weekend but I think the weather may have other ideas!

Bella how excited are you right now! Grin Grin

Melon and tea for breakfast again but I'm out of melon now so God knows what I will have for breakfast tomorrow.

BellaVita · 01/06/2012 09:57

Well looking at the bloody weather Jaq - My excitedness is dimishing by the frigging second Angry.

MrB tells me that Tiffany's is at the other side of NY and we may not have time to go Hmm

Blimey Mittz, hope DS is ok.

Lizzy, what is shagging? nope cannot remember... Grin

Shortbread is DH's fave biscuit MrsNR along with fig rolls.

Had a lovely night out last night, but I am getting more worried about my lovely friend who I work with. We both started at the same time, she works for the Imclusion/Child Protection Team. She is very slim anyway, but has in recent months lost more weight, to the point where you think she could be borderline annorexic - she said last night she had weighed herself and she is now just over 7st (she is about 5ft 5"). I know she has a lot in her mind (told her DP that she wants to separate) and she is now having counselling for anxiety issues.

Morning all

ThatVikRinA22 · 01/06/2012 11:17

and morning from here too!

mittz - how old is your DS? sounds difficult to cope with - i have a 20 yr old with AS who is prone to doing daft things but he doesnt tend to get angry - he just nicks money from my bank account so thats ok...not! im counting the pennies this month due to his latest light fingered exploits....and we should have been going on holiday Saturday too but he spent the money.

so, im off work but loitering at home. must resist pigging out now.....

all ive had today is corn flakes as ive not been up that long - didnt go to bed until the small hours as worked late last night.

Bella - whats the weather doing in NY?

i am toying with going for a run, but i may just stick a fitness DVD on instead....

BellaVita · 01/06/2012 11:20

Cloud, rain, thunder. DH said t doesn't matter, and I know that it doesn't really, but nice weather makes it easier to walk around and chose which clothes I am going to wear. At this rate, I am going to have to re do my case.

OP posts:
ThatVikRinA22 · 01/06/2012 11:22

awwww bella - hope it changes for you, but im sure whatever the weather it will be a fantastic experience. ill keep my fingers crossed for the sun.

BellaVita · 01/06/2012 11:27

main moan bloody autocorrect.

Sorry about your holiday Vicar Sad

OP posts:
ThatVikRinA22 · 01/06/2012 11:32

cheers Bella - cant be helped. we were only going in the UK as we take the dog with us, but he cleaned me out. This month i am already £500 up which shows how much he was taking.

i sleep with my bank card now and check the bank much more.

ive started a savings account and i'll get a bonus in Dec so perhaps, just maybe, we may get away next year.

i cant put the dog in kennels though - she is too old and to soppy! she pines.

Lizzylou · 01/06/2012 11:40

Oh Vicar that is sad about your holiday.

Bella, it will be fabulous, fear not.

DS2 has perfect hearing, so he has just been ignoring us all Grin

Sat at work in a tiara and union jack earrings.

BellaVita · 01/06/2012 11:43
