here we are- how did that happen ?

Sometimesiwonder · 30/03/2012 11:05

Ooh, weird. I have one that is a bit similar: where I am living in a house but there is a large bit of it that I have never got to grips with, and seems to be full of the previous owners' stuff that I need to sort and get rid of so we can start to use that bit too. Is it an OCD dream, then? Cripes! I thought sleep was supposed to be refreshing, but I find it utterly exhausting - sometimes I can't wait to get up and start the day!

Big sympathies, then, MAS. maybe the solution is to go to bed steaming drunk, I imagine that'd sort it

Sometimesiwonder · 30/03/2012 11:06

Don't hurt bumble!!!!! Open window, retire from room and shut door....

smee · 30/03/2012 11:11

I like big bumbles, though the cat crunches them. Shock

Dreams sound exhausting for you MAS and for Sometimes. Mine are usually way too surreal to be taken seriously. Lucky in lots of ways!

Sometimes I'm sure praise was heaped on you about your DD at Parents' Evening too. Have a proud boast, go on.. Smile

I have arranged for a friend and her teenage daughter to stay here while we're away and have to clean the house from top to bottom, as her house is spotless. Heck...

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/03/2012 11:12

yes don't hurt the bumble - can you encourage it to get off the t brush ?

sometimes that's an anxiety dream I'd say - so tiring. I get too hyped up if I get drunk and it makes me even more anxious in the morning !

Apparently it's National Cleavage Day,sponsored by Wonderbra - am not sure what I think about that.

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 30/03/2012 11:13

smee oh that's nice-having house looked after -was wondering about Ninja.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 30/03/2012 11:13

It will move in time (there is one in the mini gigs bedroom that am leaving to do its own thing).

Would agree that drink (ESP rum) doesn't help dreams .

topsyturner · 30/03/2012 11:23

Oh no , would never hurt a bumble !
Now wasps on the other hand ...

Have opened window , closed door , and reminded bumble not to forget to floss Grin

Sometimesiwonder · 30/03/2012 11:23

No you are all right, alcohol and tamoxifen don't mix well with me generally.

Anxiety dream sounds about right, I wonder what I'm anxious about? My lack of sleep, probably Confused

Smee - heck, don't clean up, it'll give 'em something to do while you're gone!

Thank you for the invitation to boast about dd - it was a nice parents' evening. They said she is motoring ahead and she is their 'little star'. Aw, bless. I shall enjoy it while it lasts, because I guess she is genetically programmed to turn into a bolshy moo, like her mother Wink

smee · 30/03/2012 11:39

Smile for little Sometimes. Of course she is a star. Goes without saying, though always nice to hear.

MAS, Ninja makes an excellent host - v.affectionate and performs for any and all guests doing a bonkers cat routine, chasing hazelnuts round the floor.

Sometimes, I can't bring myself to leave a mess for them. She's a v.old friend but her house is ever so different to ours (we're a teeny bit eccentric - most of our furniture has been salvaged from skips and our kitchen is built out of scaffolding..). Times like this, I wish we had a cleaner.

Gigondas · 30/03/2012 11:51

Your house sounds brilliant smee . I wouldn't go mad cleaning . Are you excited? [stupid question]

Grin to read about little sometimes.

Have told 2 people I work with re dx - one is old friend who is also on ml and was wondering why I had fobbed her off meeting up . The other is my line manager who was really lovely about it although shocked .

And had time to watch some mad men on sky plus while mini gig napped

smee · 30/03/2012 12:05

Gig, yes am daftly excited and still have absurd amounts of work to do before we go. I have got someone lined up to take ds out tomorrow, so refuse to panic just yet.

Well done on telling work people. Hard to do I think. I used to send people an e-mail apologising for telling them that way, but telling them to call me once they'd got over the shock. Seemed to work quite well. Very hard to tell someone about cancer in a phone call or face to face even.

Gigondas · 30/03/2012 12:09

I know - I just find can't handle other people's reactions (was same when lost my son in pregnancy). I can just about keep it together myself .

Have you got an idea of what you are going to see/buy?

Don't know whether to contact oncologist re infection and what does to rads. Surgeon said he would do it but he is quite unreliable. I am erring between do nothing as don't want hassle v. Better to ask so know what score is.

