Smee He has his moments but we have worked together over 20 years so we know each others little ways.

Figgy Hope you are feeling better. Really not pleasant.

Gig Don't feel selfish - you nanny sounds a bit 'precious' :0

Gigondas · 26/03/2012 21:55

Gracie your boss sounds lovely but cannot believe brass neck of your colleague. I don't miss all that being on maternity leave (they has to change seating plan as 2 of them fell out just after I went on ml- it is like school).

Big gig seems fine. I feel better as managed normal day of eating for first time in 8 days . Mini gig trying to punch a stuffed panda- god love her as has been trying to do this and talk to it for about 40 minutes Grin.

smee · 26/03/2012 22:27

Aw at mini gig. Sounds like a cutey who'll grow up with attitude. Perfect. Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/03/2012 23:18

bless mini gig and gracie's lovely boss.
So tired-my fault for not going to bed earlier-tsk. Hoping for nothing nasty in my dreams.

Morning All

Good Boss Gracie , how do you feel after your first day ?
Bet you are knackered , remember to take it easy !

Gig was she punching the panda for his refusal to talk ? If she starts waterboarding him I suggest you call Guantanamos careers department Grin

Mas hope you had no horrid dreams last night .

Any appointments today ? Any box sitting needed ?

Gigondas · 27/03/2012 08:16

I think she is modelling herself on Alan sugar- her "team" of panda , frog and duck need a lot of coercion to act properly. Seems to have worn her out tho as slept from 11 -6.30 and asleep again now. I know her "good"ways now means I am going to have some kind of payback later.

I will sit with you topsy - was given some jnfo on drain they put in and seems like it has an amazing success rate for quick healing. Downside is I have to carry a noisy cumbersome pump in a bag but More excuse to veg here .

Gracie your app tomorrow and Friday aren't they?

smee · 27/03/2012 09:33

I'll take a turn on the box. Will bring Oat and Cranberry biscuits and coffee. Smile

Gigondas · 27/03/2012 09:41

You can definitely sit next to me if you have biscuits Grin

NedSchneebly · 27/03/2012 09:43

Morning all - sun shining again!

Just got back for LittleNed's class assembly. No dressing up, thank goodness. Very sweet with his little slip of paper with his lines on.

I am quite bored of having a sore tongue- have 2 very painful patches pn one side. Any suggestions? Have been trying salt water gargling, but I do find it something akin to drowning in the sea. Any other ideas?
O
Having lunch with two lovely friends today. Smile

Grin@ minigig getting Mr Panda in order!

MAS hope you had a peaceful sleep. Was thinking of you in the middle of the night, hoping you were sleeping OK. Hugs x

gracie your boss sounds awesome! Hope work OK today. Appointment tomorrow, yes? You'll feel better with more information about what is going on, I promise.

smee you packed yet? Smile

Morning topsy! I can do some sitting with you on the box today. Shall we meet there for a cup of Brew ?

NedSchneebly · 27/03/2012 09:46

X post smee Smile

Meant to wave to anyone else around this morning - hope this tuesday is treating you all Ok x x x

OneInEight · 27/03/2012 09:51

Gig - can I swop a bolshy 9 year old who hates school for a panda cudddling baby please. No, I didn't think you would be up for it. Could throw in his twin too who is not much better. Am not selling them very well am I. More seriously, hope they manage to sort out your wound soon - sounds horrid.

Gracie - glad your boss was great and your collague is still in the land of the living. Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and you get a treatment plan in place.

Smee - envy you your NY trip. I have been once but my abiding memory is how cold it was - I think I went in March was many years ago now but pavements were covered in slush, I had totally unsuitable footwear and my feet were frozen. Hopefully, the weather will be better for you.

Amber - glad the heart thing seems to be manageable now. I'm going for an echo this morning to check mine out before they give the first dose of herceptin next week.

Ned - I guess you are making great use of your new sun-lounger in this lovely weather. Think this is just what I need too although the boys trampoline makes quite a good substitute.

Waves to everyone else and offers some chocolate croissants if anyone is interested.

OneInEight · 27/03/2012 09:57

Ned - are you using a mouthwash. The hospital is giving me one with chlorhexidine and gluconate- which seems to be working for me in minimising the mouth ulcers (well so far at anyrate).

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/03/2012 09:59

waves to all and plonks self on box with biscuits...
I did dream but couldn't remember properly,so am guessing it was a normal one ! phew ! Have emailed my bcn to see if we could chat sometime as I feel a need to be reinforced-going away after Easter, only to MILs for a few days but this always unnerves me - and I supposed I allowed myself to feel a bit down. I worry that I rely on her too much but she is really my only confidant (apart from you lovely lot)-I have told her a lot and she's guided me,so I feel a big attachment.
I really must start on dh's illustrations.

