Special hugs to kk
And how wonderful that Christophers flowers have bloomed now Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/06/2012 14:30

a hug too from me kk - sibling grief, as I have learned is very complex and misunderstood (I have a very interesting book about it) - I love it that his flowers are coming out - lots of love to you.
snoopy - you are allowed to to feel down and am sorry that you are - bloody weather doesn't help.
Didn't know that about antibiotics - apparently I am meant to have them handy because of having no spleen am supposedly prone to severe infections - however I have managed so far.

Elibean · 12/06/2012 14:52

May I pop in a hug for Kurri please? What a lovely image, the blue Christopherii Smile

dh's db died (aged 43) very nearly 20 years ago. You are right, sibling loss is unique, and huge. Lots of Flowers from me xx

LimeJellyforBrains · 12/06/2012 14:58

Daft woman here too then, that is so touching KK x Sad Big warm gentle hugs. Lovely idea about the flowers.

Bloody weather. DS2's birthday party this Sat was supposed to be running about shouting games in local woods then birthday tea back at the house. May need a Plan B involving a DVD Hmm. In fact, I remember well his birthday party last year - cinema - it was pouring with rain then too! You would have thought having a birthday in mid June meant you could safely plan an outdoor party, wouldn't you?

Sparkle - DS2 is also due to do a 2 night activity camp with school in a couple of weeks. Altho he will be 9 on Sat I'm not sure he's quite as ready as DS1 was. Funny how different they all are!

topsyturner · 12/06/2012 15:02

Sparkle DD (aged 9) is going away to her friends holiday home at the seaside at the end of this month .
She will have a ball .
DH and I will probably spend the weekend pining for her and fretting ...

KurriKurri · 12/06/2012 15:42

Thank you all, and hugs to all who have lost siblings - and to Elibean for popping in - how kind you are Smile

MAS - could I ask you to PM me the title of that book?, it sounds interesting. And special hugs for you, I hope I didn't upset you talking about my brother Sad

Lime - I hope DS2 gets some sun for his birthday, could the children all come armed with cagoules and run about outside regardless? I honestly think summer is now basically August and September if we are lucky. Its probably rose titnet spectacles, but I'm sure the summers of my youth started in May and lasted for months Grin

topsy you won't know what to do with yourselves when your DD is away - but I bet she'll have a great time, nothing beats the seaside for fun Smile

smee · 12/06/2012 16:01

Ah Kurri, that's a memory to hold. I'd bet you can imagine the smell even. Sad

Lime, bugger about the weather. Maybe Kurri's idea about cagoule's is a good one. Insane rain play, then a DVD. We were so lucky with DS's - if anything it was too hot. Seems rather unbelievable now.

KurriKurri · 12/06/2012 16:04

Smee you are right, I can, - a nice jumpery Dad smell Smile

Just realised I wrote titnet in last post instead of tinted

smee · 12/06/2012 16:08
Grin
SparkleRainbow · 12/06/2012 17:04

Hugs for Kurri, and candle lit for Christopher.

I have to organise dd1's birthday party soon, in early July....do you think we will have summer by then?

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/06/2012 17:06

kk have pmmed you !

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 12/06/2012 17:15

thank you MAS Smile xx

I wouldn't count on it Sparkle Grin - better stock up on sunshades that double as umbrellas, just in case! How old will your little girl be?

Figgyroll · 12/06/2012 17:32

KK, a huge hug for you.

Lime, even if it stays dry till the weekend, the woods will be a quagmire. I'm sure you will come up with an alternative.

Sparkle, hopefully the sun should be out by early July. I'm banking on it.

I didn't know about the antibees for abroad either but I think it makes sense for those of us who have had nodes removed and are at risk of infection.

I am in a bit of a nervous state this afternoon - a dear friend found a lump, had biopsy and is at the doctors for the results as I type. I am praying it's nothing to worry about. I wont be able to settle until I know.

KurriKurri · 12/06/2012 17:37

Fingers crossed for your friend Figgy, - I hope she gets good news x

thank you for hug Smile

topsyturner · 12/06/2012 17:42

Positive vibes to your friend Figgy x

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/06/2012 18:21

Figgyroll · 12/06/2012 19:13

No news yet. I Hope she's out celebrating. I can't settle to anything till I hear from her. Thank you for all your positive vibes.

snoopygirl · 12/06/2012 19:24

kurri Sending a hug over to you. Lovely idea about the flowers and that they have bloomed for you.
Hey we are Zopiclone buddies! Dr sorted it for me today but not on repeat, i spose as the are addictive? Sod it I just need to sleep.
It' getting so busy at school what with dressing up days and fete's etc where kids involved, (DS is a dancing spider!) I need to focus or attempt to.
x

Figgyroll · 12/06/2012 19:26

Sad My friend has bc. I am feeling so sad for her. She is seeing the surgeon later on this week. I am in shock.

amberlight · 12/06/2012 19:43

Figgy, heck...((((hugs)))) Hope your friend can visit us here and join in with the support,...

KurriKurri · 12/06/2012 19:43

Oh Figgy - I'm so sorry, it is a shock, poor woman Sad - It will help that she has a good friend like you who has been there, and can support her.

Snoopy, - thank you Smile - I'm glad the GP sorted something for you, - zopiclone worked fairly well for me, I didn't find it addictive and I took it for quite a while (You just need to cut down gradually when you stop no suddenly stop) and it get you a good nights sleep which makes the world of difference, - its hard to deal with everything when you are exhausted.

Dancing spider sounds hilarious Grin

graciesmall09 · 12/06/2012 19:57

Aw figgy thinking of your friend and you. Poor woman.

Hugs to you kurri re your brother. Perfect timing for Christopher's flowers.

Good luck to snoopy for this Thursday and hopefully you will get some sleep. Some nights I sleep well and others rubbish. Hate when I can't sleep.

Well after texting my boss to apologise for not going in until this afternoon (to which he never bothered replying) I had to then phone in and say sorry i can't come in at all today. My stupid picc line was playing up and I ended up spending the afternoon at the local cancer centre (which was standing room only it was so packed) to get x-rayed. Seemingly my picc has moved and kinked inside by about 3 cm but they ended up injecting with something and I had to wait for another hour and thankfully they got venous return so ok for another week. Oh and nurse was surprised my bloods weren't done after last week's tonsillitis, they had forgotten about me. So much for private care. don't think my boss is very happy that I'm so unreliable at the moment Sad

Sorry I have missed so much today but thinking of you all.

smee · 12/06/2012 20:15

Figgy, oh no. Poor you and even more poor her. Hope they've got it as early as possible so that the treatment's minimal. Does she live close to you at all? Sad

Gracie, that's a pain - will they have to move it back at some point?

Snoopy, glad to hear the GP sorted you. Once you're through Thursday, that's another one ticked off. All heading in the right direction. Smile

DS chortling away reading a joke book out loud in bed. This one just made me giggle. not at all sure why..
Q: How long should a Giraffe's legs be?
A: Long enough to touch the ground.

Gigondas · 12/06/2012 20:18

figgy sorry for your friend and also for you.

gracie sorry you are having issues -agree that sometimes private care not all that. Also had problems with aftercare when I had my op.

Am sure your boss will understand (and cancer is akin to disability so cannot discriminate ) but it's more the frustration of illness getting in the way of your "normal life".

Stinky French cheese for fbs snack tray here .

Gigondas · 12/06/2012 20:19

Oh and sometimes am Hmm and Angry about that poster- clearly has ishoos