SparkleRainbow · 30/03/2012 12:56

Oh Gig, it is so hard. I hope mini gig has found a new sleeping routine for you. I am quite Envy over you being able to watch madmen....I love madmen...can I buy it on dvd yet? (We don't have cable or sky)

I am almost unable to type due to Vicars, potatoes, harvest festivals, flossing bumblebees

Must go and sort out dd2, so welcome to this wonderful thread to the newbies and waves to youthful "oldies".... am filling fbs trolley on my way out, fruit cake, hotcross buns, and giant chocolate buttons....not for me though as I have lost another 1lb.

topsyturner · 30/03/2012 13:32

Hello All

Just popping on to see if Gracie is back yet .

Am in my neighbours house drinking coffee being a sous chef Grin

Still haven't brushed my teefs yet , think Mrs Bumble may be trying to nest/mate with my toothbrush ...

topsyturner · 30/03/2012 13:33

Ps- I too lurve Madmen . I watched this weeks 2 episodes back to back yesterday .

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/03/2012 13:38

wow sparkle well done !
Hooray for junior sometimes -from what I know of her she is quite wonderful (I have her letter propped up on my desk as i work) - be very proud.
I like the sound of a scaffolding kitchen smee !
gig well done for telling - it is terribly hard- I found it easiest by making light of it in emails- I couldn't cope with face to face or phone. 2 of my friends have told me about cancer diagnoses by phone and it was very shocking (for me) Actually, mum told me about lalaa's (for newbies-my SIL who was dx with b cancer 5 years ago) and that really shocked me -awful. I am aware of not saying everything'll be fine to the people telling me as that I think is not helpful - who can know, but hopefully being supportive and practical..lalaa taught me this.she was the first person I told actually-about the breast clinic and then diagnosis.

hello allSmile

well done to miss sometimes, - sounds as if she's doing really well.

also well done on telling colleagues gig -it is very hard, smee's e-mail method is a good one - i used letters and e-mail to tell people. step away from the dm -it is obsessed with cancer stories - weird!

nappymaesetro - I totally agree with smee and sometimes about the emotional side of things, your mil might well feel quite down now her active treatment has finished -it suddenly seems to hit home what you have been through.

I'm waving to everyone, - going to post again later, - old lady dog has fallen asleep on my lap with my right arm underneath her - it's very hard to type ! excuse lack of capital letters. back when she wakes up and moves Grin

Thanks guys - dd is a hard worker, I'll say that for her. Very driven.

I too like the sound of furniture from skips and a scaffolding kitchen, smee -but I still think you should let your house just be (says one who does the cleaning when dd's mates come round Blush ) You don't want to be tripping round NY with dishmop hands Grin

I applaud anyone telling colleagues of their dx, however they do it. Such a hard thing to do - and to hear, so bear that in mind of you get an odd reaction. Some people just panic and are so worried not to say the wrong thing they do something weird instead.

KK - do you think old lady dog may be a tad spoilt? Grin

KurriKurri · 30/03/2012 14:58

just a tad sometimes Grin she's still on me, snoring loudly - i can only do slow left handed typing. she's got her head in the crook of my elbow -like a very hairy, beardy, slightly stinky baby [baby]

KurriKurri · 30/03/2012 14:59

that was supposed to be Grin at the end.

amberlight · 30/03/2012 15:07

MAS, yes I'm not sure re the cleavage thing either, even if I still have one.

Hi everyone...hope you're doing ok....

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/03/2012 15:31

Am taking ds for hair cut now- he will walk yards ahead of me and ignore me completely...however, the hairdresser is extremely pretty and that might help.

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 30/03/2012 15:33

am probably over sensitive about the cleavage thing- it just seems a bit Hmm to have someone awarded 'best breasts'. Am lucky to have both mine, dented one may be,but I feel bad for my friends with more radical surgery.

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 30/03/2012 16:19

Dog has shifted Grin

MAS - I'm not keen on national cleavage day, - I'm basically pretty Hmm about any award or prize that is appearance based anyway. But a cleavage day does seem to be ramming it home a bit for anyone who's had breast surgery.

Maybe I should contact Wonderbra and suggest they start doing a mastectomy range, - they could celebrate the launch of it by having a national Monotit day Grin (I would model for them).

Sparkle - well done on losing another pound, you are doing very well.
I have managed to lose another 4lbs (it must be over a few weeks because I stopped weighing myself as I was getting demoralised) - so I'm chuffed, it's slow going but heading in the right direction.

topsy - Curry evening sounds great, I hope the sous chef gets to sample everything. Smile

Kidney/back is quite sore today, - I trailed round town trying (unsuccessfully) to find a present for DDil-to-be's birthday next week. I'm going to look for what I want online now and hope it arrives in time.

Apparently there is an Egret visiting a little stream/river on the other side of our village Egret which is rather exciting, we're going to see if we can spot him and take some photos this weekend.
