Slow down, everyone, wait for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
So much to catch up on, and my typing is operating a little bit behind my chemo brain today!
Welcome onestep (love the name btw - its a good mantra to live by with this shitty disease) Sorry you have to be here, but we are a very cool bunch to hang out with, I think, and ride the rocky road together. I was only diagnosed in early January, had surgery for ductal carcinoma 2 weeks later, and am currently in the throes of cycle 2 of chemotherapy. I have 4 more to go, then 4 weeks of rads then tamoxifen. Its v scary and all too much to take in at once. Take it easy and come here to rant, cry, swear, shout, eat virtual snacks and ask any questions you like.
My DS is 4, and I have tried to be honest but simple with him. I told him I had nasty bugs in my booby that the doctor had to take away, and that I would have to have a sleep over the hospital. (I had a lumpectomy) then I told him that I would have to have to nasty medicine to make sure all the nasty bugs were definitely gone, and it would make me feel sick and tired, and how funny! would make my hair fall out! So far he's been fine, touch wood. He wanted to wear a headscarf the first morning I decided I had lost enough hair to need one!
topsy weekend away sounds fun, and your weekend plans too - hope rugby not too traumatic?!
angryfeet YAY for all clear - awesome! You must be so relieved!
JChoc sounds like you had a positive meeting with your surgeon - so pleased for you!
Sparkle Sounds like DSs hospital appointment was positive. Definitely good if you can get some help with the pain for him.
sometimes MORE work?! Well done you! You must be super chuffed that your genius is being recognised far and wide. . .
kurri excellent to hear those tablets are making you feel a bit better, even after just a couple of days - so pleased for you. You've had to wait far too long to get this sorted.
Smee exciting news about matching boobs op planned! Sounds very positive.
I saw lovely practice nurse yesterday morning. Had a lovely chat with her. She had chemo too, for lymphoma, so it was nice to talk to someone who knew what it was like. Might possibly have had a big soggy little cry.
Seeing Dr Lovely on Tuesday to get more ADs and extend sick note for work.
Saw oncology nurse too - she was a bit more matter of fact, and medical, if that makes sense. she gave me some movicol to keep everything moving, as she said it was better and more gentle than lactulose. Will wait to see. . .!
Mahoosive post - will leave off now, but feel better for having caught up a bit.Sorry if I have missed any other mega news!
