Meant to say mas , saw a news article about a gentleman handing in a hand grenade that he found whilst out walking , to a police station in your village !
It all happens in the country eh ???

Good morning all. Welcome, Gracie. So sorry to hear about your Dad - the thing to remember is that not all cancers are the same and breast cancer is very treatable in most cases these days. Monday is amazingly quick to be rushing back to work - I still felt tired and sore two weeks after my operation and the gp was more than happy to sign me off for a month. Your colleague sounds mad - the longer you can avoid her the better I would think.

Goodluck for your results on Wednesday - there is a booklet "Understanding your pathology report" (from breast cancer care) which gives likely treatment options based on what they have found. Also gives a list of questions to asks which I found helpful. Some of us are recommended chemotherapy but not everyone needs it. I am half-way through chemo myself - it is not nice but doable and I am managing to work through it.

Looks like being another beautiful day here so am planning to have lazy day enjoying the sunshine.

AutumnSummers · 25/03/2012 08:18

Hi all- nice sunny day and minigig did proper sleep through!!

Topsy they do come out the other side..eventually (blocks memories of dss pita year).

Not sure I am doing much today but girls and dh off to the park.

I will spare you details but my wound seroma resolved itself somewhat messily in the night. Horrid though this is I am
More comfortable and it does give me some comfort in knowing I was right it was swelling (but no comfort that bloody Gp knew what he was doing Hmm).

Please just keep fingers crossed rads doesn't get moved back because of this...

I may have to hand over my computer to you topsy as googling this does seem to indicate it can recur. But that thought can go in the paranoia box..

AutumnSummers · 25/03/2012 09:00

gig Glad you feel more comfortable :)

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/03/2012 09:46

forgot to say- lit a little candle for you all yesterday in the teeny chapel at Hinton Ampner
When's my shift on the Paranoia Box ?

Gigondas · 25/03/2012 10:15

Where was this topsy? Dh says his dad dig up some a bomb iin garden - they lived near coast and apparently there was leftover ammo from war. Army came and took it away.

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/03/2012 10:33

Morning All

Feel surprisingly well considering how much alcohol I consumed last night !

Yes mas it was a hand grenade !
Gig will let mas say where it is , just incase she doesnt want me to out her !

Gig am mightily impressed with your night time explosion Grin
I do hope there is no pain though .

Another beautiful day here .
Off to grannys shortly for lunch .
Enjoy the day , whatever you are doing .

topsyturner · 25/03/2012 10:36

X post mas

Gigondas · 25/03/2012 10:43

More a tsunami than an explosion...

topsyturner · 25/03/2012 10:51

Nice gig Grin

Gigondas · 25/03/2012 10:52

As you say it's a relief. Dh more worried about carpet and mattress topper. I did point out he escaped my waters breaking with the kids.

topsyturner · 25/03/2012 11:05

Makes me so happy I escaped having an evil seroma .
My bedroom carpet still hasn't recovered from when the DC were babies !

Gigondas · 25/03/2012 11:13

Grin Topsy - our carpet is under assault from all angles.

Dh has just bought me some incontinence pants to help with the leaking...

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/03/2012 11:40

ooer gig -that sounds alarming, but hope it brings relief !
I managed to nip out of bed before my waters went everywhere so our mattress was spared

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 25/03/2012 13:33

Gig - that sounds dramatic, but also strangely satisfying I would think, if it brings some relief it can only be good. Fingers crossed for your rads going ahead.

Waving to everyone, hope you all have a good day in the sunshine.
I'm feeling like hell today - and pretty cross about it, because yesterday I felt well and had some energy for the first time in ages. Maybe I overdid it, but today I can hardly drag myself around. Grrr.

Sorry for moaning. Ignore me - just needed a whine.

Gigondas · 25/03/2012 14:13

Kurri- sympathy for feeling shit when felt ok. I was moaning to my acupuncturist about this same thing- I think it feels worse when you are having a down day/sick when you have felt better.

amberlight · 25/03/2012 14:19

Gracie, hecky heck - you've had the start-to-the-year from hell, so far, that's for sure. Have a Brew. 8 out of 10 women find that treatment is excellent these days. 1 out of 10 has a bit of a battle before it stops being rude. So the odds of long term success are pretty darned good for what we have. Not giving you any guarantees, but if it's a WLE, I'm pretty sure that you're within those odds. Let us know what's what?

KK, you're not whining. Sit down. Let us bring you Brew as well. In fact, there's some for everyone.

Gig, had to Grin a bit about the way you've described that. Hurrah for comfort but boo re doc.

I had a fantastic day with friends yesterday and taking it quietly today in the sunshine. There was so much to think about last week (good news on the 6 mth checkup, but mixed puzzlement on the heart stuff) that I didn't know what to make of it. But today feels like I've got it sorted in my head.

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/03/2012 16:35

good for you amber ! enjoy the sunshine.
kk sorry to hear that you're feeling wiped out though - not nice. Am having some green tea so do help yourselves, no cake unfortunately.

smee · 25/03/2012 17:16

Hello Gracie. Sorry you've found yourself here. That's awful about your dad - must be a really tough time, regardless of your diagnosis. The others are right though, as Breast Cancer's terrifying, but it is mostly treatable these days. Re: your loopy colleague, remember no judge will ever convict as BC gives you excellent mitigating circumstances - feel free to thump her.. Grin

Gig, definitely stop googling - that wound does sound grim, but I doubt it's anything recurring. It's just such a sod of a spot to heal.

Sorry not to post to all. Am feeling a mite hungover, as went to a fantastic birthday meal for a friend last night and the wine was more than plentiful. Sun's helping. Have been pootling round the garden pretending I know what a weed looks like. Grin