I have a truly luminous pink wooly hat that might defeat the object of the balaclavas but could generate some good fortean stories about the pink thing creating a cerne abbas giant on a lawn. Alongside Smee's bobbly balaclava we could be terrific. Book me in.

Smee, I am very jealous of your NY trip. Envy

Gracie - your boss sounds lovely. I had a couple of clients a bit like that - they found their protective streak big time. Your colleague on the other hand, sends my jaw to the flaw floor I do not think she and I could be in the same room.

Amber - very well done on the mammoth walk. You go girl.

Car was lovely, but I think I may shelve a decision until after Easter, then look again. I have never actually bought a car before, always had leased company ones so this is a bit of a scary new departure. I shall procrastinate for a bit, I think Grin

Sometimesiwonder · 27/03/2012 10:02

MAS - start on the illustrations. A distraction is what you need - and you know you will do a fab job. x

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/03/2012 10:07

thanks sometimes, will do !

OP posts:
smee · 27/03/2012 10:35

Go buy the car, Sometimes. Grin

MAS, definitely call the BCN then. So important to have someone to hold that place. Illustrations sound like the way to go - and a walk round your garden in the sun. Smile

On dreams, I had one last night - wasn't scary just bizarre. So strange that actually I'm not sure I should share it.. Confused

Ned, I'd ask the unit for some mouthwash - I hated the whole mouth thing too, but am not sure there's a solution other than keeping as on top of it as you can. Your DS's assembly sounds sweet. Have a nice lunch. Smile

Eight, why does your boy hate school?? That's sad. Is it affected or real? Nice to see you. Hope the echo goes to plan this morning. Do you have Herceptin alongside your other chemo then? I didn't realise you could do that.

topsyturner · 27/03/2012 10:38

Smee was it a sex dream ? Grin

Gigondas · 27/03/2012 10:49

topsy are you lowering the tone [tries to look stern and fails]Wink

One- I fear Your twins would teach big gig even more attitude.Grin Is it end of termitis? I would like to offer crumbs of comfort but vividly remember dss lethargy re school. I am quite optimistic that lovely surgeon will fix things- only wish hadnt had to get to this point/be so poorly to do it.

Ned- mouth ulcers sound horrid and I do hope something can help. Little Ned assembly sounds lovely.

Mas- I think talking to your nurse helps. I do know how you feel as I don't like to burden dh or my mum too much.

Friend coming over for coffee and I need to find more stuff to ebay...

Sometimesiwonder · 27/03/2012 10:53

Agree with topsy - we need to be told! Grin

Ned - i think you should ask for mouthwash too. Failing that, gargle 3 or 4 times a day with slightly salty water. Vile, but pretty good. A sore mouth is beyond horrible Sad

Am v tempted on the car thing but it is so complicated. The car I have now is leased and it could just go back - but i think they'll sting me for various niggly wear and tear things that i should really put right. So then I'll have to pay for a new car and car repairs. So my thinking is, to buy the one I have, get the repairs done (they won't amount to a lot if I get them done, but they would amount to a BIG lot through the main dealer, which is who will do them if I send it back) keep it for six months and then sell privately, and buy another car then. So am just waiting for a purchase price from the lease company. Sigh. It is so boring being prudent.

smee · 27/03/2012 10:58

Ooh Topsy, I wish... Okay, if you're so inclined, analyse this:
So DS and I are walking to a bus-stop. When we get close there's a woman waiting, not at all stressed with smallish, beautiful fish spouting from every orifice (and yes I do mean every!). DS not at all phased, but slightly worried as it's not raining.. That's all I can remember.

Gig, I reckon your surgeon will make things so much better. Honestly, I'd bet it will be a relief once it's down. Have a nice coffee with your friend. Smile

DH has just left for New York...! Does feel far more real now. Smile

smee · 27/03/2012 10:59

x-post with Sometimes. Sigh for you on car. Sounds tedious.

Sometimesiwonder · 27/03/2012 11:08

Tedious indeed. I wasn't born for prudence, more for skipping gaily from excitement to excitement. I suppose that's true of a lot of us - but I do find being sensible is a serious strain Wink

Now I like that dream. Had you been - erm - smoking anything? Grin At least your ds is consistent in dreamworld - from what you have said of him, I'd bet that would be his response in life as well Smile

smee · 27/03/2012 11:35

Think you're right about DS's reaction. I hadn't been on anything honest - not even wine. Confused

Being sensible is extraordinarily tricky. I have decided to be far more frivolous since dx. Hence NY. Not sure I'd have got all gung-ho and booked flights before all of this. Grin

topsyturner · 27/03/2012 11:36

Hmmm Smee
